I’ll give an example as how our experience started and it didn’t get much better after this. First morning we went for breakfast, but the dining room was closed. We asked a member of staff who we told us the chef hadn’t turned up. No, apology just a shrug of the shoulders. As we went to the lift to go back to our room to think of plan b a couple emerged from the lift. “Oh, he hasn’t turned up again then” was their quote. I asked what did they mean, to which they said they’d been there for 6 days and this was the 3rd day that he hadn’t turned up.
The location of the accommodation was very good. For a skiing hotel room, it was comfortable. The following issues we had but I don’t want to spend the rest of my evening typing include:
2 false fire alarms
being accused of tripping the electrics with a hair dryer or straighteners. this turned out to be the faulty kettle in our room
being told we can’t have a new kettle as there’s a problem with the electrics in our room
we asked to move room, but got a shoulder shrug and a “no”
ordered food at the hotel for our kids. was told 40 mins. 110 mins later, still waiting. dared to question why so long, “understaffed” was the one word answer
I would like to point out, that whilst my overall experience of the hotel was very poor, the young lady at the front desk did try her very best for us. her english wasn’t great, but about a thousand times better than my french so I don’t see this as a particular problem.

Got a good deal, and as such, it was value for money.
The staff for incredibly helpful, kind and service-minded, which as a saving grace. The hotel is bit worn down, the spa is small and unimpressive, but everthing appeared clean.

Property itself is in fairly good condition and good location for ski slopes. But it could have been so much better. No visible manager, not enough staff and morale seems low. Breakfast was delayed from 7am to 8.45am on 2 of our 4 mornings as “no staff”. Resulting in delay for ski lessons. No one on front desk for check in until after 4pm and no one available for check out. We asked another member of staff re checkout and were told it was not her job. Bed linen not changed in 4 days and clean towels only once. Shower holder broken in room. No evening meals (though we were told this in advance). Bar was soulless. A missed opportunity as it could be a decent hotel if run properly.

Relatively clean and tidy, on a positive you can ski in out from back of hotel, but very poor service and short staffed. Breakfast buffet food kept running out and wasn’t replenished quickly. Bar was randomly shut some nights. Restaurant wasn’t fully operating - only takeaway pizza / burger. Jacuzzi was cold, the pool colder, sauna and steam room were not as hot as you would expect or want.
Good base if you are happy with a basic hotel and don’t expect much service.

Honestly we were a bit concerned reading some of the reviews before our trip but our stay was fine!
Reception staff friendly, check in and out process easy.
The room was clean and tidied daily, breakfast was good.
Nice balcony views.
Sauna not working during our stay but other spa facilities were fine.
No boot dryers in the ski lockers which would be a good thing to improve on.

It's really ok and very nicely located so you can ski in and out, but there are loads of things that could be improved to really make this a fantastic place. The bathroom with a wobbly faucet and incorrectly placed shower screen, no housekeeping during the stay, a lack of large towels, unclarity about returning with skis and boots from the slopes, the uninviting bar, etc. We had a comfortable stay, just not fantastic, and for the price charged we expected a bit better.

Enjoyable convenient stay (1 week Jan 2024) at the residential section (Sun Valley) of Hotel Vancouver in La Plagne Soleil. Large comfortable functional room, balcony with fabulous view. Decent powerful shower over the bath, endless hot water. Excellent breakfast (cereal, fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, croissant, bread, cake, scrambled eggs, bacon, salmon, coffee etc). Bring own tea bags if you prefer a brew of traditional english breakfast tea. Swimming Pool with steam room, sauna & hot tub - ideal for stretching out aches & pains after a long day on the slopes. Pool temperature was fine. Ski / Boot room on lower ground floor with large lockers for each specific hotel room (fully lockable & secure). No immediate access to slopes from boot room, only a minute walk to blue run behind hotel (via tunnel walkway next to Intersport), takes you down to Bergerie lift. Handy Spar shop across road from Hotel (near ESF meeting point & bars). Highly recommend Le Monica's (restaurant & pizzeria) with great outside decked Apres ski area overlooking slopes; also has cool pub on lower ground floor with ski/snowboarders vibe. If you're looking for full on ski after party experience, ski to La Bergerie https://www.chaletdaltitudelabergerie.fr/

The hotel would have got 5stars if the swimming pool was warmer and the sauna and steam rooms were working.

The best thing is the staff. Very kind, caring good people.

Ski-in ski-out access and near to some great restaurants and shops (a short ski down from La Bergerie which is handy). Spa and swimming pool were nice but quite busy in the evenings with children. Rooms were very hot until we turned off the radiators. Overall a good hotel that was perfect for our trip.

The hotel was clean and pleasant to stay in. The spa was nice and welcome at the end of a day skiing. The breakfast could have been improved and would have appreciated hand soap in the bathroom.

We had a great 4 night stay here in mid Feb 2019. The room was spacious and clean with a bath and shower over it, but no coffee making facilities. There was a small balcony and great views over the mountains and other parts of La Plagne. The kids had bunk beds which they liked but the mattresses on them could have been better padded.
The swimming pool is small and was clean but heavily chlorinated, the spa area also has a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room which are great for easing some aches after a day on the slopes. A minor ski run does drop right past the back of the hotel that is primarily accessible via a short button lift from the Escartee run. The run behind the hotel goes to the La Bergerie lift which is good for connecting to other routes.
There is locking ski storage allocated to each room (big enough for the families skis, boards, boots and helmets) but there are no boot warmers and a limited space for getting boots on and off.
The bar area was large, clean and from 4-5 during the week they sold fresh crepes which our kids really enjoyed. The breakfast was a buffet with a reasonable selection (cereal, breads, pastries, juices, coffee, small hot selection), but there were no changes day to day. We didn't use the restaurant in the evening - we were told that we need to book the day before but there were other restaurants within about 300m - we tried two of those and they were both good and reasonably priced (for a ski resort).

We were on our first skii trip which was made great by the excellent service received from the Vancouver staff. The food was good, location great, view brilliant. Perfect skii in skii out resort with good facilities onsite and nearby. Good choice in food for vegetarians too if you have any with you. Location is perfect with skii resort shuttle literally dropping you at the doorstep. I would happily return here for my next skii trip.

Myself and 5 friends all had a great 4 days at this hotel. Lovely food and plenty of it. Rooms were lovely and clean and mine had a lovely view. Staff were very helpful and laid back and nothing was too much trouble.....we were usually last down for breakfast and could quite easily have outstayed our welcome but this wasn't a problem! Right on the piste, the boot room is a short stroll through the basement where you can access the piste and ski down to the lift Le Bergerie. I would definitely return to this hotel on another visit to La Plagne.

This may not be the greatest hotel in terms of service, up-market room features, or food, but what it does have is POSITION. Great views from hotel room balconies. Good warm ski lockers/ convenience to rooms of these lockers, and in particular access to slopes. Large, well lit underground garage (pay extra ) . Genuine ski-out/ski in, which, for a ski-holiday, makes up for all else. We were here last year, and the spa/pool is better. Not a very exciting bar, but adequate. Food is French regional, which, from our perspective, was better than any poor attempt at international fare. . We will be going back next year, which really says it all!

Breakfast basic. Lot of noise intruding to the room on the first floor from the dining area being prepared. Heating controls not working in the room.
3.0 / 5.0
Good location and some friendly staff but others could do with a bit of a brush up on social skills!
Not able to get the keys till 5pm on the check in day is a bit restrictive and not opening the dining room so that you cn get a cup of tea/coffee after coming back in from the slopes is a downfall too.
