It was amazing. Quiet and everyone was friendly.

Was an amazing experience. This hotel is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean and quiet.

Great location and lots of eating out options

It was wonderful!! Everything was clean, staff was so nice and the beds were so cozy!!
4.5
Was rundown, dark, depressing and dismal. The area is less than desirable.
Unprofessional employees.
Terrible restaurant service.
Hard to believe the Marriott was less and i choose this disaster of a hotel.

Great property. Fantastic customer service! Hidden gem in The Lou! Can’t wait to stay there again! Grab a UFO Burger, they’re fantastic!

Both the beds in our room were broke. One had a broken box on the bottom so if you sit on there you would almost fall thru the floor. The other one had a broken box on the head and you would lay with your upper body lower then the rest.

This is our go-to when we have a show at The Pageant since it's literally next door. It's always clean, comfortable, and not stupidly expensive. Popped down to the Eclipse Restaurant in the hotel before the concert last night and had a tasty cocktail and out-of-this-world smoked gouda mac & cheese with grilled chicken - and I don't really care for chicken! Just book it, it's a great place.

Staff, room and location is amazing!

We were in town to see a show at the Pageant Theater next door. The hotel was very convenient to the venue and had free parking in a lot behind the hotel. There were several places to eat that were in walking distance. We wound definitely stay here again!
4.5
You cannot beat how close this is to the Pageant. If you are going to a concert, this is the spot! Easy and free parking, with the option to pay to Valet. Restaurant is pretty good and decently priced, and the motel itself is really unique and cool! Space themed memorabilia and decor, in and outside the rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful for the most part.

I loved this place! Cute, quirky little hotel with friendly staff. It’s was super clean, and is in a great location. We were there for a concert at The Pageant, which it is right next door so it was perfect.
4.5
The place was great, some minor housekeeping issues, the fridge was not cleaned out after the previous guest, and the bathroom could have used a bit more attention. Overall, great stay and would repeat.
4.5
Loved the decor and the theme. Room could have been cleaner -- there was glitter all over the couch in our room and leftover hairs from previous occupants. One of the front desk people was extremely helpful and friendly -- the other very unhelpful when my husband asked when the breakfast opened and what was available. When I went to check out they pointed to the key drop. When I asked if I could see a copy of my bill, they asked if I wanted them to print a copy. Duh? It was very convenient for us and we would stay again. But they could certainly kick it up a notch.
4.5
Great location for walking to restaurants and stores, and only a short drive to see The Arch and other things downtown. Loved the rooftop bar. Staff was awesome, especially Charles - thank you Charles! Great hotel - would definitely stay here again!

Great hotel! Great location! Comfortable bed!

We had such a great stay at The Moonrise. We had never traveled with our small dog and they were very accommodating and friendly with her.We loved the theme at the hotel and the rooftop bar was a great spot to unwind. There are so many places within walking distance for food and shopping , it made it easy to decide on dinner. Thx so much!

This was our second stay in the Moonrise - about 10 years after our first. The hotel has been extremely well kept and is in great shape. I didn't notice any wear and tear on their lobby or in the rooms. We enjoyed a drink on the rooftop and had great service there. The only drawback was the Eclipse restaurant on site. We had planned to eat breakfast there but it was apparent that they were very short-staffed for the holiday weekend (we heard the single hostess/waitress apologizing to the sole table seated for the long wait) so we opted to go to an "express" diner across the street.
4.5
The staff was super friendly and professional and extra helpful. Both gentlemen at the front desk were able to help me even though I arrived early. Will definitely stay here again.

Really great staff, great property, interesting location.
Parking was kinda stressful challenge — the hotel website said no valet parking was available, but try the public lot behind the hotel… yet the public lot signage said it was strictly for those using public transportation.
More info upfront on their site would have relieved my anxiety about parking in the public lot—the hotel has an agreement with them, which wasn’t clear. I opted for $20 for valet parking turned out to be available, impressed by the attendants…
Long way of saying I liked everything about the hotel except the website being less clear, not quite up to date, worth improving to be a more helpful resource since the stay otherwise was great.

Fire alarm went off for 2 hours for a burst pipe

We were very happy with our stay here. When we arrived the toilet seat was lose so the next morning I notified the front desk. By the time we returned from running around it had been fixed. The decor was whimsical and the rooftop bar was nice to visit in the evening. IMHO this was a great find and if even in St Louis again this would be my first choice.

