Very unique and great location. Felt like inside a museum and part of the beautiful Firenze history.

Great historic palazzo across from duomo. Wonderful staff.

What a delightful stay! Such a unique and lovely accommodation that is the palatial home of the managing owners. Adjacent to the Duomo plaza, we could see the dome from our room and there were plenty of dining and shopping options. Walkable to all the best of Florence! Friendly and gracious staff!

This is an excellent hotel and in most respects a five star hotel. The positives are a beautiful historic building with frescos on the ceiling and antique furniture several centuries old. The. view from our room of the Duomo was spectacular. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the services from employees was first class in all respects. The only negative was significant. The room had a very strong sewer odor that made it almost uninhabitable. The solution was to open the three large windows overlooking the Duomo and this made the odor dissipate to acceptable levels. Unfortunately the tourist and youthful population of Florence drinks and partties until 2-3am in the morning and the Duomo is a popular place. The loud noise made sleeping very difficult. We chose noise over sewer smell but this is not a choice that a client paying over $700 per night should have to make. We also had some water leakage problems in the bathroom. I think much of the issue may stem from rain and old infrastructure of the city but they should have made us aware of this reality before accepting our reservation. The room was # 9 called the Empire Suite. Resolving this problem the Palazzo Niccolini would deserve the highest rating.

This was my second time staying at Palazzo Niccolini Al Duomo and loved every minute of it! The staff are so friendly and welcoming – and the place is simply beautiful. You have the view of the Duomo in every room.

Wonderful characterful historic property with large elegant rooms

The most beautiful hotel and room I’ve ever stayed in, in my life! 10/10

Absolutely fantastic property right next to the Duomo, literally with a view of the dome from the room. It is a historical residence from the 1700s converted to a hotel. The rooms are all unique and different from one another. They are large with the feel of a historic residence while still having all the modern amenities. You can walk to all the attractions and also a 10ish minute walk to the station - totally doable if you just have carry on luggage. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to checkin early since our train arrived before the checkin time. Email responses were super fast! Can’t find anything negative to share. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again if we visit Florence again.

Spent a wonderful last night in Florence at this boutique hotel. Decor is stunning, staff were beyond accommodating and breakfast was full of options and served in a luxurious parlor. Received a complimentary upgrade and my room was gorgeous and comfortable. Loved my stay at the Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo!

Absolutely beautiful and spacious room, incredibly friendly staff and right in the middle of everything. Our stay included breakfast which was delightful and there was daily afternoon tea which we also enjoyed.
Great bedding and a large selection of pillows and lovely thick bath towels and robes.

The hotel was amazing! Within steps of the Duomo! It is a beautiful, historic property. The staff was wonderful. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. There was a hearty, breakfast buffet. The lobby had a computer, coffee/cappuccino maker and bar. The area felt very safe. I would not hesitate to recommend and would absolutely stay here during another trip to Florence.

The Empire suite is a special room and was truly breathtaking with its frescoed ceilings and the Duomo view out of every 15’ window! Wowza. The furnishings were gorgeous antique as was the artwork. The deep footed tub was lovely. The staff was helpful and kind and was ready to assist with any issue. Also having parking right next to the Duomo was fantastic. But not for a driver who isn’t comfortable with tight entryways. I loved that each time I entered and exited I had help from the lovely door man. The breakfast was very good with many many choices and taken in a lovely room with frescoes and antiques. The big down side which really bummed me out, was a constant sewer smell in the bathroom and often in the room. I asked repeatedly to address this and I do believe the staff did what they could but it ruined the romance a bit. Also, the mattress was super soft (which I can handle) but also lopsided which wasn’t great. And a small thing which I thought was odd was that housekeeping twice left out either a sponge or some cleaning spray in the bathroom. The location is absolutely excellent with innumerable good restaurants walking distance as well as most museums. If this hotel can get new mattresses and figure out how to repair the sewage smell, this place would be heaven. I sincerely hope that they are able to make those adjustments as it is such a special place with fascinating history and lovely staff.

Amazing location near the Duomo and sites. It’s located in an actual palazzo and you get the real flavor of Florence.

Amazing is still too weak a word. This hotel is marvelous, in all aspects, an old palace with all amenities and luxury, just in front of the Duomo…

Beautiful old palace right next to the Duomo! And wonderful breakfast.

Our stay at the Palazzo Niccolini was fabulous. The views of the Duomo out our wind

What a hidden gem! I was only in Florence for one night after a week of hiking in Cinque Terra and Tuscany. Steps from the Duomo on a tiny street this was such treat. I was upgraded to a suite that was bigger than my house. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I took their advice and had an amazing dinner across the street at Gustavino. The hotel is a former residence and has beautiful public space where you can relax and have a drink or a coffee. There are only 12 rooms but trust me you will be so delighted that you found this little hotel with a big personality/

The Palazzo Niccolini all Duomo is a jewel! I have no reservations in recommending it to anyone. The room was absolutely charming and we had a view of the Duomo from our windows. The staff is exceptionally nice and accommodating. The daily poem and the morning breakfasts added to the charm. I hope to go back in the future!

Location was excellent; right next to the duomo. The bathrooms are very large compared to most bathrooms in Europe.

A beautiful location next to the duomo. We loved the room and breakfast was lovely. Our mini suite had a wonderful bathtub surrounded by candles. The glass of Prosecco at arrival was a lovely touch.

The Palace was a residence of the family that presently owns it. I was told it is over Donatello's workshop; not the Ninja turtle. It was a magnificent room. We had the junior suite, which I highly recommend because it is painted in frescoes that make you feel like you are in Florence staying at a palace in the 1600's. The owner was extremely friendly, takes a lot of pride and loves this Palace. Breakfast was great. It was a great stay. The location was next to the Duomo plaza. Highly recommended.

Long before we arrived, the Staff at Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo made sure we were well taken care of! They reached out to offer their services & suggestions, which we found extremely helpful. From Duomo, Galleria dell'Accademia, and Uffizi tickets to secured reservations for wonderful local restaurants, the assistance that the knowledgeable Staff provided helped make our visit to Florence truly fantastic. And, on top of all this, the property itself is simply wonderful. Lovingly & proudly restored, with great attention to modern comfort (a/c, WiFi, elevator, etc.) w/o compromising the site's historic beauty and detail, this is a PERFECT location for anybody wanting to experience the heart of busy, old town Florence while enjoying a private lodging retreat. Literally steps away from the Duomo, there are eateries, shops, and other great sites (Basilica di San Lorenzo, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Ponte Vecchio, Mercato Centrale) in close (5-15 minutes, depending) walking proximity. Then, come "home" to a very clean, comfortable, quiet Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo, where you can rest in the beautiful, common sitting room (great breakfast, afternoon tea/espresso & snacks, daily papers) or relax in your room - whether that's before or after turn-down service, your choice! We're grateful to have found Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo, & we're sure that our stay here was a key ingredient in making our Florence visit a treasure we'll remember for years to come.
