We were pleasantly surprised that there was such a nice hotel right along the interstate we travel a few times a year. Breakfast was great too.
5.0
It was a great stay but we have a billing issue that after a week is still not handled.

Unfortunately there was a traveling little league team staying there. Kids were running up and down the halls. Playing catch in the halls and having a blast in the pool. There was pool water everywhere including the elevator. I don't blame the kids, they did quite down around 10:00pm.
2.5
Good hotel. Pet friendly. Quiet.

We were disappointed that the hot tub was closed. Someone had broke glass in it the day before. That was the main reason we had made reservations there was because it had a hot tub. We understand the safety aspect but was really looking for to relaxing. Everything else was great.

Very friendly staff and nice big clean rooms. We are traveling with two young kids and a large dog. We were all very comfortable and happy as this hotel. We already booked our stay there on our trip home.
It is an older hotel but again clean rooms. Also, since older I believe it helped with noise. Never heard anyone else the whole time.

Rooms were not ready at 3:40pm for 3pm check in. Room STUNK to high heaven and an oxidizer machine was brought in but didnt help...we truly had to stay out of our room until it was time to go to bed, which was the hardest mattress I've ever slept on BUT to end the night, we gad a room next to 2 dogs that either yapped ir barked all night!!!!!! Told the front desk at check and was told they would credit me $50 but only credited $30...WHAT A JOKE!@!!! I SHOULD HAVE BERN GIVEN A FULL REFUND!!!!!!!!

The hotel is really old and shabby. They are in the middle of renovations but Expedia doesn't tell you that. When I called the front desk to ask why I didn't get the room I paid for they were dismissive said they don't even have that room. Apparently Expedia sold me a room that doesn't exist. I won't stay here again and next time I will call Expedia immediately and ask that they make good on the room I paid for through them.

Very good experience. Will stay here again.

Nice property. Upgrades are very nice.

Properly is under remodel. Much needed. This property is far under other staybridge properties as far as condition goes.
Would recommend as area is fantastic and safe

The Staybridge is at the very beginning of a much needed and long overdue renovation process. The rooms are in dire need with thin walls, carpet stains, ceiling patches, and old furnishings. I would have left and gone elsewhere if I could. I paid $190 for 1 night and I feel robbed. My recommendation is to stay elsewhere.

Liked: cleanliness; location, excellent breakfast and service.
Didn’t like: refrigerator too noisy (had to unplug) same AC (turned off after room was cool)
Dissatisfied: Booked AND PAID for King Suite regular, checked in and was told that they didn’t have King Suite regular, only Queen bed Suite accesible and that they couldn’t change rate. The water from accessible shower run out the shower and down the floor so we had to use towels to dry the floor.
3.0
Under construction but it clearly had been for some time. Understaffed and the staff that was there was lackadaisical, bored, inattentive

Didn’t stay due to the conditions of the room. Left after 1 night.

The website said nothing of remodeling which dampened our trip due to not being able to utilize the swimming pool. That was the highlight for the kids to travel.

The property is located right off the highway which made it convenient. It has a wonderful small lake right behind where we could walk the dogs. Staff is friendly. The problem is the first floor has large construction ongoing. This was not mentioned to us as we booked. It also did not have the indoor pool or exercise room availabe the entire time.

Our room was very hot when we got there and the floors were dirty especially in the bathroom area and hallways. Needs some updating on the floor grout.

I didn’t like the renovation going on we weren’t informed of or the walls and general condo of the rooms. Gross.

They charged an additional 50$ to my card although I paid in advance for a better/bigger room that was no lobger available due to construction.

I stay in West Des Moines frequently with my family. I prefer to have a full kitchen for convenience with my kids. The staff here were so friendly and by far the best experience we've had compared to other hotels. This would be 5 stars across the board with the exception of our room was quite dated and needed many updates (broken tiles in bathtub surround, ceiling was just bad and needed to be scraped and redone, patching on the walls and the kitchen was in need of an update) I was a little disappointed that our room did not have the little bar with seating, but we made it work. We had a suite with 2 queen beds. Breakfast was good, staff was excellent. It was very clean. A few updates to this hotel and it will be my first choice!
-Also, They are in the process of renovating the lobby and hot tub. Pool was open, but also needed a bit of work.

