“Cottages “ looked a bit rough, but we’re clean & private hot tub was a plus. Parking convenient. Front porch of house delightful in the sun.

Difficult to find our room on the sprawling property(user error?!) but the place was perfect!

Big room and a great mattress. Location is good. Close to the restaurants and the park. Coffee machine, microwave and mini fridge are convenient if you want to eat in your room. Overall very nice property.

Great place in Mendocino.

The Mccallum House Suites are located just out of the center of town. Easy walking to everything. Each suite is different, the ones in the top floor have lovely views. Ours was on the ground floor in front, still nice views but the garden in front needs some attention.

It was a very nice room with a large bathtub, however there was hardly any hot water.

We love the location. The staff was accommodating. We had dinner at the restaurant. It would have been better if they offer breakfast. Overall we will be coming back.

The room was comfortable, but with lots of noise from the MacCallum House restaurant just outside the window. There is nobody at the front desk, except 10am - 7pm. If something is neeeded, there is a phone number but it connects to a voice mail --and they don't reply to the voice mail until after 10 am.

We loved this house .. had great stay

Surprised to find that our accommodations were up the hill off property. Nobody told us you had to request maid service to get your room made up. There was nobody on the off site property if you needed anything. The room was large and bed very comfortable.

We stayed away from the main house in a suite. It was a wonderful rustic setting up on the hill with a view of the ocean in the distant background.

Having booked using hotels.com I thought I was going to be in a room in the main house, so scoring a little cottage with a personal jacuzzi was a real win! The patio space was so peaceful, the shops all around were so cute to walk and the bluffs were gorgeous and so refreshing. I notice the trash was not taken out during our stay, and the towels were not changed, but it was a short trip and didn’t bother me much. The outlet in the bathroom had a plant growing through, and a few ants tiptoeing in through it, but again, didn’t bother me much. I’d definitely book again! The deli next door is a MUST try too!

I started at room 16 in the MacCallum converted barn. Located right near the road light and airy, but no tub or fireplace.16 is great for friends, but nobar or restaurant due to covid. I made a comment on line and was offered #14 around the corner. No views, but a wood fireplace and a spa tub. I was happily soaking my old bones, almost 70. And a fire when i was done. Happy camper.

The room was spacious with nice amenities. The outdoor jacuzzi was great. Unfortunately couple things could have been better: 1. Overall speaking room was pretty clean, but there was black dirt stuff under the chair (saw it when trying to pick up toys), also carpet was detached from floor along the walls 2. Water pressure was low so only one person can use water at a time (no brushing teeth when someone is in shower).

We love this property, and Mendocino. During COVID, it's important to note that there is no breakfast available - not just at MacCallum House, but ANYWHERE in Mendocino! There's one bakery with a VERY limited menu, but otherwise everything's closed until lunch.
As for the stay, the room was great, the staff is wonderful and helped us a lot, and the one meal we had at MacCallum was delicious!

In some ways - I hate to write a bad review because of Covid-19.
We booked a “deluxe room” - not cheap either.
We were given a room in the Barn. Terrible - no where to sit outside, people walking by who could look in your window. Suppose to have a “garden view” but the garden was the outdoor restaurant. Which was not open Tuesday / Wednesday. Room 16 - would not recommend it without the current conditions either.
No service at all - everything closed on the property. When booking, please read all the details about the property.
Mendocino is almost totally closed during the week. The surrounding landscape is beautiful and the views - great for walking.

We loved the MacCallum House Inn! Great stay and the staff was super friendly. They gave us an upgraded room and it had a gorgeous view!

Not sure whether it was COVID related or not, but for a two night stay our room was never cleaned. We ended up making up our bed again and replenishing the room coffee supply from the maintenance room. Overall, the people are super nice. We had a wonderful and tasty dinner out in the courtyard.

Super clean. Wait staff in the eating areas are very cordial

We enjoyed our stay in the suites even though we had to walk to the village. The hotel staff was just okay. There was some confusion about whether our room was ready. One person said one thing then another staff said no. Very good restaurant and good service. One of the best eggs Benedict I"ve ever had. Good for the price. Would recommend it.

I had planned a one-night stop in Mendocino. The town is beautifully located. Check-in was OK. The suite was quiet, very comfortable and in good condition. However, the suites are adjacent to a cemetery and are a couple of blocks away from the main house that is pictured on Expedia and offer no views at all. Breakfast was included but it was a waste of time: it took about 20 minutes to be seated, another 30 minutes for order-taking (after alerting one of the servers), and another 20 minutes for a mistaken order of below-average pancakes and yogurt parfaits. To her credit, the server was apologetic and didn't charge for beverages not included in breakfast. Good bed, no views, not so good breakfast. Not a good value for the price paid.

This Hotel and town is the most charming place we have visited in many years. Everyone was so friendly. Spectacular views in all directions! Fabulous dinner! We can't wait to return! And we will !!!!

Highly recommend the suites for a short trip to Mendocino. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is fabulous although a bit on the high-end range.

The room was extremely pleasant. On their website, the picture of the room looked very pink. However in person it was much more pleasant, very faint. So take some of the pictures with a grain of salt. The provided soaps/lotions/bath salts were of top quality and very luxurious.
The breakfast that came with the room was incredible. Even without the breakfast the room was fantastic, but with the inclusion of the breakfast it makes the MacCallum House a wonderful stay. The room was nice and roomy - with upgraded windows and such. It was very comfortable. The room we had even had a balcony that we could eat lunch on. I highly recommend the deluxe rooms.

We loved our stay with the McCallum Properties. We stayed in the main house, and were given a free upgrade to a larger room with king bed at the staff's suggestion. The restaurant is excellent, the breakfast (poached eggs on crab-cakes) unsurpassed by any of our many "bed and breakfast" experiences. You will not be disappointed at Mendocino.

I booked a "suite" that was advertised as in a different building, but turned out to be out of the village and required a car to get to the main house for breakfast. Suite was large and had been elegant, but now in need of maintenance/repair and updating. Very quiet, however, and breakfast was wonderful! Restaurant service great - hotel service was uninspired. Room phone did not work.
