The property was well worn and dirty.

Would NOT stay there again. Disappearing or absent staff. Got locked out of my room by the secondary hoop door lock thing which closed when I went to get something from my truck. When the staff called the maintenance person, they did not answer phone. Staff called manager, the manager knew EXACTLY which room I was in (indicating a known problem). The staff could not use the tool that the hotel has for such emergencies, plus the door frame was scarred from repeated use of the tool (indicating long existing unaddressed problem). I used my tools to get into the room. I did ask for and receive another room. Hot water was lukewarm. Floors were sticky. Breakfast was all carbs. Not a piece of fruit in sight. Cheap paper plates were available for waffles. Derelict RV was parked in lot. Gypsies in the halls. Many long term residents. The rear exit magnetic door lock was non-functional, so anyone could enter at any time. I could not leave this place fast enough. Either Management does not care of corporate/franchise has not visited in forever.

There are many non-smoking signs around the hotel. They must just have marijuana and cigarette scented air fresheners! And the walls have beautiful designs—brown smudges. I’d think they were dirt (or worse) if I didn’t know any better. The receptionist was very kind when we asked for a refund. Unfortunately she either never informed the manager that we checked out after 10 minutes or the manager, Paul, just didn’t care. We never received a refund and every time we call we get hung up on. They are even hanging up on the hotels.com staff who are trying to rectify the situation. We should have known better when we checked in on a summer Saturday and only 3 cars were in the parking lot. We ended up staying at the Comfort Suites down the street and it was a lot better.

First of all as you enter you know you came to a place which is well a shady place. The smell says it all, it’s weed smell every where.
Reception and getting key was fine but there was no info given about cleaning breakfast wifi etc.
Then room, so we walk into the lift for our floor and lift as smelly and sticky.
Then we went to room and first we found cockroaches so we went down and they changed the room. 2nd room did not have cockroaches but carpet was all sticky and every surface I. The room were sticky and needed wipe off.
Towels are not available and they Didi items could be cleaned more or a newer set can be procured. Bed stuff were just ok.
Atleast 2 tvs were good.
Breakfast and the service is as miserable as it can be.
Hotels.com took money from me like it were a Hilton/ Marriott infact I have paid more here.
Room keys by default gets locked every day so if you come late you are in for a treat as the staff in the late evening simply don’t stay in the office

I should have read the reviews before booking! We walked on to our floor which smelled like roach spray then into our room which also smelled of roach spray. While we were there for two nights, we killed at least 2 more roaches. Hopefully we didn't take any home!

Generally nice, but the hotel was too warm and the guests who smoked weed stunk up the halls and elevator.

The room was good size and comfortable. The front desk was not friendly and it took 15 minutes to check In. Breakfast was very limited with no meat and staff was nowhere to be found. Bathroom was not clean properly,, especially around the tub. I love the room layout, especially that there is a door in the bedroom..like an apartment style layout.

We didn't stay. Would like a refund. It was infested with bugs, and though not experts, we think they were bedbugs. Do yourself a favor, just don't go there. In addition to the bugs, it was dirty and just plain ratty.

Upon check in, there was a party or something going and it was raining. The people attending the event was parked under the unloading area so I had to unload my luggage in the rain. When I got to my room and opened the door, it smelled like someone had just finished smoking a cigarette in the room and I found the cigarette butt in the sink. I immediately went back to the front desk and told the clerk, she apologized and sent me to another room, when I got there, someone else's luggage was in there. I thought I was being punked and so I returned to the front desk and she gave me another room after she went to make sure it was good. The breakfast was not a hot breakfast, they just had a waffle maker and cereal. No one came to refill the juice carafes or the cereal, it was like first come, first served. The room was ok but the tv in the sitting area did not work. I don't think I will be staying at this property EVER again!! Don't waste your money, you will be highly disappointed!!!

The staff were friendly. The room was clean, but the halls and elevator could have used some extra cleaning. The breakfast less than expected they had it set up to make waffles and toast but no other hot food items. The driveway to get in was a struggle to get in and out of due to location and traffic.

Booked for the weekend of June 20th thru the 24. First room dirty with a used bath cloth left in the shower, dead roaches in the fridge and freezer. And baby roaches crawling everywhere. 2nd room toilet leaking bathroom floor flooded and roaches… 3 room looked and smelled better but still had roaches. Front desk was cool and upon check out front desk advised they had roaches and bed bugs and new management was extra cheap. Checked out the very next day.. READ ALL THE REVIEWS.

We stayed 2 nights and did not have time to change hotels as we were there for a wedding. This hotel needs to be closed down and renovated. It is old, could not sit on the furniture as it was so dirty. The pool was closed. The only thing about the breakfast that was good was the coffee. The staff were nice, mostly. The carpet throughout the hotel was old, smelly and dirty. Our window was so dirty you could not see out of it - literally. There are not even vending machines. The walls in the room were horribly dirty. In fact, in our friends room there were dirty handprints on the wall and what looked like blood stains, or something red. There was no toilet paper when we first arrived and only 1 wash cloth for 2 of us. So, Clarion, you need to condemn this property or completely gut it and start over. And, they charged the same amount as nicer hotels in the area.

