Is excellent hotel

It was raining. We asked for transportation to the Delfines restaurant, the driver did not let us know that it was closed and did not take us all the way to the restaurant because it was too slippery for the car tires, so I had to go down a set of stairs and I slipped 3 steps down. Ended up full of bruises and bleeding on my left foot. The restaurant had closed 20 min. ago. We were calling for transportation to the lobby and we were told they were coming and to go up the stairs again to wait for the golf car. We waited 35 minutes in the rain and did not come. Came back to the restaurant and called again. We went to the restaurant next to the lobby it was not open yet. Most of the time we asked for transportation we were ignored. We asked for water using room service and we were told that it had a charge. We couldn't walk to go get the water because there are lots of stairs and I was hurting due to the fall. The next day we had breakfast in the buffe, and they were arguing that we had to pay for the breakfast too. Terrible experience

The room smell like a very old room, like a wet towels that is inside the room, kept there for such a long time, smells rotten. They tried to fix it but there was no way. Staff were rude in the front desk. There were 2 buses of people that arrived when we there, imagine the chaos.

Great family getaway spot

We visited this property 42 years ago and received very memorable impressions from our first stay, so we went back to compare. The place has been very well kept, it is very clean and beautiful! The foods can be improved and also the service in the restaurants, but overall it is a very good place to spend a vacation in Mexico!
4.0
Beautiful place, clean and easy to access
The only thing that I would like to improve is the food service, must have more variation on the menu and drinks.
Otherwise, the place is awesome!

The last night that I was staying at the hotel I was told that if I wanted the upgrade because I was VIP and that they didn’t know why I wasn’t offered the VIP when I checked in, it was so late that I was tired, so I said that it was to late for me to change rooms!

Too many stairs and no elevators. I seen the prior reviews and called a few daya before to see if in fact no elevator. I was told there is an elevator. Thia place is good for young families ok with walking alot of stairs. Its huge. There was a watwr issue in the room and my parents had to be moved to another room which was far away and inconvenient. The place does have beautiful view of the ocean and sunset but from the rooms. Ocean is not in walking diatance

We went with a group of 15 and every single guest was disappointed with the hotel. We did the all inclusive and we wish we didn’t. Don’t waste your money. Food was horrible and only 1 restaurant and a taco shop was open. Very disappointing. The dinner restaurant only had capacity for 60 and we waited at 11am as told for over 1 hr to get a reservation and wasted so much time to be told they met capacity and be turned away. The rooms are dated and several of us had bed bugs. Bites. The water was not working on several of the rooms. The pool was dirty with dirty diapers on tables. Spa is dated and waste of money I can go in and on.

This is not an all inclusive resort. We were charged all inclusive for all including our 11 year old kids. There was only restaurant which was 12 and over. There was mold on the shower tile and ceiling. Front desk was rude and kept giving us run around. We requested a refund on the last two days of our stay.

Needs improvement on the maintenance. The location is great the beach wonderful but the property needs real improvement to be what it once was ….

It was in a lovely location and would come back probably on a fully inclusive basis as the food was very expensive at the hotel and all restaurants are included in the all inclusive. It’s tired and a few things don’t work as they should and you could have imagined how it was in its hay day. But the suite I had was spacious. There was some confusion as I thought I was getting a hot tub and breakfast included but this was not the case as apparently I didnt click the right button when booking. So in future I will phone to make a booking as I have bad ADHD!

Needs some repair and updating

This hotel is a hidden treasure. Even if not everything is one hundred percent modern and upgraded, it is unique because of its history, all the buildings, staircases, fountains and plazas. All employees were very friendly, and the hotel setup is all truly Mexican. Please keep it that way. Looking forward to coming back.

This is a landmark resort build in the 1970. While it is very well kept, it does show its age here and there. However, the unique architecture and many beautiful details of this village-style complex are charming and set it apart from any recently built, all-looking-the-same chain hotel. The winding cobblestone paths and stairs contribute to the atmosphere but may not be ideal for those with difficulty walking.
Plus:
-architecture and atmosphere of the complex
-friendly employees
-the nice beach
-excellent breakfast (except for the mediocre coffee...)
Minus:
- cleanliness in some public areas (e.g. hallways could be improved)
- dinner selections at the various restaurants were not always up to 5-star standard

Beautiful Hotel, excellent staff. We loved our stay

Water is so nice and clear, you can just sit down and watch all sorts of fish swimming by and so many places of great foods to eat.

The hotel has amazing architecture so it is an older resort. Their cleanliness lacks a little and sometimes was difficult getting the first coffee at breakfast much less a second. But most employees were very friendly and just loved the attached marina. We went to adult pool that never was cleaned the 10 days we were there but other pools were daily.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. All the staff we asked questions to were extremely helpful. The rooms were beautiful and the showers were large. The tile floor was very cold. The restaurants, stores, and beach were all located within the vicinity. We stayed in the furthest tower but the large golf carts would pick us up and drop us back off. Great service to have. The breakfast buffet at The Palmar restaurant was absolutely delicious. The private beach was beautiful and there was fish swimming with us at the shoreline. We needed a boat to accomplish the purpose of our trip and the boat dock with the rental store was right next to the restaurants. We were able to rent a yacht to accommodate our families of 16 people. We will definitely be back soon.

Paid all inclusive for a 5 star resort
Received 2 star facilities the lobby bar was not even open until 5 pm
Way over priced

This is a beautiful well-kept property with good amenities and a nice beach. The staff was friendly and responsive.
What could be improved is food at the regular restaurant and the outdated cabanas at the beach.