The bed is very comfortable and the room very quiet. Enjoyed our stay.

Great breakfast and location. Pool was broken:(

Well, the first problem my key would not work so I went back to get a new one. She said I have to fanagle it in order to open. Same thing happened, took me 10-15 times before I could even get into my room.
The room itself was great, except I thought I was getting a fireplace and a dvd player....I would have said something if I was staying later than a day, but not a big deal. Then the TV size was not the full size. I tried to fix it, but it would not work.
The breakfast was great except for the bacon. It seemed like it was not fully cooked.
Then I went to check out and waited for 10 minutes and nobody showed up.
There should always be two people at the desk for this reason.
Otherwise it was a decent stay. Nice and quiet.

When we walked in the microwave vent was on high and the air conditioner was set to 60 which we found odd. The ceiling had previous water damage in numerous spots and the paint was maybe mid touch up or just not done well. All of those issues would have been fine but the cleanliness of the floors, bathroom, and bedding left much to be desired. Had we arrived earlier we probably would have at the least requested a different room, but as it was after midnight we toughed it out. The other party we travelled with had no complaints, so possibly hit or miss. Our room a definite miss.

The pool was closed! As soon as you walk in the hotel there is a musty smell. The rooms are very out dated and all the furniture in the room had big stains on them. The mattress sunk in the middle. The shower faucet was leaking so bad and going down in the wall. We spent 30 minutes trying to find a different hotel but everyone was booked because of soccer and baseball tournaments going on in the area. The staff was not very friendly. Breakfast does not start until 7:30am and the coffee is cold. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was nice. The only thing that I wasn't happy about was that I wasn't able to get a receipt when I checked out. When I checked in I was able to get a AAA discount right there. Then when I checked out the hotel was to refund me $15.00 and the person behind the desk didn't know what to do until his 'boss' came in later in the day. We were not going to wait around that long as we were ready to go home. I would like my $15.00 back.

The staff that checked us in was very helpful and made check in extremely quick and easy.

The hotel overbooked and our reservation from FEBRUARY was canceled. We had to pay at least $100 more for each night across the street

My signifant other and I spent the weekend here for an affordable getaway. We especially enjoyed the kitchen in the room and the pool/hot tub area. The weather was nice so we took some walks around the pond. The breakfast was very good. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The laundry facility was free however a few machines were broke down and the elevator is slow. That would be my only complaint, but we will be back!

Overall great hotel for a decent price as a family of 5. Breakfast wasn't as good as we had hoped.
1.5
Check in was okay and the staff was friendly however the breakfast is not what the pictures make it look like by any means basically it was eggs and halfway cooked sausage with a couple of other random options like fruit that is not ripe and should not be served to humans. My door to my room didn’t even latch without having to slam it. the bathroom door didn’t latch at all the Jacuzzi tub in our room was not clean from the previous guests and was half way clogged so it didn’t even drain when I was taking a shower. things were very dirty, the sink had grease still in it from the previous people which made the entire room smell like sausage and bacon. overall not at all clean and they should not be putting people in rooms that are like this! hotel definitely needs an update and better cleaning staff.

I got the handicapped room that I requested! Breakfast was thin, but available. A good place to stay.

I went to Staybridge Suites to recuperate from my surgery. My daughter was with me. We stayed 5 nights. Very clean and quiet. The breakfast was very good. Restful stay. This is the second time we have used this hotel this year for recuperating.
3.0
The suite itself was very roomy and worked fine for our overnight stay. The property is showing wear, and our air didn’t work in the living room, the cable also didn’t work in the living room and there was no remote to be found. The toilet made loud running noises all night long. The hot tub was also broken. It was fine for the few hours we were actually there, but wouldn’t be my first choice if needing to stay in WDM again.
