The front desk service was terrible - one person was unfriendly and when we went to leave there was NO one at the front desk for 20 minutes when we were needing to get our bags. The bathroom fan was broken and wouldn't turn off so housekeeping had to come at night to disconnect it from the wall.

The good: great location, within walking distance of everything in Carmel. The room was very clean and well decorated.
The bad; no parking. This can be a real problem. I know a lot of inns located in Carmel don't have much parking but a lot do; Pine Inn, Coachman Inn, Carriage House, Wayside Inn to name a few. Also, this place can be noisy. Make sure you stay upstairs. They have ear plugs in the room for a reason.

Fantastic stay. Very friendly staff and lovely French vibes in all areas of this delightful hotel. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds. Nice European style complimentary breakfast. Walls were a bit thin, and we could hear our neighbors in the middle of the night, hence the provided ear plugs were a thoughtful touch. Every aspect of the room was well thought out and the bathroom had Diptyque products… ooh la la! Great location, walk to shops, restaurants and ocean. Already planning our next stay!

We really liked the room and, especially the bed. The room was quiet and clean and nicely large. When we arrived, we could not find a parking space nearby and the host moved his car so that we could park very close to the entrance.
We enjoyed our first breakfast; service was quite good. The breakfast on our second day did not go well, because there were too many people for the staff to handle. We eventually got our tea and juice and the other breakfast items were supplied.
Parking is a big problem. And some sidewalks are dirt paths.
On the positive side, again, all the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. We especially are grateful to the manager who helped us with TV problems and recommended two very good restaurants for dinners. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Hotel has no dedicated parking, and somewhat difficult to find parking nearby. Requested early checkin but was unable to check in until 4pm

Great Stay. Adorable! Very Clean and friendly atmosphere!

The most charming and special little spot! The decor is very grandma-chic meets french-country. Everything was so curated and thoughtful. The staff was very friendly and we loved the freshly baked evening cookies they brought to the room! The room and grounds were immaculate and the small details were so appreciated. The only negative aspects would be no AC in rooms and no screens on the windows, so it felt a bit stuffy at times. The walls are pretty thin too but luckily our neighbors were all pretty quiet. Overall we would gladly stay here again!

Beautiful rooms & beautiful area

Amazing breakfast.
It was not just a continental breakfast. Champagne and mimosas were also served along with soft boiled eggs. Even though parking was not available, street parking was easily accessible.

The location is prime in the town so you can walk everywhere and the employees were very hospitable and friendly. The two things that stopped this place from being excellent were the lack of parking for even luggage drop off (especially when you are solo) and the bed. I had to drive around quite awhile to find parking. Also, the bed was too hard. Had to sleep with the pillows under my shoulders and hips because I am side sleeper.
They do provide little extra touches and are dog friendly:)

I’ve stayed at both locations in Carmel & this is my favourite.
Pros: Roomy, quiet, equal amenities for breakfast & evening cookies
Cons: Parking

Such a cute place! We loved the friendly staff and joy wish we could have stayed longer!

Love that the hotel is pet friendly and we were able to bring our pup. The hotel is conveniently located to walk to all shops and dining. There is no parking on site but the street parking is available as well as a public parking area just a block away.

One complaint-the exterior ambient music is too loud and stays on too late!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. Everything about this hotel is so charming. The lobby, the courtyard, the rooms- all embodied that quaint bed & breakfast vibe that Carmel by the Sea is known for. From the moment we checked in (thank you, Alex, for the great service and complimentary welcome Rosè!), to the moment we checked out and everything in between, the service was warm, friendly, and professional. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Carmel by the Sea!

Such a great inn that makes Carmel so walkable. The decor was so charming and we loved the fireplace in our room.
The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved the complimentary breakfast, snacks and cookies and even the umbrellas which came in handy for the rainy days. Overall a fan, and we would stay again.

Such an adorable cozy place in a great convenient location close to shops and Carmel beach. Great service and very dog friendly.

Cute old school local B&B style hotel. You feel the owner's love with the property. Street parking only and can be a bit hard to find the parking at the wrong time of the day. The room is clean and modern but still has the motel like feeling a bit. Still a nice hotel right in the downtown Carmel.

