Well located for shopping and transport hub. Very friendly greeting and check in by Andrew who made us feel very welcome.
Room was clean and tidy.
Would have liked some gluten free options at breakfastotherr than cereal and my choice of tea not available although advertised on the menu.
Overall a nice stay for an overnight trip.

Liverpool city centre on a bank holiday in August is not quiet, but the Sir Thomas is a fine, central hotel with a big restaurant, good friendly service and excellent breakfast. I’ll stay there again.

Great beautiful hotel.

Really nice looking hotel, very good value, perfectly decent room, my son loved it. Only drawbacks were 1) don’t stay here if you are bothered by late night party noise. Didn’t bother us but it might some. 2) telly didn’t work. The duty manager tried really hard to fix it without success, but no major bother. 3) there was a malfunction in the kitchen which made breakfast a bit tricky, but we just wanted continental so again was no bother.

This hotel met all our needs .

Ideal location for site seeing.
Very noisy at night though.
Parking was more expensive than expected.
Good breakfast

Hotel has been modernised . Bathroom is nice and modern, beds comfy and very clean . Nice 3 star. Staff are so helpful and friendly and a great choice in the restaurant, which has a nice bar . Have stayed a few times and will stay again .

Friendly staff, breakfast was lovely, central to everything sightseeing in Liverpool which was great - you can walk nearly everywhere if you have the legs for it. Only downside to the stay was the noise of the traffic through the windows, could do with getting double or triple glazing to block out some of the noise. Overall though a great hotel for a few days away

Really nice hotel within walking distance of shops/bars , staff friendly and helpful

Brilliant staff but no air con so was stifflingly warm. Fried egg with my breakfast was swimming in grease.
3.8
Generally a good stay, and would recommend. Only downside, not hotel-related, was that some of Liverpools lovely residents and seagulls kept us awake.

A one night stay at this hotel. Room was decorated very garishly. Deep purple throughout. Not sure who chose this. Room had no air conditioning, so was a bit stuffy after a warm day; and the window only opens a fraction (understandably for safety reasons) bed was a bit uncomfortable.
However, it was clean and fairly spacious; and

They should provide a room for keeping suitcases safe as most people staying will be visitors to the city & don’t want to be pulling a suitcase around until checkin time at 3pm

The hotel was very average and basic. The decor was nice, but you could tell it had been done on the cheap. Generally the facilities were ok, nothing special - kettle and hair dryer were both cheap and not great quality.
No added niceties like moisturiser etc in the bathroom which was a shame.
Also a pet peeve - the bed was two singles pushed together so not the comfiest of beds.
Room was clean and location was absolutely perfect. Although, the windows were the thinnest I’ve ever experienced and we were woken up all through the night as we could hear EVERYTHING from outside.
Woman at reception when we arrived was so rude and abrupt, but everyone else who we dealt with was friendly.

great location, our room was really clean

The hotel was very well placed and good value.
Breakfast was good, with a good choice.
Drinks were reasonably priced and the beds were comfortable.

Nice location. Lovely staff. The room was yet to be refurbished and so did not match the photos/description that we booked, but we were still charged the same price! If you have 1 floor left to refurbish and dont make paying customers aware prior to arrival, thats not a nice experience.
Didnt eat so can't comment on food. We arrived back at 11pm and were hoping to get a night cap but could only get a bottle as they hadnt done their spirits or draught training... disappointing.
They had menus in the room but no times of food on. A phone in the room with no instructions/way to call reception. We asked if they did breakfast as room service and were told they were in the process of rolling it out (probably not on our floor again).
A lot of light entered the room being on the street and only having old blinds. Bring ear plugs if you want to sleep.
All in all not somewhere I would stay at again - at least not on that floor and if they sort out the basics - it has the potential to be a nice place.

Hotel room was satisfactory, definitely in need of an update and not spotless but does the job. We were put in a room on the first floor, looking out on to the high street and we may as well have been sleeping in the bar it was that noisy. Loud music up until 3am. Hotel staff were pleasant enough, we attempted to purchase a bottle of water from the bar after being told we could do by the receptionist - we were met with an abrupt and rude “no” by the barman. All in all - if you’re looking for a cheap stay and don’t plan on sleeping much, it’ll do the job. Otherwise I would recommend elsewhere

Amazing hotel with an amazing price! Will definitely be coming back:)

Wouldn’t hold bags before check in, staff on reception told me they would come get me when room was ready but they clearly didn’t intend to and left me waiting until I chased.

My partner and I have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. Please read on and do not book here.
We arrived in the city earlier than our check-in and thought we'd at least go and leave our luggage if check in was not possible. There was no facility to do this and check in was not till 1500.
When we did return we were checked in quickly by friendly staff to a second floor that was being renovated. The room was almost entirely painted shiny dark purple. There were cobwebs and stains on the ceiling, holes in the walls and no shower curtain in the bathroom (not a modern wet room) and the radiator could not be switched on so it was certainly fresh in the room.
The first morning we were awoken just after 0800 to the sound of drilling that sounded like workmen were about to break through the wall to join us. Sawing and general renovation racket continued till we gave up on sleep and got ready. The following morning was a Saturday and we were glad that the contractor only do a 5 day week. However it was the day for the bins to get filled in the alley below our window so sleep was impossible again. This Hotel should have given notice of possible ongoing work or closed.

The staff were really nice and welcoming and the room was clean however the shower was really cold and there was a draft coming from the window which made the room also cold.
3.8
Hotel is in great location but the room was run down and cold. Bar area was nice.
3.8
Very central location
3.8
Room 312 damp in corner of room , dirty towels , uncomfortable bed, staff were nice
3.8
Easy check in and polite staff
3.8
Bathroom stank of 'off' drains / stagnant water. Rooms are a bit weird and rather tacky - shiny purple paint over old anaglypta wallpaper. Wouldn't stay again
3.8
Hotel is well positioned centre of Liverpool, Staff are excellent and service great. Room was big and very clean and tidy. Bed was so old and uncomfortable that was only issue with a thin mattress.
3.8
Nice quiet stay

Nothing wrong, but nothing great. For the money it good. But it’s basic but that’s all a room is for a night out. Would stay again.
3.8
Very nice hotel big rooms and very clean
3.8
This hotel is well located in the lively area of the city, the music out in the surrounding area was noticeable but didn’t trouble us
3.8
Absolutely terrible, room was so bad I checked out early (first time ever and I've stayed in a Brittania hotel).
Looking at other reviews, sounds like it's a common thing, but the hotel clearly doesn't care as it gets its money either way and it the customers that end up having to fork out for rooms elsewhere.
Room was on a busy street with clubs etc nearby and there is no noise damping through the windows (no curtains even, just a cheap tattered blind - so hey tons of light in the room in summer too) so the room is incredibly noisy, pretty much the whole night. I got next to no sleep the one night I stayed there.
The mattress was terrible; very thin with coils jabbing at you.
Room was tired with faded, tattered and damaged furniture.
Apparently there are some good rooms but since I paid >£150 a night, it's an expensive gamble if you get one of the bad ones.
Oh and no plugs near the bed.

Check in staff friendly. Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Lovely, smart bar and restaurant both empty maybe due a DJ blasting music aimed at a young crowd. Cocktails nice. Breakfast was good value at £10.
3.8
The hotel is a lovely listed stone Victorian building with presence and old world charm, one that needs a big refresh mainly on the interior upper floors (paint and fittings) as its potential for being great once again is very easy to see! It’s in a great location and not to far from Lime Street Station travel hub. I must add that tbed in my room was laterally lumpy which was weird! Other than that I was pleasantly pleased. I may have to visit this place again!
