Fairytale castle style home style hotel in this beautiful medieval town. Be aware you can’t drive your car up into the old city - so pack light- you need to park outside the city walls and walk up.
Really great location, private terrace, clean and homely - loved the authentic feel of this place.

Very nice place & staff - in a quiet area - next to the busier streets in town

The room we stayed in is charming, clean, and good value, and the view from the terrace is lovely (though we were surprised that a loud, heavily trafficked road lies just beneath it). Our only issue, which others have had before us, was the check-in. Although we'd repeatedly sent our arrival time, when we showed up at the designated tobacco shop to get the key to the room on another street, we had to wait a not insignificant time as workers in the shop tried to rouse the relevant person.

Absolutely stunning patio with view in old villa in the walled city- fabulous! Grazie Vanna!

Our room was Italian magic! It was a beautifully maintained 700 year old building with a terrace overlooking the countryside. Our room was gorgeous and had everything we needed and we stepped out our door right into the walled city of San Gimignano. Vana was a lovely host. We would love to stay here again!

Great location, helpful owner, nice apartment. Ask them for the daily parking pass, it saves a lot of hassle.

Amazing hotel. Feels like you stepped into Italian castle 1000 years ago with all modern accommodations of present time. Amazing view. Patio. It is one of the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in. Thank you

We had a terrace/balcony with a beautiful view! Our hostess was wonderful. She gave us a bottle of wine when we checked in, and then would bring us her homemade cakes and pies each morning (both very delicious!) The parking lot was somewhat of a pain, but very safe, and that was important as we left some of our luggage in the car. We were in the hills of Tuscany, so a lot of climbing steps but we needed that with eating all the delicious food and drinking lots of vino!! We enjoyed our stay very much!

A family run place with helpful, friendly staff who recommend an excellent restaurant. It’s inside the old city walls and parking is less than a 5 minute walk away.

Our hosts were fantastic and we loved the optional breakfast in the morning. The room was very clean and comfortable and exceeded our expectations. San Gimignano is definitely worth visiting.

This is a hidden gem, beautiful and quiet. Not a full service hotel but the accommodation is a 4 star in my book.

The property is right in the heart of San Gimignano and easy walking distance to the entire village. There was a lovely breakfast and the property was clean and safe. The shutters were difficult to open so our room was dark; we would have liked to look outside and have natural light in our room but overall the stay was lovely.

Very convenient place to stay because is in San Gimignano; park once and enjoy. Very clean, white sheets (as I preferred), and air conditioning. For the price for one night was good choice.

This charming small hotel has an equally charming proprietor and is perfectly located near the peaceful southern end of San Gimignano, close to everything without being on one of the major tourist footpaths. It was incredibly hot while we were there, and the A/C was adequate if not overwhelming.
We would suggest providing slightly clearer and more detailed info about parking in the town parking lots. No. 2 is the closest to the hotel -- No. 1 is in fact a fair distance away and well below the town gate nearest the Torrione (happily, our hostess picked us up there when we made the mistake of thinking it was the closer lot). We also drove into San Gimignano and to the hotel before we were able to figure out what the parking arrangement was. We're still waiting to see if we get fined for violating the traffic-control zone...

The room had a great view to the old city and the surrounding nature but it was not well heated .as well the parking is near. Many good restaurants to be found around and 10 min walk to the main old city and gate. The hosts are friendly and helpful , they offer you a delicious cosy breakfast for extra 7€ per person .

We stayed in San Gimignano for 2 nights. The Palazzo al Torrione2 is a separate building on a quiet street. To check in you need to go to a nearby hotel. The room was clean, with air conditioning and nice shower room.
The wifi did not work at the property. I asked the staff at the desk, and she said that the wifi had not been working for a while, but did not say when it was going to be fixed. This was frustrating because internet access is difficult in Tuscany, especially in the higher/remote towns/villages.
One plus was access to a hotel with a pool 5 minute drive out of town, worth a visit for a day, nice views of San Gimignano.

This is a very cute bed and breakfast with a warm atmosphere. My only complaint was the beds were rock hard, otherwise it was wonderful! Highly recommend.

Great place to stay in a beautiful town. Quiet street right next to all the incredible sights of San Gimignano. Clean well presented room in lovely mult story house. Air conditioning helped during the hot days. The common kitchen area was helpful for breakfast and lunch. Beautiful views from outdoor deck we had breakfast on and watched lightening storms during the night. Would definitely come back again.

Nice clean room, friendly staff. Check in is a little complicated as the "office" is located at a tobacco store in town. Be sure to read instructions. Location is great. Walk to everything. Charming town. Room was simple but clean. Bed was good. No place to park near hotel room. Good all around value.

If you have a car, it's a little difficult staying 'within city walls' as the least expensive parking (6 euros/24 hours parking in lot 1) is 5-6 blocks away (uphill) or you have to pay 20 euros for parking about 1 block away (in lot 2). But it was well worth it for this quaint hotel. We had a room with a balcony that overlooked the wall and countryside, and is just one street parallel to the main restaurant/shopping street. It was spacious, well maintained, quiet; and it was easy to communicate with the owner. San Gimignano is also a delightful town to spend part of a day and evening.

Palazzo al Torrione 2 Is one of the closest hotels to the gate where the buses drop off and pick up. The main street is bustling with activity but this is one street over and was very quiet. Our room was one flight up, no lift, and was large, with comfy bed, small fridge, nice bathroom. We were not sure how to change the AC so it was a little warm, but the windows opened to let in a nice breeze. Breakfast was not included but was offered at 7€ extra pp. We found plenty to eat locally and there is a big supermarket outside the city gate. Our host Silvia met us at checkin after a call, and was helpful and friendly. (Silvia, Laura and Vanna are available at the Tabacchi shop 2 blocks away).
Wifi worked great and there was a pleasant common area.

It's hard for a couple to travel with one teenage daughter and one 21 year old and stay in the same room. Of course, European rooms are often much much smaller. NOT this stay. We enjoyed a huge room with a bathroom down a flight of stairs within our own room. It even had a jacuzzi tub that was uber clean. Although we had a slight snaffu upon check-in, a local art studio attendee shut down her shop to walk us to the local tobac to call and locate the proprietor. Once we checked in, and found our room overlooking the old town wall, we melted into perfect bliss. The hotel was near a fantastic local tratorria and wonderful morning breakfast spot. Perfect place to explore the town -- even though our car had to remain outside the city walls.

The town is absolutely beautiful. We were there a day after it had snowed, and the vineyards were amazing. The town is on a hill, so you get an great 360 view of the Tuscan countryside. Getting there was a little crazy. From Florence, take a train to Pongibossi (approximately 10 Euro per person), then take a bus from the Pongibossi train station to San Gimignano (about 3 Euro per person). The train runs more often than the buses from Florence to Pongibossi, so don't waste a day sitting around waiting. Also, don't let anyone help you with your luggage at the train station (there are people who stand around in the train stations looking to con you out of your hard-earned Euros...they demand that you tip them and make a scene...even if you don't ask for the help or don't need it. Don't let them touch your bags.
The hotel was nice, but for the town we would have even stayed in a cardboard box on the street. There are a few flights of narrow stairs that you must climb inside the hotel, so be prepared. Also the staff is not always at the site. They run the tobacco shop down the street, but they are easy to find. The entire town is composed of two streets that run the length of the town. My new wife and I explored Rome, Florence, Venice, and San G...San G was the best. We only stayed one night, and we still regret it. Stay at least two. Very relaxing, friendly people, great views. Our best restaurant experience in all of Italy was at Trattoria Chiribiri at the wall entrance.
