It's a very nice resort. We stayed in a cottage with water view. It was nice but not upgraded at all. Only major problem was we could hear our wall sharing neighbors. Every time they used their microwave we could hear it beep and the door open and close. We did enjoy our stay!

We really enjoyed the boat ride and the s’mores around the fire pit. If we had longer to stay we would have taken a kayak out and hiked the walking trails. Location is very convenient to Botanical Gardens and a nice walk across the footbridge to explore town. BOOTHBAY and Spruce Point are a wonderful destination!

Great property that’s close to town. Free boat ride from the resort is a nice touch.

Wow! Such a charming old school kind of place. Grounds are beautiful and views are stunning!!! Main lodge is cozy overlooking the water. Bonus: Free Harbor tours from Captain George who’s very fun. Also free rides into town and back.
One gripe is the service, which is inexperienced and super slow. Food is ok. I recommend skipping anything other than a quick cocktail, and hit the town. Room was nice. Check in and check out staff were lovely!!! I would definitely stay again!

The room was very nice with a great view of the water. Very big room. The resort had a shuttle to take us into town. Great restaurant. Front desk was very helpful with my questions. Would highly recommend this place.

Spruce Point Inn is in a great spot for quiet enjoyment of Boothbay, with a view of the Burnt Island lighthouse and long list of amenities. The overall feel is that it was gorgeous when built and it's being fairly well maintained, but it's now probably due for some updating. Our bathroom (in the Seagull cabin) was large and clean, but dated. The concrete paint at the oceanfront pool was peeling badly. The boat to take you into Boothbay Harbor for dinner was out of service due to a blown engine and had been for more than a week with no update as to when it may be available again. The "heated" forest side pool was about 65 degrees. And so on. But it's very quaint, the food at the Salty Stag was delicious, and the firepit Smore's every evening was a huge hit with the kids AND the adults. Overall a very nice experience.

Resort has so much potential and probably was really amazing back in its day. You can tell that the owners just gave up on it. Terrible terrible food, awful service and hospitality. Only good thing about this place is the property itself is stunning but that’s all. Would not go back

We really enjoyed staying at this property! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And there are great views of the harbor!

We couldn’t check in on time because the room wasn’t ready and the amenities offered were already booked for the one day we had available. The front desk never answers the phone so you need to walk to the main building to ask a question.

It was the 3 rd place in Maine we stayed at…and this was by far, our favorite! The Inn, the Staff, the grounds….and so much to do👍😊

The complimentary boat tour with Ray was amazing! Rid was great driving us to and from town!

We came early in the season, so things were not in full swing. Our hot water was not working and the tv remote had no batteries. However the front desk folks were super quick to remedy everything and get everything sorted out fast! A bit remote (so not walking distance to things) but really quiet and peaceful with great views! Would definitely stay again!

A classic resort dating back a few years but retaining all its charm. Spotless in every way!
View is amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Great place to stay. Convenient to Boothbay Harbor downtown.

This was our first time to Maine, and Spruce Point Inn was a wonderful introduction and first experience with its ideal location on the bay. The scenery is wonderful there and the Inn grounds and facilities have the character and look you would expect of a seaside resort. There were no disappointments. Our cottage room was clean and comfortable, the staff very courteous, and information we needed was available. The main lodge was real attractive and interesting, with lots of historic furnishings and art of the area and coastal life. We ate a delicious breakfast at the restaurant and enjoyed outdoor seating with a beautiful view. The staff took good care of us.

Amazing location, large comfortable room with an ocean view. We’ll definitely be back

The property, namely the rooms are dated.

Spruce Point is wonderfully quiet and secluded. While it has the outward appearance of a vintage estate, it is completely internally modernized, providing a rather stunning surprise when the room door opens, quite akin to Dorothy’s door opening into Oz! There are new and special amenities “in progress” which will come online soon, but there is presently plenty to keep you occupied. We found our boat tour of the harbor by Captain George to be completely captivating! Staff was superb, friendly and professional. You will not do better than Spruce Point Inn!

Best for families with kids. Otherwise pricey.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 days for our 40th Anniversary! The staff here was amazing! We met some wonderful people from all over the globe! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is amazing being right on the bay! It is very convenient to shopping, dining and groceries. There are 2 restaurants on the property, we ate at both of them and they were both very good.
Smore's in the fire pit every night!
Free boat ride!
Plenty of seating on the outdoor patio!
Chairs set out on the hillside to enjoy the ocean view!
Hiking trails that connect directly to the property!
The gym is small and the equipment needs some attention. I love that they had bottled water readily available in the gym!
One pool was closed for repair but the other was open and we enjoyed using it!
We look forward to staying here again!

Property and view are lovely. Only reason for giving a 4 star is that the ocean pool is being renovated. Their other pool is very nice but was looking forward to sitting ocean side at their pool. Plan to come back another time to enjoy that seaside pool! Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. A great place to grab a cocktail and sit in an adirondack chair watching the boats go by. Restaurant food is also quite good.

Outdated needs paint so sadly neglected it is not chic to hang onto the vestiges of what was acceptable in the 50s in the 60s and to substitute someone’s dinner with the ingredients. Triggering allergy concerns is just socially irresponsible. Add that to the tsunami of a leak that they clearly know about but put a colander under the sink for in the kitchenette. Ridiculous. They should never have rented out this room.

Great experience...truly relaxing!

Great property but they need EV chargers to match the other hotels in the area.

Our hotel room smelled musty and like a dirty wet rag. We told the front desk and all they did was give us a dehumidifier which was loud and needed to be restarted every hour.
The smell gave me a headache that I ended up checking out of the hotel earlier than expected.
For the price tag, it was unpleasant and disappointing.

Lovely old style resort with recently updated amenities. We especially loved the evening’s live music in the outdoor bar area overlooking the water.

We absolutely LOVE the Spruce Point Inn. It has everything a family need for a great vacation. We most definitely will be back again

Ocean Views
3.0
Amazing setting. Mediocre facilities for the price. Make sure and request ocean view. We had a room with one sky light window. Our doors opened to back of main building, little light. Facility is old and needs upgrading to justify cost.
2.0
In the room there were no instructions regarding operating the heat pump thermostat or the "fireplace." We had to have ice, as well as drinking glasses, delivered to the room. The check-in process was a bit confusing - the explanation of (resort fee) taxes was unclear at first and we had difficulty being able to hear over another staff's rather loud voice. All of the staff were friendly. The White Clover restaurant and the Grandview Deck had excellent service and very good food, although the White Clover was overpriced. It was unfortunate that the oceanside pool was under construction. The room itself in the Evergreen Lodge was spacious. our view was pleasant and the grounds were well maintained.
1.0
The pool was under construction and that is not reflected on Hotels.com. This was the only reason we booked this hotel - for the pool on the ocean. The room was last updated in the 70s. The carpet had stains. No ubers so plan on driving into town. The grounds are beautiful. Well manicured. The views are beautiful. The food was average. Overall disappointing mainly due to the price for what you get.
