A perfect place from which to explore NoVa and DC. Walking distance to Metro and Amtrak, free trolley for jaunts to the waterfront.
The hotel staff is friendly and responsive. Clean, well appointed rooms. Nice on-site gym.
I shall surely stay at the Archer again.

The customer service was excellent. We had a fun girls weekend. The location of the hotel was perfect for walking old town Alexandria and I would highly recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Our stay here was a great experience. The staff are calm, polite, and helpful. Truly a unique experience anymore. There is plenty of shopping and dining within walking distance. They do use down bedding, which they gladly switched out for me, since I have allergies. (There is even a hypoallergenic floor, but it was fully booked.) We tried one of the onsite restaurants, the Tasting Room, and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We will be returning here in the future.

Great little hotel on King street walkable to many shops and restaurants in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Very clean with a friendly staff.

The entrance courtyard is so welcoming. The room was big and super comfortable. Although on a busy street, it was quiet. Restaurants and interesting shops are plentiful. We loved it and will go back.

Nice location and various nearby choices to eat/drink. The hotel had a very foul odor, no room service, electricity went out during my stay, the room temperature was very high (80's) in the middle of August and I couldn't adjust the thermostat. I would give it a higher rating for being a cute boutique style stay, but I was extremely disappointed.

Our stay was short, but we were excited for a little getaway. I used reward points for our stay and paid around $150 out of pocket. Overall the property felt run down, little details in regards to cleaning felt somewhat missed. The caramels left in our room unfortunately had ants in them so we tossed them. We also woke up to a lot of ants in our bed as well. I unfortunately do regret using the points I had saved for what I thought would be a splurge night for us.

Excellent. Clean, friendly. Great location

Clean comfortable hotel with attached bar/restaurant that had amazing food and fantastic staff. The view to the courtyard from the room was out of the movies.

Always a good stay in Alexandria

It was fine but better when it was the Lorien. Our air conditioning didn’t work right so 2 nights we didn’t sleep well because it was too warm.

Room was perfect. Wish it wasn’t just a 1 day pit stop on the way home from SC. We will be back.

As always, our stay was great. We had the King Bed room with balcony. The only small issue we had was that there were ants in and around the complimentary candy left on the desk. Housekeeping immediately came to the room and resolved the issue.

Everything was great except the A/C inside the room is quite noisy going when going on & off that I have trouble when sleeping.

We found ourselves staying at what was the Lorien Hotel and SPA two weeks after the acquisition by the Archer Group. The staff were still working out the bugs in their new systems.
The big complaint was with the HVAC Systems in what seemed to be many of the rooms. Noisy with water dripping from the condensation lines and loud noises when the system kicked off and on. All of which made sleeping through the night impossible. Not what one would expect from a higher end hotel. The staff were most apologetic and accommodating, but they were clearly unable to rectify the problems.

Lovely hotel and very convenient location. One thing - be sure to bring change for tipping. They don’t have any cash at the front desk(!).

Great hotel in historic center of Alexandria. Love the Nespresso machines in each room. Very convenient
Dining options are top notch.

We enjoyed our stay from the beginning to the end. The room was clean and the staff was outstanding. If we are back in town we will be back!!

Stayed in the Lorien Hotel & Spa Suite with Balcony; it smelled horrible. They tried to turn the AC down to 69 to maybe mask the smell of the room, which also had no circulation at all. The pictures do not portray the way the area looked, which was misconceived and very small. The bathroom is too open and anyone could really hurt themselves on the border on the floor between the shower area and bathroom floor, I tripped and almost broke my nose, considering it’s the exact same color as the floor and shower floor, you do not see it at all.
Upon checking in, there was an added charge onto the bill for WiFi, bikes, coffee service, and use of facility amenities which were not disclosed or known during booking, which is a very high inconvenience. If we had known the amount would have ended up that high, we wouldn’t have stayed there and would have stayed elsewhere.
The main floor also smelled, along with the elevator, and when we left it felt like we just escaped from mold poisoning.
I am aware this hotel is older and established but the upkeep has not done a great job at keeping their place of business fresh and clean.
Would not stay here again, regret even staying here at all.

Situated back off one of the cutest streets! Many shops and restaurants. King Street has a free trolley and the metro is a couple of small blocks away.
Based off the fact that the building may be older, the room we got was an odd layout. The bathroom seemed to be bigger than the rest of the livable area of the space. It looks like they recently remodeled it, so it looked really nice. The only sink is inside the massive bathroom and the only mirror in the space with plugs next to it, was in the bathroom. So if you have other people sharing the space, you have to wait til they’re done on the toilet or shower if you want to do your hair/makeup. The sofabed mattress was not very good, my kids complained that the mattress was too springy and it would sometimes foldover itself when you wanted to fold the bed away. There were no dressers in our room, just a closet.
But they make up for these smaller inconveniences with a nice (but small) gym and a free wine hour in the library. Their restaurant has great food too. Also very well air conditioned!!

The bathtub is the star of the room. Very amazing but this hotel needs to be updated. The prices are pretty insane for how little they offer and how dated the hotel is. The WiFi is extremely slow. The blackout curtains don’t close all the way. I had to use the ironing board to keep one side shut. They transport the trash in the main elevators so the elevators stink daily. The housekeeper was the nicest person there and she barely spoke English but she was so nice and kind whenever we asked her to come back. I’d come again for the tub but never for the price we paid. They also hold way too much money … like an extra 2-300. If they updated their rooms then I would understand the pricing but it’s just a little ridiculous.

The hotel is good, but in the end, the hotel charged me with Honor bar food, honor bar water and amenity fee, but I did not consume anything and I did not use any amenity other than the room to sleep.
I have called to have the charges credited and they ignore me, I have sent emails and they do not respond either, I do not like to give bad reviews but I think I have done my best to resolve this and the hotel has not cooperated.

I arrived expecting a high end stuffy kind of atmosphere but instead found a it to be a low key,
homey kind of place. All the staff were friendly and helpful from the valet to reception desk staff.
I was a bit disappointed at the size of our room.
It felt kind of cramped and needs more electrical outlets. I would definitely ask for a suite and/or a room with a balcony next time.
I LOVED the courtyard, the wine tasting and complimentary coffee/tea in the morning.
Nice to have 2 available restaurants on site but other restaurants are close by and walkable too.
Sunday brunch in Barbo restaurant was great.
Didn’t get to use spa but plan to next visit.
