This hotel is located directly across from Mississippi State University which makes it incredibly convenient when visiting our daughter. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The breakfast is the BEST part of this hotel! So delicious! We will stay here again.

We had such a good night’s sleep here!!! The bed was soooo comfortable and we slept like babies! The staff was super friendly and quick to tend to us. We are already planning our next trip to Starkville and changed our original booking with a different hotel to this one, that’s how much we loved it!

Grouchy front desk attendant at check in. Sat down on couch in lobby and sunk down on the frame. Couch needs to be replaced. Cookies and water in lobby nice touch! Room was dated and tired but clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

bathroom was very dirty, light fixture in the bathroom had tons of bugs, bath tub was filthy

I always enjoy staying at this location. Have stayed here for years (when it was the Comfort Suites) and the staff is always so welcoming and friendly. My only complaint is that the water was out for several hours on my last day. I was never notified but had to call the front test, who told me it was a "water main break in the city". Then I noted that water/plumbing contractor trucks who contradicted the water being out in the city but an issue at the hotel.
Later that afternoon the water was restored but no hot water to the room. I checked until 10:30pm (room on the 3rd floor). The wonderful front desk attendant check the hot water on other floors and moved me to the 1st floor.
It was greatly appreciated but having to move all my luggage, repack/unpack at 11pm when I had not been able to shower, and had to catch an early morning flight. This was very inconvenient and I wish someone had been proactive and offered another room earlier that afternoon/evening.
Will I stay here again, absolutely. However, I do think the hotel management staff should have been proactive with customers about the water situation, checking water pressure/temp, and actively moving customers before it was so late in the night. I had to leave the hotel most of the day (still had to pay for the room) due to the water outage and had no hot water for over half of the last day/night.

Super easy:) The welcome bag for football game was a nice and unexpected surprise:)

One of the rare nice places to stay in Starkville

Nice Location and good breakfast. The only thing i did not like was that my room smelled like mildew, the carpet and my bed felt moist.

Friendly staff

Amazing staff clean rooms

The hotel was good in general, the only bad thing was that the room had a weird smell and the location of the hotel is kinda isolated. The service was good.
4.3
Nice people. Hotel is tired and needs a make over. When Russell took over they did nothing but change the name was very dispointed. Very dated.
4.3
Very close to campus

Nice property, comfortable space, things were clean & welcoming. Breakfast hit the spot. Overall it worked well for me.

Great stay!

Obviously an older hotel that is not updated. However, given such, it is in great condition, well-kept and CLEAN! We visited for a college tour, and were in the heart of MSU’s campus and popular attractions. Walking to our destinations was easy. Check in was a breeze, and parking was convenient.
4.3
Very nice place to stay and right on MSU campus. Very roomy and lots of space.

Great location! Staff was amazing

Most trips the fam is out and about looking at different things. This trip we did a little of that, but spent more time in the room resting, as my son was involved in the MSU soccer camp. We were very comfortable and felt very welcomed amongst the staff. The price was reasonable as well. Had some difficulty with the key card door entrance, but nothing which couldn't be overcome.

Location was nice.

The room was spacious and very clean hotel and area around hotel was peaceful

The convenience to MSU

The room was okay except the room needs to be redone due to the wallpaper cracking and the baseboards coming loose. The bed was really comfortable. The lobby was nice. Loved the stairway.

The hotel is in a great location! The staff were super friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious. My only complaint is that the room needed some serious upgrades. Part of the light was missing in the bathroom, many of the outlets didn’t work or were very loose- that made charging our devices very difficult, and the bathtub was slippery. Other than those minor things, we had a wonderful stay. I’ve already booked a room for August for move in day at MSU!

We stayed here for college orientation. The location was wonderful. The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful. The only problem was had with our room was it was difficult to shut the bathroom door. Breakfast was good. We will stay here again.

Safe

Room had wet floors and carpet smelled bad of water odor and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned

Overall the property was well kept and the employees were all very nice. But, the reason for my mid rating was because of two checkout issues. The first issue was they refused to provide a receipt and stated that my receipt was the one that Expedia sent. And second, the amount charged to my credit card was more than what the Expedia receipt showed I would be paying.

Convenient location to where our Granddaughter lives.

Russell Inn and Suites was very comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone staying in Starkville!

Very clean and very good breakfast

Lovely

Only situation we had was room card reader would keep cancelling our room card. The service counter had to redo our room cards four times in order for us to get into our room.
4.3
Common areas were clean and inviting. Break items offered were hot and tasty but didn’t like being rushed by the attendant if you entered 10 minutes before closing. Booking online did not mention the no refundable pet fee of $75, would be helpful if this was mentioned. There was also a required $100 deposit for incidentals that was not mentioned as well. Overall a good hotel but rooms were dated and in need of painting, couches cleaned, etc

We had a great stay! The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was very convenient for our tour of msu

Great staff and breakfast

This property is in need of cosmetic maintenance in the room I occupied, but all the electrical appliances worked. The beds and pillows were comfortable and clean. It is an older property with dated/frayed furniture in some instances. Guests were enjoying the pool and the security was good (as far as exterior doors away from main entrance working). Be cautious using Expedia to book if there is any chance your itinerary will change within 48 hours (to receive a refund if your trip is cut short).

Emily was very nice at the front desk and very accommodating. The breakfast attendant was also super nice and helpful.

We’ve stayed here before and it was fine. This time, not so much. They didn’t have our reservation even tho I had the email. We were in a room different than we had selected, the room was very musty smelling. Our room was also not made up after our first night. The people are super nice so we will give them another shot. This stay was disappointing though.
