Very good location near the main pedestrian street. We got a corner room with sea views in all directions, better than advertised. Somewhat limited breakfast. Helpful staff. Recommended.

The pool and grounds are gorgeous. Nice staff. Patio with insane view of Etna. Right at the end of the Corso Umberto, so you are really close to all the restaurants and shops, but it’s quieter at this hotel.

We stayed 6 nights in August . It is a very elegant historical building and the proximity to the city center is great . The breakfast was delicious , and the staff are so accommodating . The pool area is gorgeous overlooking Mt Etna The hotel location is the best

The pool is great for when midday is too hot to explore the city. Dining, pool, and housekeeping staff are kind, though front desk/receptionist not so much. There was a wedding reception one of the nights during our stay and since our room was just above the banquet hall, it was a bit noisy. The tub/shower configuration isn't ideal and leads to very wet floors but is manageable. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

An aging grand hotel with a beautiful location at the beginning of the center of Taormina, which needs some renovation in places. The staff is friendly, the valet parking is extremely convenient, and the spacious pool area with beautiful trees offers a great view of the sea and Mount Etna.

This was our tenth visit to this lovely hotel. We love it here and the rooms are lovely and comfortable and the staff are delightful. Nothing is too muich trouble. The pool is fantastic We will be back! :-)

We love coming back to this hotel every time we come to Sicily. The service is outstanding, the rooms excellent, the poo amazing. All the staff are also wonderful to me and my children. Looking forward to next years trip already

A grand hotel in a great location. Interior slightly sparse and dated but clean and mostly functional. Only meaningful complaint is WiFi in the rooms is non-existant - works fine in the lobby, but not at all in the room. Very inconvenient. Breakfast buffet is excellent. The lower gardens are beautiful, well-maintained, have spectacular views and relaxing - absolutely do not miss them!

Excellent property and very convenient to all attractions in Taormina. A giant multi-tiered parking lot is located next to the hotel. Property is clean and has a fantastic charm of the Art Nouveau style, and Hotel staff was extremely efficient, pleasant and very helpful and there for every need of mine.

Staff are excellent, especially on the Reception Desk (Giuseppe and Simona particularly helpful). Food is good. Only let-down is decor which is a bit tired, but then it doesn't purport to be a 5-star establishment.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Excelsior. It has the most beautiful poor area I had ever seen. The rooms and hotel in general have a bit of that old fashioned Italian vibe which I loved but the pool was everything ! We certainly will stay here again if we come back to Taormina.

We loved our stay here! The staff were very friendly and we were able to even check in early. The breakfast had many options and the bar was also great for a nightcap. The pool is spectacular with panoramic views and plenty of loungers. The water wasn’t too cold and they keep it clean. It’s really the views though that make it worth the walk. The room was nice and big with a large bathroom. If you are driving we found parking at Porta Catania which is right beside the hotel which allows up to 48 hours (paid of course). Once you park you just go up to level 7 and you are in Taormina! Definitely recommend this place to make your trip to Taormina even more special.

Lots of old world charm, but the rooms are not well-appointed by contemporary standards - need real showers - not confined ship-like showers. TV in room is small and far from the beds. No AC even though it's warm in the Spring here now. Hotel has space - could use a fitness center. The best part is the gardens/pool and the magnificent views. Staff are a bit uptight about certain things, but overall the stay is enjoyable.

The information on the website was not consistent with the property. The personnel was helpful but the furnishings in the lobby needed some updating… they appeared worn & tired. The room was satisfactory but the bathroom was difficult to maneuver in. The location was great & convenient.
