Convenient location between high street in Margaret River and the beach. Beautiful hotel with ample included amenities, especially for those staying more than a couple of days. Staff was very helpful and responsive, including after business hours when we got locked out without our key and packing some fresh baked scones for our drive on the day we left.

My wife and I enjoyed our recent stay very much. The property is absolutely lovely and is so recently refreshed, you can still smell the fresh paint. The gardens are beautifully manicured and there simply isn't a thing out of place in the manor. The included breakfast is excellent, far better than any major hotel restaurant I've ever eaten in and the conservatory it is served in is a perfect place to enjoy it. Couldn't recommend a stay here while in Margaret River any higher.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. Surrounded by stunning gardens and plenty of birdsong this was the perfect getaway. The bedroom was large and very comfortable with a balcony from which we could look out at the beautiful gardens every morning we woke up. There were 2 cosy lounges with open fires and books and games supplied. The breakfast was excellent and each afternoon a very tasty home made cake was provided with the tea and coffee that was available throughout the day. The staff were excellent. However, what really stood out for us was on the day that we didn't require room service they left a basket of fresh towels, toiletries and other provisions outside our door. A guest laundry was also provided which was gratefully appreciated by all the guests. The location just outside Margaret River town was very convenient for finding wonderful restaurants, cafes and shops and was also close to the wineries. The only negative was the WiFi was a little problematic. Despite that minor hiccup, we would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone thinking of having a holiday in the Margaret River region.

It felt like a English Country Manor

A very tidy hotel, modern bathroom and fixtures, large rooms, good breakfast. Beautiful view from the breakfast conservatory. However we were in 'Shiraz' room, which was absoltuely not worth what we paid. At $250/nt it would've been great, but at the $500/nt we paid it was quite underwhelming. Bed was only just okay in terms of comfort, window looked out the carpark, no bath, no blacony, no nice view and grounds were quite small. I've stayed in many better quality hotels for half the price.
Summary: great place, just way overpriced, at least for Shiraz room.

Fantastic property. The history of the building is beautiful, the grounds, building and interiors have been well maintained. Breakfast in the conservatory each morning was very nice with beautiful views over the formal gardens.

quiet , private , serene, fantastic breakfast.
Appreciated the fresh towels for the pool each time.
Morries Restaurant was fantastic -
wifi is poor.
The shower head is rather awkward - has anyone suggested rain shower heads , easy, less risk of water going everywhere.
The dining room chairs are high, small and rather uncomfortable . However the bench seat in the dining room was a much more comfortable height and a good height for the table.

I have stayed in lots of hotels and apartments in my lifetime, but this one would be considered the very best of them.
I am planning to stay again for a holiday as soon as I am able.

Stayed 5 nights and didn't want to leave. Gorgeous rooms and beautiful gardens. Tastefully decorated. Super comfy bed with expensive linens. Cooked to order breakfast was divine. Loved the afternoon cake and tea. Just 10 mins to town of Margaret River and 10 minutes to serene beach. Close to many wineries. Hope to return soon.

Exceeded all expectations well done! The place to stay

Lovely old building and location. Room was a bit small and there was no room to put your toiletries bag in the bathroom. My only other suggestion would be to start breakfast earlier. 8am is a bit late.

The staff were exceptional and they served an amazing breakfast. We were given a little treat at end of our stay to enjoy on the road. A lovely touch.

This is a great hotel. The hotel is full of character and history. Our Manor room was very comfortable and included a private outdoor courtyard. The gardens are lovely and well maintained. The sitting rooms were inviting...loved relaxing in front of the fire at the end of the day sipping local wine. Daniela and staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They made us feel at home. One of the best breakfasts we've had in any hotel. The conveniences of town are a very short drive away. This hotel is highly recommended as a base for touring the Margaret River region. Loved our stay at Basildene Manor....

Magnificently presented , beautiful gardens, top customer service, brilliant breakfast, scones on departure an extra nice touch

All in all, our stay was average. The exterior of the building (and some parts of the interior) are beautiful and the gardens are absolutely stunning. The service was also friendly and professional.
However, the room we stayed in (from memory, the Traminer room), was quite run down and so tiny that it was difficult to unpack our belongings.
While they do serve breakfast, they don't have a proper restaurant and you have to visit one of the eateries in Margaret River for lunch and dinner. This wouldn't be an issue apart from the fact that it's a bit too far to walk into town (especially at night). Breakfast was good, but the selection was fairly limited.

This was the most beautiful property. The staff was excellent and most helpful even helped us prepare private bbq. The historical home was incredible with outstanding gardens, pool, tennis courts. The breakfast every morning was delicious and afternoon tea was much appreciated. Highly recommend Basildene Manor!

Simply beautiful home-turned B&B. Lovely staff, gorgeous gardens and grounds, delicious breakfasts, and centrally locates within walking distance to town. I’ll be back!

Basildene Manor is a delightful and historic Country house which stands in beautiful grounds and is very convenient for access to beaches and to Margaret River town. The breakfast was excellent as was the service which, while I was there, was mainly in the form of Max, the receptionist, who could not have been more helpful.
My only complaint is that I thought, when booking, that it was a hotel whereas it is more of a very high quality B & B so there is no bar to return to or facility for food outside of breakfast.
It is possible that this was a failure in research on my part and I would certainly recommend Basildene Manor if these additional facilities are not important to you. Finally, our standard room was perfectly comfortable but did not have a bath which was an irritation to my Wife.
