The motel was typical and the only redeeming feature was the hot tub. But the main problem is that the room was dirty. Staying there for a couple of days triggered our allergies. The vents were dusty. The utensils in the kitchen were dirty. The floor was dirty

If you just need a quick last minute place this is it. Room was not vacuumed floor was not moped. Place is maintained not kept up to impress.

My family and I stayed at the Fireside Lodge for Labor Day weekend, room was clean, friendly staff, very convenient location with walking distance to The Village area. We had a great weekend.

I feel like FSL is over priced for the condition of the property and the rooms. It is pretty ran down and needs a lot of indoor and outdoor attention.
-They do not have roll aways (as stated on the Expedia page for $50 a day).
- The room smelled of weed badly which I found out if was coming from down stairs below us being sucked in from the air split outside. Informed the desk on check out.
-The room was very run down. Carpet, mattress, deck.
I wouldn’t return only for the price point and condition. Good for families that need space or babies that don’t want to bother other customers on a vacation.

I really really wanted to love this place but it just kept getting worse. When we arrived check in was smooth. We confirm with the clerk that the pools were heated, however, that was a lie. Our room was super small. The beds were not queen bed but full beds. The water in the shower linger and wouldn’t go down. The room is cute but falling apart and smells old. Tiny little TV…. Bathroom beyond small. Never again .

This could be a prime location if some care and attention were put into repairs and purchasing new beds and such.

Pool was shut down for 2 out of our 4 days in 95 degrees. I only rented here because of the pool. The minute the pool was shut down manager put up sign for no refunds or discounts. Really disappointed, very crappy customer service over a holiday weekend and we paid a lot of money because it was a holiday.

We had not stayed at this lodge for several years, but for a special occasion we wanted a lake view, fireplace, hot tub and mini-kitchen area. This room delivered all of that and more! It was immaculately clean and offered air conditioning, plus there was a nice pet area close to our room. It is on the main drag of Big Bear and backs up to a lovely neighborhood for those evening walks. Unfortunately, we found out when we arrived that the pool was closed, which was a disappointment. The staff was helpful but there was a bit of a language barrier on check in.

Rooms are very very small, but clean. The room next to us was loud and up at 6am, constantly going in/out of the room. Slept horribly

The room was cozy, it had a nice mini fridge and microwave. They have wide shower heads so the shower was good. It feels more like an actual bedroom rather than a hotel room which is nice. The door also had a really pretty stained glass panel, it felt like a mini cottage almost.
However, we had a lot of issues. We booked a fireplace room and the fireplace worked for about 20 minutes before getting blocked. We also got locked out of the room due to the lock running out of battery and my boyfriend had to wait outside our room in the snow (at night) while I had to wait for one of the owners to help me. He was able to change the locks battery and get the fireplace to work, but like I said it only worked for about 20 minutes due to the gas being blocked which sucked.
It was pretty close to the village which was good but it was snowing so we couldn't walk there. I imagine it's doable as it's only a few blocks. The bowling ally is also right across the street and there are family suites so it would probably be better for a family to go.
It wasn't noisy except for some type of work going on at 10 PM that was rattling the walls. I thought it was the neighbor banging on the walls or slamming a drawer but in the morning we saw someone working on the property and they were making the same sounds. The walls are also paper thin, we could hear our neighbors talking.

We loved our stay here and will be back in the fall !
Place is a little run down but we still had a good time.

Our room was small, dirty, old, and cramped. It was definitely in need of some TLC. The walls were painted, but so poorly that you could see the old color underneath. No care was taken to avoid the trim, as paint was slopped all over the place. The walls were dirty. The room smelled very bad, mostly the sheets, the toilet had 3 inches of caulking smeared all over the base. The shower was stained. The bathroom had a three light fixture, but only had one bulb in it. The walls were very thin so we could hear the neighbors very clearly late into the night. And if you need a blow dryer, bring one from home, this one was useless (no heat, barely put out air, and the cord was so small that you had to practially sit in the sink to use it.) Better off finding a different place to stay.

We had a fireplace. When request wood or to turn it on. Hotel staff wanted $20 in cash or to have guest bring their own wood. Hotel in Big Bear during Winter are expensive. However, we paid over $450 and the fact that they did not provide wood and wanted cash was not professional. The room heater work but only in one side of the room. There room had a kitchenette that was convenient. However, they did not provide dish soap and the kitchen sponge was not new. It was old and used. Parking was limited and hotel was full.

Our family was in Big Bear over the NY weekend. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean, comfy and cozy. We had a room with a balcony that overlooks the lake. I would stay here again in the future since the hotel is very close to everything.

Stayed in a Family Chalet room. It felt roomy and had a kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, cups, plates, etc. it delivers a cabin experience, which my family enjoys. Many guests (including us) had dogs. Not a great value for what we paid, but then it was a holiday weekend.

Well placed to shopping and restaurants. Our room’s (#21) wall heater was a bit noisy. Aside from the normal metal expansion/ contracting of the heater, there was this lingering pinging noise that lasted thirty minutes or more. Staff apologized and assured it would be look into. Pool was closed for the season but looked very clean.

The room was clean & tidy overall we had a good stay the room had minor issues like low shower water pressure but I'm Shure that is the case with the majority of hotels. The towel shelf in front of the sink didn't fit well and was generally in the way, they should put a regular sink vanity with storage shelfs or drawers in it instead of a pedestal sink. The in room refrigerator was making faint sounds that kind of wakes you up in the night.

The coffee machine wasn’t working properly. When I turned on the shower the water sprayed all over the ceiling and the shower head wasn’t screwed on correctly and it came off.
