Not much space in the room or bathroom. Window was difficult to move. Worst part was bathroom. Mildew stains on ceiling and felt dirty. It really needs major updating. Glad we only had a 2 night stay. Would definitely not return.

Roy, I presume the owner, is so rude it’s almost comical. I booked a suite for my son and I, and requested single beds placed as far apart as possible. On arrival, they were 4 inches apart, so we moved one of them to the other side of the room. It was on wheels so took a few seconds. The exposed carpet was filthy so we left the bed where it was in the morning to allow them to give it a rare vacuuming. Roy actually phoned me after we’d left to remonstrate..he was almost apoplectic that we had dared to move a bed!
I’d like to know what award the ‘award winning breakfast’ has won? Maybe the most anaemic and unappealing sausage? Or perhaps an award for cramming the most tables in to a tiny basement breakfast room? To be fair I’ve had worst breakfasts but also many far better
The hotel is tired and dated but the owner is incredible..I’m still feeling a bit stunned by his tirade

I think they have made a great job of providing comfortable conditions for the clients of Mowbury court hotel.....Really good breakfast with a variety of cereal ..pastries ..cooked breakfast and extras...warm friendly staff making sure your stay is home to home

It’s very old fashion hotel, which I have prepared for that. The condition of the property is worst than I expect. The size of room is just like London. You probably could find something better if you book advance somewhere else in Eastbourne.

THIS PROPERTY IS TOTALLY UNSUITABLE FOR ELDERLY FOLK AND THOSE WITH MOBILITY PROBLEMS, TOO MANY STAIRS !
5.0
Great b&b option in Eastbourne. Roy was absolutely fantastic with the communication and the room was perfect for a weekend stay.
Close to the seafront and very quiet.

The room was nice, the staff couldn’t be more helpful and we had a really nice couple of days

The location was great but that is the only good thing about The Mowbray.
As soon as we entered the lobby there was a damp smell.
No one to greet you or help with your bags etc.
The bed was horrible, it was uncomfortable and the two mattresses that made up a double, constantly came apart with a sheet that didn’t fit properly. The duvet came out of the cover too.
The room and bedding smelt of damp and the shower was dirty and mouldy.
Glad we only stopped for the one night.
We didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment on that.
If you find it difficult mobility wise, there are big steps up to the property and although there is a lift to the rooms, I’m not sure it went down to where the breakfast was being served and there were lots of steps down to it.
I would not recommend The Mowbray and for the money I would have expected a lot more.

Very easy to access. And privacy
6.0
Ideally located for eating out and sea front strolls.
Basic hotel , easy parking, good breakfast however the housekeeping in the rooms could be improved especially in the bathrooms, toilet brush disgraceful !! . Blinds also thick in dust and tv unwatchable as signal kept going.

A lovely two night stay. In a great location, close to restaurants, pier and beach. Parking is great too. Breakfast is lovely as are the staff. Arrival instructions are very
clear. Room was compact, although fine for us.

A fab property in a fantastic location, beach front 2 mins walk, town centre 5 mins walk,
Thank you for a lovely weekend 🤗

Everything was self check in. You could make use of a bar in the lounge, but it was empty. Not even a bottle of water. The bed was too small in a tiny room. I almost didn’t fit on the toilet. I would never go there again.

It was my 2nd stay in Mowbray. Very friendly and lovely hotel. I think I booked last available room, small single bed one. Even though it was very small, it was furnished in a way it was very convenient and comfortable for my short stay. Large windows give a spacey feeling. Small en-suite bathroom could use a little bit of renovation but everything was in working order so no issues there. Staff was super nice and accommodating.
Great location, 3 minutes from the sea, 10 minutes walk from the train station

We stayed for 2 nights as a group of 12. Hotel was 'fine'. Nothing spectacular, fulfilled its needs as a bed to stay at night. Hotel is un-staffed in terms of reception, parking isn't free as stated (£2.50 per day, permits purchased in advance), living room area was nice, however, the honesty bar was empty for the whole stay and genuinely the information within the hotel is outdated (Referring to places to visit which closed in 2015). Email communication was none-existent and went unanswered. Breakfast was fine.

Lovely stay, very well presented room.
Overall very highly recommend.

Very basic small room. Tiny bathroom. Clean & comfortable bed.

Check in was easy but strange not to see anyone.
Extremely disappointed when we opened the room door especially for the price we paid. The room was very small and claustrophobic. It was a hot day and the room was stifling hot. Could only open one of the sash windows about 4 inches so we couldn’t get any through air.
To be honest there was so many things wrong with the room that I rang the manager and we negotiated a price to upgrade the room. But

Staff were fantastic and made us very welcome. Fabulous breakfast, would stay again. Beds were comfortable

Really lovely staff and friendly place to stay.
Bed was huge and bedroom was comfortable. Good value. Breakfast was included and was very good portion - only had the full English so cannot comment on the other options though.
As a negative I thought the shower was very weak and the bathroom a bit cramped, but as an option for a short stay I would visit again.

Very comfortable with a superb breakfast. The only downside was a broken bathroom door which would not lock or properly secure.

No further comment: it was all perfect from the welcome to the comfy bed and the lovely breakfast. I would recommend it to anyone.

Good central location. Great service. Room fine, good breakfast. Free overnight parking outside. Good value. What's not to like?

Location is great, just 10mins from the centre of Eastbourne. Parking is easy to find and £1 with a permit for 24hrs. The room was cosy. Breakfast was excellent, definitely worth pay for a room rate that includes breakfast!

Very small bathrooms, even one can't bend to wash face. Dirty carpets and dusty windows. Noisy neighborhood.

We loved the size of the room and the super comfy bed. The breakfast was scrumptious with so much choice. Location of the hotel was spot on so close to theatres and restaurants, also short walk to the promenade.
3.0
Nice property, if not a little dated but that is to be expected for the area. Good location. Most staff were friendly, although the owner was a little curt and abrupt (seemed stressed but not very approachable)
Unfortunately the towels and sheets were not the cleanest. bed sheets looked a little grubby but the hand towel and bath mat had stains.
Overall pretty good but could do with a bit of updating and clean towels and sheets is a must

Superb breakfast that rivals any 5 star hotel

Lovely family run hotel. Perfect location for town, train station and the beach. Warm & friendly welcome. Would stay again and would recommend for a short stay
5.0
Very close to the sea front and also to the theatre. Amazing facilities - we loved both the honesty bar/freezer and also the breakfast where the choice was exceptional for a small hotel.
4.0
Comfortable guesthouse, friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice both hot and cold.

Lovely guest house in a great position. Windows a bit rackety when it’s windy but it is an old building. Bed very comfortable

A lovely hotel with lots of character. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. Our second trip to the hotel and not our last.
