Rooms pretty tired, parking difficult

Mercure is a wonderful hotel. The location is awesome. Very close to the train station as well as the old town. We love Strasbourg at Christmas time.

I wanted to be near the train station and this worked well. Comfortable room and good breakfast. Best thing is they let me check in at noon instead of waiting. This is a good way for Accor to keep customers happy.

Small old fashioned room. Low end of mercure standard

The location was great and it is in a beautiful city. However, fighting and what sounded to be an intoxicated man yelling and screaming outside of my room at 11.15pm was not something I would expect in a Mercure. It was not managed as it continued. The staff were not warm nor friendly, I expected more! The towels were worn through and had holes in them.

Very pleasantly surprised. Upon my check-in I had asked for a room in the back of the hotel, which wasn't available at that time. The nexy morning I asked again and it was now possible to move. I packed my suitcase for a new check-in at the end of the day but inadvertently forgot to pack my shirts. When I arrived in my new room that evening I found my shirts in my new room, would not have wanted to spend the rest of the week wearing one shirt only! I also very much enjoyed the breakfast

Excellent location to Gare de Strasbourg and prime location for Christmas markets. Very accommodating staff. Even had fruit and candy canes at desk. Charlotte was very sweet! As was Valerie! I would definitely stay again! Had a room looking over the square in front of the Gare De Strasbourg where we enjoyed a take out dinner and a bottle of wine. Just the best welcome!

Friendly hotel in good location. Could need a refurbishment of the rooms though.

I had a one night stay for a business trip and the hotel is very convenient for the central rail station and a reasonably short walk from the old town. There are plenty of shops, cafe's and restaurants in the area. The check-in was very smooth and the staff seem very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold food to choose from. The room was comfortable if a little dated. One great feature in my room were sliding screens which cover the windows effectively blocking noise and light. Overall a pleasant stay and I would stay at the Mercure Centre Gare again if I return to Strasbourg.

I had a 6 AM train from the Strasbourg Central Rail Station so I was looking for convenience and nearness to train station. The hotel was right across the street. Even though it faced to train station theroom was quiet. The staff was helpful and directed me to nearby restaurants and gave me an umbrella while it was raining out. Like most French hotels the room was small but it fit the bill perfectly for my needs.

The hotel was a nice place and good location with clean rooms.

Some Mercure hotels are very nice but this one left alot to be desired. The twin beds were wore out and so was the carpet that was heavily stained. The best part about this hotel was it's close proximity to the train station.

Only the one night stay before onward journey but excellent location and perfect all round. Great value. Excellent breakfast - far surpasses those offered by competitors. Would definitely visit again. Thank you.

The room was tiny, but with a very comfortable big double bed with very nice linens. Some rooms face onto interior atrium, with light-diffusing blinds. I had thought this was a disadvantage, but there was little noise and it actually improved air circulation. There was decent air conditioning or air cooling, which was appreciated. Breakfast buffet is a bit nicer than usual, if not enormous -- cereals, choice of fresh breads, a local specialty cake, and good selection of coffees/teas, some fruit, juice, etc. Location is great if you're coming/going by train. There is no real ''ambiance'' but bathroom was clean with plenty of shelf space, bed comfy, I slept well -- and the room service tarte flambee was one of the best I've tasted. So -- pricey, because Strasbourg is when full -- but decent.

The hotel room was small but comfortable & quiet. The lobby was small & dark with few amenities. The hotel is showing its age with worn carpets & dark color scheme.
Staff was friendly but could not give advice or directions on restaurants, sightseeing , etc. They did provide a map & we located the visitor center in town.
Location was good for proximity to train & walking.

Generally a very pleasant stay. Clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Only problem was a lack of hot water one morning which was a nuisance, particularly as it delayed our trip to Colmar. No compensation was offered.

We stayed for 6 nights in December 2016. Overall we really enjoyed our week away for Christmas Markets, the only down side was we were placed in an "interconnecting" room, directly opposite a lift. When I booked the Hotel in February I had requested “a quiet room, away from Lift” as I travel with my elderly mother. The Majority of the nights were peaceful, but we could hear every word of conversations between our neighbours one night and then on another night, a couple checked in a 3am and didn’t do so quietly, they felt the need to have a discussion right outside our room by the lift and then proceeded to take this in to the room banging things etc. After 5 minutes I called reception to ask the Night manager to call them and remind them of the time, but the night manager informed me that as they had only just arrived he wouldn’t call them and ask them to be quiet. At 3:20am, I called again and asked if he would now call them, which he did do immediately but the noise went on until they went to bed at 4am!
The following morning the staff on reception were very apologetic and asked if we wanted to move rooms. As we only had 1 night left and the “noisy neighbours” were checking out that day, we declined.
Noisy, rude guests are to be expected in any hotel, however Night Managers who refuse to do their job at the first time of asking is not something I would expect. 3am is not the time to be waking guests!

Who do you blame when check in is at noon but the 2 separate rooms are not ready until 2pm ?
Who do you blame when there are 4 people who want to watch the Olympics downstairs in the bar and the TV does not work ?

Very close to train station, easy walk into historic city. Room was good and clean. Excellent breakfast. Only oddity was shower with insufficient floor protection. Water spreads across a fair section of the floor.

Central location made it easy to walk everywhere. Hotel staff were very nice. Parking was a bit of a hornets nest, making it extremely difficult to drop off luggage as the train station clientele took over all spaces. However, easy public parking lot recommended by staff just a block down the road.

It was so nice to have so many restaurants around

Among few in Strasbourg where you can smoke in your room. Very good location for travelers visiting Strasbourg on short visit.

picture shown on the net is pretty deceiving, much disappointed but to be expected and what the heck, its only for 1 night

The hotel is just across from the railway station and a short walk from the centre of the city. Most of the attractions are just a short stroll away. A good restaurant, Le Dix is just down the street, Ask for a card at reception and get 10 percent off your food. We walked everywhere and that gave us a good look at all the attractions. Eating one street off the tourist area meant a good but cheaper meal and locals for company. The tarte flambé was delicious and seemed to be what the locals ate, just great for lunch.

From the moment we arrived the whole experience was extremely good. Very attentive staff, clean nicely appointed rooms with extremely comfortable bed and great pillows.

The hotel looks to be newly renovated in some old building structures. This has been done well and the hotel is interesting in appearance and decor. The room was large and comfortable and I had a complimentary mini-bar. The location is very good being close to the train station and the interesting parts of the old town which are all within walking distances. Overall, a good room in a good 4star hotel. Only isses are that there is no on site parking and the staff at the desk were slow and obviously didnt know how bad their instructions were for finding the closest parking structure.

After a 5 minute walk from the main train station, we were greeted promptly and courteously. Our room faced the station, so was a little noisy at night, but nothing concerning. Breakfast @ 15 Euro seemed pricey, so we ate elsewhere some days. The lift was often busy, so we took the stairs down most of the time. The room was comfortable and had sufficient space. Decor was somewhat dated, but clean and in good repair. The walls/doors were a little thin, so we could cleary hear our neigbours arrive and leave.
Consistent with many German/French bathrooms we have experienced, the shower was in the bath. This was very high off the floor, and presented a major challenge to exit safely - insufficient handrails meant that I needed to be assisted out each time. This would be a major hazard for elderly or informed guests. Notwithstanding, we we would cheerfully stay here again.

The hotel was value for money. It was also very convenient for transport - the train station was across the road as was the local tram.
There were reasonably price Lebanese cafes around the corner.
The only downfall was that the walls were very thin and on one night there was a lot of action coming from the adjoining which was very annoying.