Clerk was terrible key would not work to enter room, Clerk issued 2 more to keys to two different rooms one with people already in room. No manager present to give or assist in REFUND or Assistance. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE EVER. I left without every getting assigned a room. If Hotels.com could assist in helping get a complete refund that would right this issue.

The room was so dirty
2.0 / 10.0
The room we stayed in (218) had a very bad smell upon arrival. It was also very dirty. The under bedding had stains, the shower had not been scrubbed, there were stains on the carpet and walls. There was no coffee in the room for the machine and none at the front desk, supposedly. Additionally, the front desk staff was extremely rude (both day and night shift). And on top of all of that, there was an intermittent smell of marijuana coming into our room from somewhere, as well as outside around the facility.

This hotel served it's purpose. It was a central location for all of our destinations while in Charleston. Very close to lots of great restaurants, grocery/drug stores, and an outlet mall.

The one person staff is ridiculous. She was very helpful and nice. The breakfast was limited and dry. We killed 3 cockroaches and the room had not been cleaned or stocked at all. Smelled like smoke even though it was non smoking

Great deal on a good place . The room was very big and accommodating however I did see a couple of roaches and the breakfast was very limited but for the money I can’t really complain it was nice

It's an older hotel on a busy road. Soon after we checked in, we found the toilet leaking (clean) water all over the bathroom. When we reported it, we were assigned a different room, but when we went to move our things into it, there were roaches crawling over the table. At that point, we checked back out and went elsewhere so did not stay overnight at all. Also, the whole building is smoke-free per signs but the hallways reeked of marijuana smoke. The desk manager was extremely nice and felt very bad about our experience.

Room was clean and comfy....no bed bugs was a plus, service was excellent. Breakfast choices not good. Pool out of order which was sad because thats why we booked this hotel. Room had roaches...

Bed and rooms very dirty, did not stay and was not able to get a refund. In door pool not working, had to wait 30 minutes to check in was there at 3:00 and they had a shift change and staff was late.

First of all it was a smoke free facility but it smelled heavily of cigarettes and weed. Even the indoor pool smelled like weed and was supper muggy…so we couldn’t even go swimming. The first room we were put in the pull out couch was gross and looked like someone died on the mattress. Found some baby roaches in the bathroom and smelled so bad. The second room we thought was going to be better it was on a different floor. No the bed when you lay in it our feet were in the air and our heads were near the floor. The bed was like sleeping on the floor. It felt like they took a pillow top and turned it over where you were sleeping on springs. There was a cigarette hole in the sheets and the towels had yellow stuff on them. Needless to say we cut our trip short because it was non refundable and went the 6 1/2 hours back home. The only good part of the hotel was the lady that checked us in when we got there she was super nice.

Would never stay here again or refer anyone-the property is unkept, neglected and in need of serious updates. Mold in several areas, dirty towels, toilet was clogged and no staff at night, unclean rooms, odorous hallways, people hanging out outside grilling on a parking spot. Felt very unsafe and dangerous. Little parking and awkward layout. Unsafe pool with weird men only. Left after our first night only because nothing else was available. Will be filing a complaint with corporate.

For the amount I paid for 2 rooms, I thought it was a four star hotel. I killed 3 roaches in room 414. People from the outside are using the pool. I was feeling unsafe. Some people were hanging out around the pool entrance. The pool water was ice cold. Breakfast was limited. I talked to the hotel manager about the roach problem but nothing was done. I am requesting a refund

When we got to the hotel, the computer systems were extremely slow, and took a long time to check in. When we got to the elevator, there was trash in the hall, and elevator floor, and the trash was still there the following morning when we left for the day. Interior of the elevator was dirty and appears it has not been cleaned in quite some time. When we got up to our floor, again trash in the hallway and there was a funky smell throughout.
The room was fairly clean, but appeared that someone had been sitting on the bed. There was a dead roach on the floor in the bathroom, and over our stay, we killed several other roaches. The towels were stained with dark areas, they were clean, but stained. We didn't even try going into the pool. There was no coffee maker in the room, and only a half roll of toilet paper and no Kleenex. We went down to the front desk and the woman at the front desk apologized and was very helpful.
Although the TV's appear to be updated recently, cosmetically, the overall condition of the hotel was dirty and is in need of major updating.

We checked in and checked out within 45 minutes. The place reeked of marijuana and mold through out the entire hall and room. DO NOT choice this hotel. We were refund our money after having to cause a scene with the manager. The staff was completely incompetent, stating it always smells of marijuana due to guest smoking in hallways and rooms. We couldn't have been more disappointed.
4.0 / 10.0
They gave us the key to the room and when we walked in it was occupied by another guest. When we informed the front desk about it they were very casual like it was a recurring problem. When we got to the right room it was not occupied but still pretty dirty.
