The Inn is absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. The staff could not have been nicer or more efficient. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return sometime in the future.

Unbelievable great hotel. Wife couldn’t be happier. Make up for those 3 star hotels you ordered in the past. 10 out of 10

Thé staff was so helpful, the food excellent and the atmosphere was intimate. Lots to do and extremely accommodating! Can’t wait to go back!

It was a beautiful property and amazing room. Very close to sunset rock so we were able to walk down and watch the sun set. The pool was a great addition. We really enjoyed our stay!

Lovely place - wonderful staff

An amazing and beautiful resort. My family had a wonderful time playing games on the big lawn, swimming in the family pool, roasting marshmallows in the bonfires, and exploring the orchard.

Beautiful, great service.

Small piece of heaven on earth... We had a perfect stay completed by stunning views, wonderful service, and beautifully manicured grounds. Definitely coming back!

The remodel of the property is done with class. It is a beautiful place with all the ammenities.

The view was from the dining patio was beautiful. The room was clean, quiet, and beautiful. Would stay here again. Would recommend to others.

Check-in was confusing, it took a long time and a separate staff member to figure out where our room was. The carpets were filthy as were the linens on the hide-a-bed. We were made to put clean linens on the bed ourselves. Lightbulbs were burned out in the bathroom. The “free” breakfast was embarrassingly awful. For the price of the room, I wouldn’t do it again. This property is also in no way handi-accessible.

This is our second time staying at the Stone Cliff mansion and our first time the room was absolutely beautiful and newly remodeled however this time we were a little disappointed that our room was somewhat out of date in the bathroom and the TV was not situated comfortably to watch it from bed or the chairs but overall it is gorgeous and we really enjoyed drinks on the back covered porch and walking to the Woods restaurant next-door. We were sadly shocked several of the staff seemed grumpy and unfriendly this stay. However we will definitely stay there again but perhaps be a little more picky about which room we choose. Hopefully someone can speak with the staff about hospitality and customer service for the future.

Historic, Victorian, quiet, spacious, delicious food, and kind staff.

Sitting on top of the bluff on the island is a very unique experience if you don’t mind biking or walking. Having the Woods next door for dinner was great.

I don't think we were given the unit I reserved. We had a handicap unit. Several things were broken, but they did get fixed when pointed out. Just not a very romantic spot, which is what I was looking for. Still, we enjoyed our time on the island.

We absolutley fell in love with this Inn. The staff greeted us at our gorgeous room with a plate of fruit and cheese and crackers. From check in to check out, our experience was top notch and the staff was awesome! We will definitely be back!!!

It was peaceful and the space around the property was nice for the kids to be able to run around and explore. The free breakfast was also very good.

Awesome Staff. Customer service impeccable. Breakfast was awesome I’ve never seen so many people attending the guests needs. Super fast Wi-Fi. Staff is top notch.

Nice suite. The location is too far away from the business area.
If the bike can be rent at the hotel and return to the business area would be more convenient.

Went to Mackinac Island as a last minute idea with sister-in-law. Inn at Stonecliffe was beautiful! Great employees, always willing to help and get us anything we needed. Would definitely stay there again. We rented a suite in the summer house. Great set-up and awesome view.

Property was well maintained and had a very nice setting

This was a cozy property with a great view of the Mackinaw Bridge. 2 miles from port so you either had to use a taxi, rent a bike or walk to go back and forth from the inn to the port.

Amazing place. Beautiful and secluded.

Breakfast good. Slow with service. Luggage never got picked up, even though lady at desk had set a time that would happen. Man handling luggage had a language barrier. My wife with breathing problems had trouble climbing two steep flights of stairs.

This hotel was perfect! Pros: beautiful views from front and back lawn (including mackinac bridge), fireplace in bar area is very cozy, nice patio for late night convo, big room with extremely comfortable bed, warm breakfast options despite COVID (thank you sooo much for making that possible, nothing worse than a cold bagged bfast) and everything was very clean. Only negative was that it is over 1.5 miles from the ferry dock. It is perfectly doable and quick on a bike, but if walking, it is a ways off the beaten path (husband and I enjoyed the time to talk and enjoy the walking). Also loved sunset rock area behind the hotel (hidden gem). We actually left the hotel and stayed at a hotel on the Main Street the following night which we liked, but I would definitely prefer to go back to stonecliffe next trip!

I liked that the property was off the beaten path. It was a very quiet and beautiful property.

WOW - what a perfect place to stay! Off the beaten path but so nice to be up on the island and away from the hub of the crowds down below. We probably wouldn't have even made it up the hill had we not stayed up there, so I feel like we really got to see the entire island.

This place is amazing! Beautiful Mansion. Great views of Lake Huron and the Mackinac Bridge. We stayed in the Summer House which is right next door to the main mansion and the rooms are brand new. Ours felt like an apartment with vaulted ceilings. The restaurant inside the Mansion is fantastic. Great bar inside as well. The Woods Restaurant is right next door. Golf course is beautiful and just a couple hundred feet away. I walked around it in the early morning. Also don't miss the opportunity to view a beautiful sunset on the cliffs below it. You take a path headed straight toward the water and it offers incredible views. We brought our own bikes on the ferry and rode them around the perimeter of the island twice. It is only 8 miles around and you are constantly stopping to take pictures and enjoy the lake. This place is about a 20 minute bike ride to town. Which is great if you want to get away from all the "fudgies". This place feels set apart and it is.

Clearly COVID has taken its toll on this hotel and I think a change of ownership may also be the problem.

Our stay at the inn was great! The grounds are gorgeous with a view of the Mackinac Bridge and there is a path that leads to a pretty grotto and then out to an overlook at Sunset Rock. Breakfast was complimentary, standard scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, pastries, juice, coffee, etc. There is also a restaurant next door, the Woods. I would highly recommend getting a reservation. We didn't and were unable to get in. It is 2 miles to town and the taxis and shuttles are expensive. I would recommend bringing bikes as there are many roads and trails to ride on. If you do have bikes, i would recommend taking your bags down EARLY in the morning to get them on the shuttle to go back to the ferry dock, as it can take up to 3 HOURS to get them back to Mackinaw City. That was the only downfall, we ended up walking the 2 miles with our bikes and luggage to make the earlier ferry. Also, our toilet would not flush but they gave us a plunger and we had no more issues. All in all, a great stay.

Our room was very clean, however the shower rod was broken and nearly falling off the wall. Regardless of that, I would definitely stay here again. My kids loved the pool, which was much larger than expected. For teenagers to like anything, says quite a bit! There were five of us, three over six foot, the room was large enough to not feel crowded, and the deck was the largest we've ever add at a hotel. The only real "negative" review I have would be in finding the place once we got to the island. Our luggage was tagged and taken to the hotel, but no one offered directions or instruction on how to get ourselves to the hotel.

Beautiful hotel very clean comfy and spacious room gorgeous view on the lake and overlooking Mackinac bridge location is beautiful in the woods however too far from the Main Street were all restaurants and shops are therefore need to take taxi or shuttle back and forth and it was quite expensive for the family but the place was worth it
5.0
Nice property. I do think that since its so far from the ferry dock they should provide free shuttle for people, not just the luggage, especially since its an expensive room.

The views were excellent and the staff was very helpful.

Great stay! Only thing I would suggest is that VRBO calls out the room in photos may not be room you will get. Also summer house is not one house, there are 14 or 15 in building. But very nice and clean. Beautiful landscape and view of Mackinac Bridge from mansion. Great restaurant with the Woods (Grand Hotel restaurant) the Stone Cliff Inn. So peaceful yet still closr to main street with short bike ride,
