We really enjoyed the location of the Inn. Very tranquil. The main floor was very welcoming and cozy. Games were available for quiet playing and there were a variety of drinks available at the bar. Breakfast was very good. Nice choices from the menu. Service took some time. We wanted to leave to go skiing but waited at least 30 min for breakfast to arrive. Room was spacious in Norman Rockwell room. Kids enjoyed sinfle bed nooks. Lots of natural light to wake up to in morning. Saw a few spiders on floor. Probably goes with age of building. Otherwise very clean. Only drawback...we purchased on hotels.com. Said this was final price..nothing owing. Upon departure from inn we were told we owed money for "extra guests" in room even though there were 5 beds in room. My husband had asked upon arrival if we owed anything or if all was taken care of and they said we owed nothing. A bit upsetting.

We decided to take an Autumn trip to Vermont to see the foliage. The West Mountain Inn is a great place to stay because it's off the beaten track but close enough to town to enjoy shopping restaurants etc. Its actually quite self contained with beautiful grounds that include gardens for strolling and their own hiking trails in the ' back forty'. We had a great stay in the Govenor Chittenden room with great views and a nice sitting area. Breakfast which is included is off of a small complete menu that includes pancakes, oatmeal and various egg dishes. We had dinner one night and it was wonderful too. I had the venison special and my husband had salmon. There is a nice little full bar and private sitting areas on the main floor. The only place with a TV was in a secluded area off the bar, where someone was catching up on football. People were reading or visiting and playing board games. The staff is friendly but not obtrusive and very attentive. A nice detail was the coffee, tea station with fresh cookies available anytime. The room was clean, cozy and comfy.

Beautiful old B and B with amazing fall foliage surrounding it. We stayed in the main building and it was great but we were on the 3rd floor so you needed to be able to climb narrow stairs. Wonderful breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

It was in beautiful countryside and simply a wonderful place to just let go and relax!

It was amazing... we hiked on the property and tubed down a nearby river. The breakfast was so good. We would love to make it an annual event!

The hotel was like what we expected. We are Gilmore Girls fans and wanted to stay in a hotel that has the style of the "Dragon Fly Inn Hotel" of the series :-) And I found it! A romantic hotel in the middle of the green mountains of Vermont. After breakfast we went outside walking through the wonderful garden. We stayed in the Norman Rockwell Room, perfect for a family with lots of space. We just stayed for one night but we can recommend a longer stay, summer or winter. Both will work. If we come back to Vermont I would definitely choose West Mountain Inn again. The breakfast was served at the table. Just lovely and a very individual service.

The best place we've stayed on our trip. Beautiful BnB and grounds, wonderful food, warm and friendly staff. A true gem, we will certainlybbe back.

What a well maintained and quaint inn. Food was fabulous and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful.

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location. Much better than I expected.

West Mountain Inn is a lovely country inn. Each room is different, ours was #1 which was bright and airy with a large bath and a pillow top king size bed. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed feeding apples to the alpacas. The farm to table restaurant was excellent. One of the many selections for breakfast was fresh raspberry pancakes. Dinner was delicious with a choice of 8 entrees. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. We definitely plan to return and wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful.

The Inn was very homey and charming, as was our room. The staff was very warm and friendly and so helpful in suggestions of things to do. We had a wonderful weekend, celebrating our 50th Anniversary in beautiful Vermont! I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone who is looking for a true Vermont experience in a beautifully decorated Inn. Even with all of the ice and snow that plagued the roads and walkways, it seemed almost like a fairy tale adventure. We will definitely go back again to enjoy the beauty and hospitality of this wonderful little Inn!

Good location for a tour of New England that takes in Vermont. The inn's location means you're rather captive unless you drive to the next town. Dinner is offered, but you must take the 3 course option in full (its sold as 5 course, but thats a bit misleading).Service was slow when the inn was busy, but staff were trying their best. There are grounds you can walk in and some other routes signed from the inn. The room was fine, with balcony with a view of the grounds and mountains. Public lounge area was spacious and had plenty of books.

The property was so beautiful. Loved hiking on the trails on the property.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds and the food was good

Breakfast was incredible, but also stay for their five course dinner. It was gourmet!
4.2
It was comfortable, but just barely. Amenitites that were extended in other B&B's and inns such as extra blankets, coffee/tea/water in room, toiletries, clock, radio or TV in room were not present. The WiFi was spotty or non existant during the stay. There was no one at the front desk to help us out. The person that greeted us upon our arrival certainly didn't appear to care or have a vested interest in us as guests. The wait staff for the morning breakfast were good as were the selections offered. It certainly is in a lovely location in a beautiful area. With just a little effort could be a lovely place to stay.

We stayed at the cottage and enjoyed the amenities included. Breakfasts were excellent. Staff was very helpful.
4.2
The food and service was excellent!
The Expedia website does not tell you that "May Ann's" and "Will's" rooms are in a cottage and not in or very close to the Inn. The cottage is a bit shabby on the outside as is the Inn at the outside entry.
4.2
A relaxing and refreshing place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff and fantastic food. I hope to return soon.

We were very impressed with the beautiful old inn (over 100 yrs. old) ane the innkeepers (Amy and all). The food (fine dining) was very good and the accommodations and grounds were exceptional. Staff was outstanding in every way. Amy even gave us a choice of rooms after we arrived, and lady at front desk gave us basket of carrots &apples to feed alpacas, which ate right out of our hands! We had a little deck w/ rockers and twin beds in room w/ private bath. Beautifully decorated, not overdone. Impressed by journals in each room wherein many guests who had stayed in each wrote a bit of their experiences at the inn. So enjoyable to read! We stayed 2 nites & were considering a 3rd, but had made other arrangements. Loved it!

Your price includes an excellent breakfast and an even better 5-course dinner. The rooms vary from lovely to adequate -- for some reason we were assigned one that was small and unattractive, in spite of the fact that the inn had many unoccupied nicer rooms. The innkeeper and other staff were very nice and helpful, far beyond the call of duty, and refused any tips. Hiking trails begin on the grounds and, although poorly marked, provide enjoyable excursions among the beautiful forests and hills that surround the property. We'd definitely go back.
