I would stay at Shoshone Inn an entire trip. As my base. Very nice room tastefully appointed. A nice line of calming creams as a welcome gift on the bed. 2 waters in fridge. Another very pretty bag with toiletries. Kurig with choices. Super nice touches. Bed and pillows could have been more comfortable but it's not a game changer. Help yourself to bagels, condiments, fruit, yogurt, and coffee. Such a great base to explore Shoshone. 2 days at least. There are so many cool trails, gardens, ponds and history... everywhere! Close to Baker Ca, a quirky town in itself. China Date farm ranch(yum!) and fantastic trails abound. Dublin Gulch really cool hike through. And so much more. To be out all day exploring and then go back to the Inn to relax in the natural warm mineral spring pool. Just a heads up, I took a walk to the pool about 4pm. The walk in that area, from the Inn through the conservation area, is more beautiful at every turn. But the pool area was very noisy with children.

Looks like a modest roadside motel but has really nice rooms. The warm mineral pool is a plus. You can walk to a restaurant across the street, and that has pretty good food and a bar. The town itself is truly tiny and is in the boondocks, just south of Death Valley. Be aware the kitchenette rooms don't have stoves, just a microwave and minifridge and a couple of spoons, bowls, and cups, so don't think you're going to cook anything there. The check in person was nice and said there would be bagels, fruit, yogurt and coffee in the office in the morning but the place was still locked up and dark when we had to leave at 7:30am so we missed out on that.

Amazing place on the edge of Death Valley.
Room was clean, spacious and well equipped.
Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Loads of info around local amenities.
Plus there’s a tortoise sanctuary so you can see the desert tortoises!

My group of friends had a very stressful day with a lot of plans, and we were not able to find out when the check in closed. We called them several times and even left a message. We did not hear anything. We ended up by the hotel at about 00:00 am, but by then we found out that the check in closes at 10:00 pm. We tried calling again. Nothing. Lost like 400 $ on this + we had to stress with finding something new during the night.

Great hotel near Death Valley national park. There is no service but the wifi worked great. We only stayed for a night after the park but it was an enjoyable stay. I forget her name but the woman at the front desk was amazing as well!

It is the last opportunity to stay before entering death valley, when you turn left at the next junction. So you can buy enough to drink (and perhaps to eat) to travel 75 miles through the valley until you reach for example the Ranch at Furnace Creek. There is a moderate warm swimming pool just around the corner. It is permanently fed by a warm natural source or spring. Every guest may have a key to visit it.

Very nice property. A great place to stay after a day at Death Valley National Park

On arrival, the place looked pretty rough. But, the office and room had been remodeled.Like most of Death Valley, the place is old. Floor sagged a bit and the doors didn't quite line up. But, it was clean and well furnished. The Air Conditioner is heavy duty, a plus down there. Good blackout drapes.Hotel breakfast not impressive. Over all, a good experience.

Service was excellent. We ate dinner outside at a table they provided following swim in hot spring pool. That evening we sat around the fire sharing wine with other guests. It was an amazing experience.

The location is convenient to Death Valley if you cannot get a room in the park. The lady is very friendly. It provides breakfast though it is simple but w/ fruits! It is an old hotel but clean enough!

Jennifer at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful in letting me know about things to do in the area. The outside of my motel building was a little rundown, but the interior was bright and clean and remodeled. I would stay here again.

The host pays attention to small details such as personal hygiene amenities. The accommodation resembles a small resort, friendly and gives the feeling of being on vacation.

This is a property that is a little out of the way. The twon is owned by one person but the Inn, the restaurant accross the street and the gas station next door, Were all worth it. We stayed there while visiting Death Valley. It was a lot less expensive than staying int the park.

Room was very small but extremely clean and well equipped. The owner was very friendy and helpful, telling us where to eat (the only restaurant in town was closed) and some things to do.

Convenient location is main draw. Old facility, very worn. Office staffed only limited hours. Was told there would be coffee in the office in the morning but it was locked and no one was around.

We love the Shoshone Inn! Great little check in from Jennifer, she was very helpful and the small bit of care and local info really added to our experience. Very quiet (room 12), comfy and clean bed, great bathroom and we highly recommend the nature trail and walk to the mineral pool. What a sweet little town! Gift shop / general store was the greatest : awesome souvenirs and local snacks , and the restaurant across the street was excellent; we ate Mexican food and highly recommend the homemade chips and real deal milkshake… overall this town has it all and the Inn is at the heart of it .
The highlight was looking outside our window to see the desert tortoise rescue pen. Friendly animals, but as the signs say do not feed them. I was very excited because that was my first time meeting a desert tortoise.
Thank you for a great stay on our baby moon and honeymoon trip!!!

Spent 2 nights while visiting Death Valley national park. Conveniently located within one hour of the park, quiet, clean, friendly staff. Repeat customers, will stay again.

When I first arrived and saw the exterior I was worried because it looked quite old. However, when I opened the door to my room I was quite pleased with what I saw. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. My only complaints are the low water pressure in the shower and no key drop box for early checkout.

The Shoshone Inn was lovely. Modern, comfortable, clean rooms. I would definitely stay there again. The trees in the courtyard are beautiful to sit under while enjoying the fire pit. Staff were super friendly. We were less impressed by the Crowbar and recommend dining in nearby Tecopa.

This is a wonderful property for such a tiny, out of the way place, and the adjacent general store and the restaurant across the road are also great. My only caveat is that it lacks soundproofing, and has adjoining doors and laminate floors that don't mute as carpet does, so my neighbors' television and morning conversation were fully audible. But a lovely, well-maintained and remodeled place in keeping with the majestic surroundings.

While it looked a little scruffy on the exterior, the room itself was nice and clean, seems like it’s been refurbished recently. Would have liked more plugs for charging. Overall, a clean comfy place to stay.

The rooms are simple and basic. This is a MOtel, not a hotel. Floor had all kinds of little pieces of gravel on it - like they didn't bother to vacuum it. The bathroom is tiny, the showerhead made for shortish people - I'm 5'6" and I barely fit under it, but someone taller would struggle. We had an ice bucket in our room but couldn't find an ice machine. When my husband went to the front desk to ask reception where the ice machine was, the desk was unoccupied. He counted 8 people waiting to check in... After about 15 minutes of waiting he gave up. The restaurant was poor as well - limited choices on the menu, and what we had (Reuben sandwich and ham/cheese sandwich) was as greasy as they could be. There is NO PHONE SERVICE of any type at this motel, however there is strong Wi-Fi in the rooms

Didn't get to stay roads washed out, flooding & no restaurant open in town. Owners were kind enough to refund our 1st night back to us.

Love the historic structures and open space in this area. Museum accross the street has alot of great displays along with a resteraunt ajoining the museum property that has cool displays throught out including out back.

Very well appointed and contemporary bed linens. Lovely bath products. Great lighting in the room. Fancy feel in a rural community.

Looks like an old mid century roadside motel from the road...but the rooms are very up to date with quality amenties. We had a mini-kitchen which had microwave, fridge, decent coffee maker, sink, some dishes, and small table with two stools. In addition they have fruit, yogurt, and bagels you can toast in the office after 8am. The warm spring pool is a few minutes walk away and could be a tad warmer for my taste, but we had it to ourselves. We'll be back.
