Stayed here plenty of times in the past with work, room wasn't as nice as other which i can live with, still get the free drink which is a good touch. I was there for 2 nights and only noticed once i got back the 2nd night that my room wasn't serviced, can live with the bed not being made, but no tea and coffee replaced or loo roll.

Amazing night . You could easily spend more than one night here . Very self contained . We didn’t even bother to eat in the restaurant the room was so large and comfortable. We opted for room service which again was to a high standard.

Good location for north east business visit

Check in took a long time. The website offers free room upgrades when available but we were told this wasn’t true. We then had to argue that this was what was advertised and we weren’t willing to pay the money to upgrade if it was advertised as free. This was embarrassing and we had to wait 20 minutes and show the wording on the booking for the receptionist to speak to his manager and confirm that we were right and give us the upgrade.
The computers then crashed and we had to wait again for this. Completely not the receptionists fault but hotels fault. He couldn’t apologise enough for the inconvenience of the long wait but in the stress of the situation forgot to give us vouchers for drinks and explain about bar tabs etc. which were explained later.
Website advertises multiple restaurants including an Italian, which is amazing but not actually affiliated with the hotel and the receptionist tried to convince us to use their restaurant instead. Weird.
Italian was 10/10 and would definitely recommend.
Bed in the room was very low. Anyone with nobility issues would not be able to get up and down off the bed. Room as spacious and furniture okay but signs of wear/damage on furniture and bedding. Carpet was lumpy and a trip hazard between the bathroom and the bedroom.
Plastic cups rather than glasses which was again a bit unusual.
Poetic license bar was nice, barmaid friendly and helpful and there was a good choice of drinks available. Comfy seats and a good view.

First room was bad, went to reception and was upgraded to a much bigger and better room with a sea view.

Lovely hotel next to the beach, very friendly staff happy to help. Good bed comfy, large TV excellent… only issue was the toilet in the bathroom was a bit noisy for a while after flushing, but not a real problem.
Great stay will be back

Very disappointing for the following reasons. Room very small.water cold on shower, however fixed on reporting. Need to consider where you put guests when functions are running/ occurring. Noisy with doors slamming and guests involved in party running up and down corridor shouting. Doors need to have soft close. Think about replenishing the tea/ coffee even if the room not cleaned.

The room was a flight of stairs to the first room , a long a corridor down two flights of stairs which were narrow . Through a heave door only to find the steps down literally as you open the door and then three stairs up to the room . All very narrow and difficult to carry bags . I was asked if I needed help but the main stair case was fine if I had been made aware of how far the room was away I would have taken it .
Staff very friendly

Limited options for vegetarians in the hotel restaurant. Very noisy if you did choose to eat there with a DJ playing loud music in the bar. Coffee in the room and at breakfast was dreadful, please change the brand. Room was nice, but not particularly clean, our view was of an air conditioning duct and the back of a building, bathroom was clean.

As always staff were excellent . Room was beautiful and all in all great stay :)

A little dated, layout like a rabbit warren lots of coridors and stairs so not so great if your of restricted mobility

The hotel had different options for dining and a large bar/restaurant area with a covered outside terrace with excellent staff that were most helpful at all times.
I paid an additional amount for breakfast, however the filter coffee at breakfast was bitter and not very warm. When I asked for a coffee latte there was an additional charge which I think the hotel management should reconsider.

The mattress in my room was worn out and needed to be replaced. However generally I everything was fine.

The bedsheet are not changed when the rooms are cleaned and bathroom are not cleaned, breakfast is bland , no varieties for breakfast.

We had a great stay and the view of the water was excellent. Parking was easy and we had an enjoyable dinner in the restaurant.

First time we’ve stopped there we were very impressed and would definitely stay there again

The access to the room was difficult. The lift was out of order. The room was very cold and overlooked the back lane. It was a very small room but clean. Not the best experience I’ve ever had before.

We stayed in room 122, back of the building looking on to roofs and other buildings. The room was spacious and had a king bed which was very comfortable.the bathroom was large and very outdated, cold, no heating, there’s no grab handle to safely get in and out the tub to use the shower, the shower screen is dangerous, loose and swings out so could lead to an accident. The noise from the plumbing system from our room and the one above was horrific, so loud it actually woke us up when upstairs flushed their toilet and showered . On arrival after locating our room,I asked to move to a room at the front but was told they were EXECUTIVE rooms and £30 a night more. I have stayed in one of these rooms and there’s nothing EXECUTIVE about them, perhaps they think a sea view from small windows is such, not in my opinion. The entire hotel is old, tired, worn and needs major maintenance, investment.

In a very good position with very good views from the front of the hotel. Helpful staff

Great room with a view over the beach. Lovely bar with good food.

Nicely located hotel however very overpriced for what it was, breakfast was not included even though it was £180 for the night and we had dehumidifiers in our room which is clearly related to a wider problem. Staff were nice and friendly.

Great location across the street was the North Sea with pier and lighthouse.

The location was excellent and staff very friendly whenever spoken to.
The Italian restaurant on site (Antico) was superb and couldn’t be faulted.
The bar was nice, very busy. Live dj playing loud music until gone 11pm, this should really be pointed out quite clearly on the listing. It was quite “night clubby” in it’s vibe and wasn’t what we expected at all.
Radiator in room was roasting hot regardless of where the thermostat was so we had to have the window open which only made the noise worse. Bed in the “cosy room” we had was uncomfortable and the sheets covered in hair when we arrived.
Overall, not great and I would expect better quite honestly.

Really enjoyed ourselves the staff where amazing and the food was fantastic, highly recommended the fish and chip friday for 2 only thing that put us off was the long walk to the basement hotel rooms which you also hear the pipework in use when others are using water, apart from that the room itself was fantastic with nice amenities but for the price we paid could have been slightly better, thank you for the loverly stay we cant wait to return

The room was so hot couldnt turn it down and couldnt open the window as it was locked. Bedroom over the kitchen so the fan was running all night. Not a great night 😕
2.0
Was up at 4am due to noisy pipework whistling whilst people showered, flushed toilets and run taps. My room was practically in a different postcode due to its distance and amount of stair cases. After all of this was offered one mornings free breakfast that wasn't really cutting given the quality of stay!

Arrived early and receptionist abrupt and frosty however on return check in with different member of staff very smooth and friendly.
Room furniture was a bit tired and carpet worn however room ambience was good with appropriate theming.
Bed very low and very thin mattress
Bathroom very clean with complimentary toiletries
Parking good plenty of space.
Location with sea view was excellent & within easy access to many bars and restaurants
Overall pleasant experience
Would stay again

Beautiful room. Was a little rip in carpet where the floor raises a bit, bit of a hazard. Tv wasnt in center of the small wall it was mounted on but thats just my ocd kicking in. Overall a great nights stay. Did ask the night porter to help me up to room with luggage as i had a drink from the bar and 2 cases. He said ok but then just went back and sat at his computer. Im not sure if there was a bit of a language barrier. Think i had half a drink left by the time i got to my room. But a lovely stay with a smashing view. Will definitely be back.
