The property is in a need of better maintenance. During our stay they were not able to have the 2 elevators running at the same time. My nephew is in wheel chair and it was a challenge. Staff helped but much better have everything running well.

A very nice hotel in the best location in Fortaleza.
The staff is friendly, the breakfast is great, and the bed is super comfortable.

Loved the pool area and the gym but the room was very old

Great location, poolbar, and service. I also like the beds. I would like a lager roomservice menu. Othervice great hotel.

This was a good hotel for the price. The front desk service was good and the breakfast they offered was great. Perfect location! Right across the street from the beach on Beira Mar. I felt safe the entire stay. Only complaint is that the bathroom shower was a little moldy.

We loved the open air spaces such as the hotel lobby, the wrap around veranda for dining and the wonderful breakfast bar with more than something for everyone overlooking the beach.

We stayed at The Mareiro as part of a larger group. The hotel is ageing a little in parts and the beach front is currently undergoing upgrade works which probably will take at least another 12 months.
The staff are friendly and there is a nice pool and small gym area. The main restaurant is a little limited in its choice but the food quality was OK.
Whilst being a beach front hotel the general feel of the area to us was that it was not entirely safe. Brazil is a country of vast extremes in terms of social well being and the streets are full of homeless people many of whom beg, but also those who are criminalised and possibly know no better. I would imagine it is easy to be a victim here.
The hotel was good in making sure that cabs were of the licensed type, and in general there was little to complain about. The wi-fi was good and housekeeping carried out daily by trust worthy and friendly staff.
The breakfast area is on a nice terrace overlooking the beach with a creperie, that makes fresh crepes, waffles and omelettes to order as you watch them. That gave a great start to each day.
The area around the hotel is surrounded by much newer development reflecting the money that is obviously being spent in regeneration of the area in general, however the infrastructure around it is slow to keep pace with roads particularly poor in condition.
In general we had no real complaints about the hotel which served as a decent base for our stay.

The morning breakfast was nice - the rooms are just ok - they are old and could use updating. The staff is very friendly and nice.

The bathroom was discussing. It had back mold! The sheets didn’t smell fresh and the room was very run down. SO DIRTY! It was my second time and last in this hotel. I mentioned to the front desk but they didn’t seem interested in fixing it. Not with it even with the good location. Very disappointing!!

Nice location- in a lovely picturesque city.... but the room condition was shabby. Leaking water faucets, crawling spiders on the wall, stained walls, not even a box of tissue paper! A leaking roof right outside my door. Humidity in the room at nearly 100% and A/C did not seem to respond to temp. settings. Could do with better lighting. Service was nice- polite & smiling with exception to the sulky Bartender and equally lousy tasting red wine they serve.

Friendly English speaking staff. Nice clean pool and hot tub. Pool bar. Great location. Good WiFi. Hot water and good water pressure. Walking distance to many things in the area. Uber is affordable in Brazil also. Great breakfast included too. Buffet style many options.

Hotel caters for groups of tourists, and public areas can be a little crowded. Clean and comfortable room. Only problem being that plugs required are non standard and reception do not carry adaptors.

Nice area located, nice pool and ocean view area. A Perfect breakfast room with a lot of food with the ocean breeze

Location is spot on! Right by the beach. View is great. Pool service is awesome with swim up bar. Makes for a great place to hang out after a day at the beach and the sun goes down. Sauna could have been warmer. Outdoor gym seemed nice. Room service was great. Good options for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again if in town. Wifi is free but a little slow while streaming Netflix.

We rented 3 rooms and when we arrived there were only 2 rooms available. Did told s that they disn't get the mail for the 3 th room from expedia. The next day they arranged a 3 th room. The breakfast was not as expected. Bread was old the first morning the bread had fungas on it. The fruit was green. So that was not a good experience. Overall the hotel is in good shape and is very nice

Hotel is good and located in a nice location on Avenida Beira Mar but pricey to what offers. The hotel guests are to be least desired for, I think the hotel may have put out a promotional offer on this day. Hotel guests were the least enjoyable experience but I know there is nothing else the hotel can do.

While the room was a bit underwhelming, they added a lot of nice touches. The view, access, breakfast, pool, and friendliness/helpfulness of the staff were all highlights.

Located on Avenida Beira Mar, just a few feet away from the beach, this hotel is a treat. A walk on the beach while enjoying any of the multiple restaurants and cafes there makes it great fro a vacation. I stayed in it for 2 nights for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Quarter Final Match between Brazil and Colombia. Only one downside: the AC in my room didn't work - I brought the hotel's staff attention to it but no action has been taken unfortunately. The cool weather made me complain less.

Great location and clean room, with a large pool. But we thought we were splurging for a night to stay here and were disappointed in the small room. The location was great and pool were excellent though.

Had a flying visit from UK for 5 nights to taste some World Cup atmosphere including the Uruguay Costa Rica game. I was a bit unsure of the hotel at first when I walked down a dark corridor to what appeared, as previous reviewer has noted, a fairly basic looking room. But there was no need to worry, it was a perfect choice and I had a brilliant stay. The room had a minibar, safe, good air-con, great shower and I slept well.
The big positives of this hotel are:
Superb location – it is halfway along the Beira Mar tourist strip. Ideal to simply cross the road for a stroll on the sandy beach.
Free wifi kept me in contact and saved a packet on my phone bill.
4 bottles of water provided free daily, very useful as it was so hot and humid in the evening.
Breakfast – very pleasant on the terrace and plenty of choice including freshly made omelettes to order.
Pool. Long enough to swim a few lengths or, one of my highlights, sitting in the water watching one of the games on the screen above the pool bar.
I had a 3rd floor room with balcony overlooking pool which was nice. Newer taller buildings surround the hotel so I don’t know what the other rooms were like. There was a power cut on one of the first days but this was fixed within a few hours.

The Hotel was clean, service was great! I recommend staying on this hotel. The location is fantastic ( beach front and next to the markets). Good for families as there are looks of kids activities on Beira Mar.

The internet is the room was problematic for mobile devices, good for laptops, which I still don't understand why.
The stuff was very nice and helpful during my stay.

This hotel is located in the center of thie city, from here you can go to other beaches, go to nice restaurant and shopping areas, and have acces to the beach. The hotel itself is under renovation, so it was noisy early in the morning, the breakfast buffet was nice with an omeolette and crepe station, the pool is nice. The hotel has that feeling of being in an outdated building but hopefully renovations will bring it up to date.Irt is also not too far from the airport, only a $30 taxi ride.
