Wonderful chateau ambience and lovely host make you feel like you're invited to spend the weekend at the Downton Abbey. Breakfast was plentiful.

Unique and beautiful. Great location and perfect setting.

Gorgeous Chateau in a beautiful, bucolic location. Loved the surrounding property, especially the pool (one of the reasons we chose this place.) Because the chateau is so old, there could be more upkeep/maintenance. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Very nice experience but hotel doesn’t have amenities or air conditioning. Owner is very helpful and chateau is close to Tours!

Extremely welcoming and friendly host that goes above and beyond to provide the best experience. Upon our arrival, given the availability she upgraded us to a more spacious room with view on the garden. When we asked if she had alternative milk she even made a trip to the grocery store nearby to get us some soy milk for breakfast. The chateau is part of collection chain of individually owned chateaux and restaurants. Definitely recommend it!

This is a beautiful, lovely chateau with gorgeous wooded setting and views. The original family runs the chateau and lends an intimate feel to the stay. Rooms are ample size with large wardrobes, bathrooms remodeled and spacious, and many rooms have marble fireplaces and canopied, comfortable beds. Petit dejeuner is very generous with eggs, fruit, croissants and fresh espresso coffee. Lovely china and table settings in a stately dining room. No air conditioning, but evenings are comfortable and windows adequately cool at night. No dinners anymore, but nearby Tours offers many options.

Madame de Lussac was the best hostess one could ask for... After the gps in our Renault sent us to the wrong location (should have followed Google Maps), she waited up for us and gave us directions to arrive. The room was clean and had a beautiful view of the valley. No a/c was needed as we could open the windows and had fresh air with no bugs! The wifi was strong and had no connection issues. The continental breakfast was delicious and had the best croissants we have tried to date. She even made my daughter special hot chocolate! Madame de Lussac also had great recommendations for dining and where to find great local vineyards! Unfortunately we did not have enough time to enjoy the outdoor heated pool, but it looked very nice. If you are looking for a modern hotel with Ikea furiture, this is not the place. If you want to stay in a HOME with history and soul, this is a great location. We are in Paris now, but miss the chateau and the life lived there. Our hope is to return and spend more time in the Loire. Merci beaucoup!!!

We had the loveliest experience at Chateau de lAubriere. The chateau itself is so lovely and was one of the highlights of our trip. The grounds were also magnificent and we were greeted in the morning but deer grazing in the grass. The best part of our experience was the hostess and I apologize for having forgotten her name. She was so charming and accommodating, upgrading our room for us when she realized she had a vacancy. Her restaurant recommendation, La Mere Hamard, also proved to be the best meal of our entire three week trip. Only complaint is that we didnt stay more days!

An authentic Château experience in a peaceful setting! Comtesse du Lussac looked after us beautifully during our 4 night’s stay. She advised us on the best castles to visit depending on the weather & made dinner reservations for us each night. Her English was excellent so you will have no worries. Our room was extremely spacious & the decor was perfect for the age of the castle. The picturesque village location was well situated to visit castles to the north and south. The city of Tours was less than 10 kilometres away. If you would like to experience authentic French culture from the Loire Region, this is a great option.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this delightful chateau. For an old building it has been maintained in good condition. The grounds are picturesque and the room, with a jacuzzi bath, was comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and the above and beyond service given to me, as a female travelling on my own with only rudimentary French was so nice to receive.

Perfect for a romantic stay in the Loire valley. Very friendly owner, beautiful grounds (even a swimming pool), nice location a short drive from many sights. Rooms furnished just as a chateau should be. I loved it

Wonderful palace north of Tours, very characteristic rooms. Very friendly owner. Had a restaurant before, but not anymore.

The stay in the chateau was fantastic. The room was large and comfortable and well appointed. The Countess (owner) was a very gracious hostess and was very helpful with information about the local area and tourist sights. With 16 acres of park like grounds to ensure tranquility, the stay was pleasant and restful.

Lovely owner sweetly checked us in and escorted us to our room. Pre-reserved candle-lit dinner was enjoyable, from both the French cuisine and the friendly server. I wish we had had time to wander more of the grounds.

We arrived at the Chateau during a rally race where all the streets were blocked. We walked up to the chateau only to find out the owner had emailed Expedia 2 weeks prior to let them know the Chateau would be closed for the race and we wouldnt be staying there that night. The owner was extremely kind of very helpful in finding us a new chateau to stay in and made all the necessary calls and arrangements; we were very sad not to be staying at LAubriere but highly recommend from the very helpful staff.

Beautiful chateau in a spacious garden. The decoration is excellent. Feels like you are staying in a palace. The hostess was a very social, kind lady (we loved her peacock). Too bad we didn't know about the candle light dinner which had to be ordered two days in advance. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed our stay very much! The owner was very helpful and cooked a nice 5 course meal served by a very good waiter. Conversation with the owner added our special evening. Only drawback was a broken toilet seat in our room.

Chateau was very quite. It is away for the main city of Tours. The owener is a very sweet lady she catered to our every needs. As well she is the chef. And boy can this lady cook well. The pool was a great plus and free parking. She is in a good spot to visit all the near by castles. This region has 72 castles to see. Would recoment to stay here.

Beautiful place relaxing and pleasant
Good location and the lady that in charge of the castle was very nice

A charming proprietress quickly making us feel at home. The chateau has a faded beauty and far more character than a newer hotel. Evening meal was disappointing but breakfast was fine.

The hotel is a beautiful Chateau with a charming atmosphere. The Comtesse treats all guests as if it was their home for the duration of their stay, with the added enjoyment of the optional 'surprise' supper, personally prepared and served with flair. a most enjoyable stop-over on our way through France, thoroughly recommended!

A delightful family-run chateau outside Tours. You would need a car or taxi to get into Tours, but there is plenty of parking. Quiet and peaceful