The property didn't look anything like the photos. I trusted Expedia ratings after many years of using the service and believed the 9/10 rating would be unbeatable. I was utterly disgusted and disappointed upon arrival and was forced to move hotels at 3am. The reception was apologetic and kindly called me about 30 minutes after checking out to apologize for our experience (and rapid departure in the middle of the night) and assured me (unprompted and unasked) that I would receive a complete and total refund of the 3-night stay if I would just call Expedia, as "Expedia had my money." Of course I then contacted Expedia for a refund, and was issued a vague excuse that my stay would not be refunded despite the abysmal state of the property. I am absolutely disgusted with both Expedia and this hotel for wasting both my time and hard earned money. I don't know how they trumped up their reviews to earn a 9 of all things, but I am dissolutioned and dismayed. My funds are not unlimited and I've always been able to count on Expedia reviews before. I guess it's time to try another app.

Extremely poor experience. After traveling for 7 hrs we were looking forward to rest in our room. Unfortunately, we had to change rooms 3 times due to extremely unhygienic bedding filled with blood stains and body fluids on all rooms. Pillows were yellow without protective covers, sheets were not clean, bathrooms were not clean. I asked for fresh linens but there was no one to help from the cleaning crew at that time of the night. No top sheets on 2 of the rooms. Staff at the front desk was apologetic and mentioned it was not the first time they had complaints. The front desk lady was very nice and gave me “new” pillows from the back and put covers on them at the desk after the third time. I was told I would hear from the manager but have not heard yet.

The hotel feels old and worn. It is not a new property or really a 'nice' property. The area around the hotel also feels old and worn, unsafe at times, and boring.
The first room I stayed in had dirty sheets and pillows--almost like they hadn't been changed. So I asked to be moved.
The next room was better--but I just didn't feel great at that hotel.
The gym was old, the machines broken--the restaurant felt outdated.
Overall, the place felt old and dirty. There were funky smells--I felt like I was overpaying for what I was getting.
I would not recommend this property.

The AC wasn't working properly, so I couldn't adjust temperature. And it got too cold, so I just turned it off. Also, housekeeping might need to be more thorough. I found leftover water in the coffe machine and some pizzas in thr fridge.

This place is great. Very clean and a million shops and dining options to walk to. Easy free parking.

What a wonderful place to stay. The rooms were immaculately clean with such soft sheets. The bed was comfy also.Every staff member there was friendly and went out of their way to help with anything you needed.I can’t say enough good things about the Moonrise Hotel. If you have a chance to stay there please do it.You won’t be disappointed.

We loved the location and atmosphere of the hotel

Comfortable rooms. Great staff. If you don’t want to hear the rooftop DJ when you’re sleeping, ask for a lower floor. I’ve stayed here a number of times over the years. Our room had some minor cosmetic wear and tear. The food on the rooftop wasn't too special, but we had a convenient meal before our concert at Delmar Hall. I was lucky to get a deal, but usually this place is pretty expensive. I’d stay again if I could always get a good rate.
4.5
Great location being directly on Delmar. All around great experience at this hotel. Would definitely recommend to others.

MI absolutely love staying at the Moonrise Hotel in St. Louis. Its quirky charm and classy vibe make each visit a unique experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the rooms are super comfortable, with more amenities than you'd usually find in this price range. The lively location adds to the overall appeal, making it my top choice whenever I'm in St. Louis. I always look forward to my stays here!

Very unique property and hotel. Great area and vibe!

We were woken up twice at 10:40 pm and then midnight by false fire alarms. We were notable to rest. Heard someone was smoking. Should have been dealt with the first time.
4.5
Great and unique place. The staff was very nice and helpful. $20 per night valet fee. Reasonable IMO. Moon decor was cool and rooftop bar was great too. The room and hotel in general was a bit humid and toilet seat needed to be replaced but otherwise great.
4.5
Beautiful property, great staff very personable but it suffers from poor housekeeping. Lack of attention to detail by housekeepers. Front of toilet looks clean but there was pink mold and dirt at back of toilet. Modern esthetic diminished by uncleanliness and lack of attention to details. Waste can was corroded inside as bag slipped and inside of can was exposed. Room remained freezing even though AC was turned off. Aside from that housekeeping did not clean our room after first night so we had to come back to a dirty room from which we were checking out of the next morning. Super attractive place but that does not supersede cleanliness.
4.5
Conveniently located close to Washu. Parking is behind hotel and looked sketchy. Room was not clean. Bed sheets had not been changed and mini fridge was very dirty. Room had a very strong urine smell. We got in very late and there were few options to remedy room cleanliness. But staff was very nice and welcoming.
4.5
Everything was great except the beds were softer than we like.

I love the decor and the vibe, I'll try ya again next time. Thanks for the stay!
