A magnificent view of bay from balcony. We sat out there every morning for coffee and breakfast then evenings for sunset. Resort had a pool and hot tub, was close to beaches, restaurants and activities.

The Boca Ciega Resort itself was very nice, but these are condominiums rented out by real estate companies. We arrived to find no front desk no check-in at the resort at all. We had to drive an additional 4 miles to the real estate office to get checked-in as well as checked out. Over all it was a good experience.

Ad on Expedia indicated free internet access. Despite that statement, no internet access was available at all at this location! We had to drive to the nearest McDonald's a few times a day to stay in touch with work and family and to research and book holiday activities.
Ad also indicated a king-size bed, which was also not available, simply a queen-size bed. These two elements significantly impacted the quality of our stay in the area.
Reservation information did not mention the fact that it was necessary to an alternate location 10-15 minutes away to obtain keys for the condo. unit. 80-90 minutes were wasted obtaining the pertinent information, which was not posted anywhere in the building, and driving over to obtain the keys.
It should also be noted that the condo was very dated and in need of a serious make-over.

The condo was very comfortable. I marked off on cleanliness due to the carpet needing to be cleaned. I made my reservations through Hotels.com and expected to have WiFi so was disappointed in that. I had my phone but it cost me data. Enjoyed the view of the bay, boaters & fishermen and the traffic on the bridge and could watch all from the couch - who needs TV. No noise from other units nor from the bridge traffic.

Friendly staff, nice accommodation on the water and close to many actives, shopping and restaurants. All condos have large balconies that overlook the water making for gorgeous sunset views. Not on the beach but that is not what we were looking for. Price for what you get is an excellent buy. I will go back.

We could not check in at hotel. Received email saying where we could pick up the key but If you needed a late check in to contact hotel but there was no contact information and by looking up the resort number it gives you someone's personal number. Paid for a night that we couldn't even use since we were not able to get in before 5. The next day we went to where the email told us to go and they sent us to someplace completely different. If we would have known the correct place to check in we wouldn't have wasted a night on a different hotel (after driving for 2 hours to find a vacancy) I would have liked more info when booking the hotel.

No one on site to check in. Needed to call an 800 number to be told to go to a Realtor's office to get the key. Wasn't told we needed to go to a different Realtor office to return the key. Unit 112 was dirty, dingy, poorly maintained. Only thing nice about it was the view.

Condo is very small and if you need anything after office hours you cannot reach anyone. They give you a number to call and no one answers. Our room was not cleaned when we got there. Not a pleasant sight when you get to see the room your about to stay in dirty from the guests before.

This condo is more of a senior complex. Very noisy with the road being so near and morning traffic going over bridge. Asked for a fourth floor condo and got first floor. It was guaranteed at reservation time.

The building is right on one of the intercostal waterways with lots of pretty views. The room was clean and nicely kept. There were lots of pots, pans, and cookware available; more than in other condos I have stayed in. The location was great for driving, but not for walking. It is not walking distance to any of the beaches. My only other complaint was that the bed in the master bedroom was hard and not very comfortable. My children thought the sofa bed was very comfortable.

The Hotel.com description of the lodging indicated a hair dryer would be included in the room. There was no hair dryer and the we were unable to contact the rental service agency to obtain a hair dryer.

The building and room were very nice. The check in was not. We had to go miles out of our way to get the keys to the room and had to take the keys back out of our way to turn our keys in. One of the chairs on the balcony was split so you could not sit in it. The bedspread had a stain on it the size of a plate. The one lamp on the livingroom table did not work and the remote for the television was carroded and did not work. The dish washer had nasty looking water laying in the bottom. With a little maintaince in the room this place would have been great. The room was clean otherwise. It was comfortable and pleasent.

I loved the theme of the hotel. The view was spectacular and the surroundings were peaceful. The gentleman at the hotel was extremely pleasant. However, he was unable to help us check-in when we got there. He claimed the "office" had been closed for 2 years and he doesn't have keys to any of the units as they are all privately owned. We had to drive to a real estate office in Madeira Beach to obtain keys for the unit and then again to return the keys when we checked out. It would have been nice to know this PRIOR to paying them in advance for the stay. The bed was pretty uncomfortable (hard) and the sofa couch was too hard for my daughter to sleep on so we had to go and get an air mattress last minute. However, I have to say that the hotel itself was very clean and maintained and we would probably stay there again (air mattress and keys in hand).

this was a completely self contained condo one bedroom apartment with all appropriate items - dishes; cutlery; microwave; dishwasher; vacuum; etc a very comfortable week; two minor things; there was a garburetor and a modem cord both of which i found out the last day. there is no wi-fi; only one bar and grill within walking distance "the Green Iguana" always full and always busy with specials every day; a nice restaurant; lots of parking and you also have your own laundry in the apartment; a little pricey for a week but well worth it

This is a nice quiet place, the only draw back was it is a 10 minute drive to the beach.

The Boca Ciega Resort & Marina is a condo hotel. The unit we stayed was a Studio on the first floor. It was very tastefully decorated with a small kitchen area along the back wall. It had a stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and full-size refrigerator. It was well stocked with kitchen/dining equipment. There was a good size cupboard for clothes and a very nice bathroom. The problems began with the water in the condo. It strongly smelled of sulpher (rotten egg smell). We had to use bottled water for coffee and brushing out teeth. It was worse in the bathroom than in the kitchen, but once you ran the faucet, the smell lingered throughout the condo. As the off-site management company closed at 5.00pm, there was no-one to call to complain about the smell that evening. The Resort is on a main road. Our room was very close to a busy bridge so it was extremely noisy in the condo. The traffic competed with the loud refrigerator, so we got very little sleep that night. The Management Company where we checked in and returned the key is about 5 miles from the condo. When we returned the key the next morning, we complained about the smelly water. We were told that this is normal in that Resort. Apparently they had forgotten to tell us to run the water for 15 minutes with the windows open when we arrived at the condo. This should have gotten rid of the smell!! Not very helpful after the fact.