Property is very charming and the attention to detail is excellent. The morning breakfast is beautiful and delicious. Only a few cons- downstairs room- we could hear upstairs walking quiet loudly- the bathroom door did not fully close and the tub did not seal to hold water.

This place is great, beds are comfy, amenities are nice, unfortunately rooms are tight so maybe not the best for new romances as the bathroom has little to no privacy. If you are in the mood you can check out bikes and take them for a spin.

We loved our stay at Le Petit Pali, and all of the delightful surprises: sparkling rose' at check in, beer-tastings, tasty breakfast offerings, cozy spots to gather, bicycles to borrow...plus in the beautifully decorated rooms were comfy robes, a straightening iron, cookies each night and other amenities. The location was perfect...just a block from the shops and restaurants, and a walk to the beach and scenic drive. We traveled with our daughter and son-in-law, and will certainly return!

We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel was in a great location that we able to walk to the Main Street. There is no parking on site so you either have to park on the street or there is a free public parking spot about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. From the beach to the hotel it is an uphill climb so for those with mobility issues I would recommend driving. There is a lot of public parking nearby the beach.

Great renovation and very comfortable, but the shower wasn't great and parking on the weekend was difficult.

Very nice - quiet and clean. Great breakfast too!

So adorable, so noisy. This is one of the cutest, most instagramable hotels I’ve ever seen. The staff was wonderful and so polite, the courtyard was gorgeous, the location perfect. The problem was the acoustics. Zero insulation wood floors = a very noisy night. We could hear every move/sound/sneeze from the surrounding rooms. Could also hear every word from people in the courtyard (who were speaking at a reasonable level). The hotel provided ear plugs but they weren’t much help. I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it was not a very restful, relaxing stay.

I love our stay in here. From the room to the service, everything is well thought of.
Highlights:
1. Fresh cookies every 6-7pm.
2. Eco-friendly water and chocolates restock everyday.
3. The beach bag and the beach towels they provide is a smart idea.
4. Welcome drinks
5. Beautiful courtyard
6. Doesn’t matter if it is non-airconditioned, you don’t need one.
7. Bed, pillows, linens - very comfortable. Slept soundly the entire stay.
8. Bitossi glassware and the coaster on the water adds wonderful touch
9. Diptyque toiletries. Hair tools, steamer, hot bag.
Some minor suggestions that I can add but not a deal breaker:
1. Add another garbage bin inside the room. You can only find one in the bathroom.
2. Change the breakfast menu. We stayed there for 5 nights, it would be nice to have some variety. Example but not limited to: 8 minute boiled egg for Monday then maybe another style of egg on a Tuesday. Add maybe a lox or a bagel section. I understand that the fruit stand adds aesthetics to the common area. Pls specify the name of the fruit in the fruit stand corner and add if it is washed or needs to be wash.
I really enjoyed the variety of juice you offer.
3. A feet rinsing area with a basket of small towels and a chair somewhere in the corner of the courtyard. Doesn’t need to be big maybe closer to where the bikes are.
Shout out to Desi, Shaq and Leslie :) thank you for making our stay wonderful and memorable.

Unfortunately, the quality of the shower was not on par with a high-end property. Also raccoons were foraging in the garbage bins right under our windows all night, keeping us awake.

Absolutely beautiful property! The staff were very welcoming and there for any questions that came up. The whole decor from the front desk to the courtyard to our room was super cute. There are two things that I would recommend. One, fixing the water pressuring in the shower and the other is to have a gluten free pastry option in the morning. Looking forward to next time!

Le Petit Pali is even better than a home away from home... I cannot think of anything they could improve... the front desk attendant, the waiter durial social hour event, the waitress during the exquisite breakfast were just nice, customer-oriented and well fabulous.. I also highly recommend the playlist Le Petit Pali has put together on Spotify... best place to stay in Carmel!

If I spent hours searching for a negative comment to make about LPP, I could not. We had a perfect stay! Staff are lovely, check in and service (including breakfast) was just lovely! Can’t wait to return. ❤️
