I enjoyed my stay. The room was attractive, clean and the hotel is located v close to everything in Arezzo that
I needed access to. I would stay here again.

The access to the hotel isn’t easily spotted and it’s not a road you can easily stop a car in. I recommend parking prior to going to hotel.
The hotel is lovely,I had the roof terrace view of Arezzo which is amazing.

Nice place with very friendly staff who help me with my lost luggage

This was a beautiful stay in Arezzo. The staff was fabulous. The breakfast was very good and the attentions to the guest are excellent. The location is excellent as well for shopping, cafes and visiting the historic center. The property itself is not upscale but very enjoyable and quiet

Very convenient hotel to explore the city. Parking is a walk away and it is difficult to drop the baggage outside as it is restricted. The communication with the hotel was good and they were very helpful

Hotel is called "old fashion" and in fact it is so. Receptionits young and very kind persons indeed, however the building might be good in spring or summer time, but not in Fall or Winter. Fixtures are very bed winds are blowimg in. Heather i composed by an air conditionig device, not working at all and a an additional elecric stove located close to the bed because of the short cable. Bathroom is a sort of freezer. Breakfast if it is not taken into account the so called "sweet breakfast" is bsrely acceptable. Valet parking with 20 minutes delay on schedule. Such a bad experience never again.

We stayed 4 nights. The staff was lovely , friendly and helpful. Arezzo has a beautiful compavt, interesting old city with MANY beautiful chirches and museums and they are all a short walk from Hotel Portici. You are also a short walk from the train station. It is as advertised meant to be an old fashioned spot and it is but the bathroom has everything modern and works perfectly. We recommend this place to anyone who is NOT looking for a spiffy modern cubic impersonal spot!

This hotel requires using a key for the medieval door that was very difficult to open. Then you enter a dark isolated hallway and go up an elevator. There’s a door marked with the name of the hotel. No one was there at 1:30pm. Someone did go in with a key at about 1:50pm, completely ignored me until I called out to him. He was the front desk guy! That door also requires a key that looks like a long tool. Then there’s the room key that requires patience, at least 2 hands to turn, jiggle, and open. The room was lovely and the bathroom was clean, just very tiny. I am 5ft, 115lbs and was bumping into the sink while squeezing in and out of the shower. If you’re good with tools and doors that, while charming to look at, are a pain to navigate, then go for it. I was there for one night to see the frescoes and it was an easy 5min. walk from the train and an easy walk to all the main sites.

Two star at best. Unkempt entry and four story walk up to the hotel. Didn’t feel safe in stairwell nor the elevator. Rooms very sparse. Neither my husband or I were able to fit in the shower stall ( we are tall but not large people). Extremely loud with the activity on the street. The breakfast was inedible and not safely presented ( nothing cooled/ on ice) Coffee was good. Would not recommend.

It's a well located place which would deserve 3 stars, but it isn't a 4 star hotel in my view. As such I also see it as overpriced. Furnishings are a bit scarce. The in-room safe is non-existent. We had their best room which has a lovely view over Arezzo, but you hear every conversation at the reception as if people were standing in your room. On the plus side, the staff are super-friendly and helpful.

Spent the night in Arezzo for the antiques fair. We chose this hotel because it was conveniently situated within walking distance of the fair and the main sights. Great staff - very welcoming - and yummy breakfast! The AC in the room....just wow (perfect)!! :)

The best thing about this hotelwas the service. The staff was very, very nice. The hotel is on the 4th floor of a building that is not very attractive. The rooms are clean and decent but not as pictured.

Oct. 2018. It was booked thru Expedia for a Suite with 3 twin beds. We requested a stand up shower. We were escorted to a very, very small room (which I believe would have been a double room at best). They had rearranged furniture to add a third bed. Besides that, the room smelled "AWFUL"....maybe like incense. Even with the windows open it was awful. We requested another room, but none were available. We paid for a suite to accommodate a wheelchair but got a room less than half the size we paid for. They said they were accommodating us for the stand up shower. When reservations were made we were not notified that the suite did not have a stand up shower. As well, we called and requested we arrive a night early and they confirmed our request. The next morning we notified them since we came a day early we would be leaving a day early. That information was not shared with anyone else on staff. When checking out, they tried to charge me for a third night and informed me my credit card was denied. It was denied because they DID NOT have my security code # and payment was arranged thru Expedia. They even threatened to call the police, which we said would be fine. I guess that was a scare tactic to pay for a night which we did not stay. The owner came down & after many conversations, she finally agreed to "waive" if I would call Expedia. Expedia to the "RESCUE".Furthest thing from a 4* hotel, no better than a 2*. Photos must be at least 15 yrs.old. Deceiving advertisement.

Lovely picturesque family run hotel which occupies one of the higher floors of an elegant, porticoed building - from which it derives its name. We stayed ten days. On the very edge of the old city, five minutes' amble to the Piazza Grande and a few hundred yards from the railway station: ideally situated for an exploration of Tuscany by public transport. The hotel staff were charming and friendly, and always available. Sufficient breakfast. With temperatures regularly around 38-40 degrees the air conditioning was magnificent. Young Arezzo gathers in the late evening around the base of the building but we were never troubled by the distant comings and goings - high enough and shuttered enough to muffle the sound. Only eight rooms so intimate. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and Arezzo itself is a jewel.

Wonderful hotel with exceptional staff. Very small and family run, it is a jewel in Arezzo. You are very close to the train station, restaurants and all the places of interest in Arrezzo. Staff speak excellent English and will go out of their way to help you.

The staff went out of their way to assist me at every turn. At breakfast I casually enquired if they have a pastry with custard (cornetto con crema) and when I was told they didnt, I was fine with that. But they kindly went down stairs and across the road to the local pasticceria and got me one at no additional cost! That sums up their exceptional service approach! The room was also one of the most charming I have stayed in, with views across the rooftops of Arezzo. The bathroom was also uncharacteristically huge by Italian standards. I have every intention of returning to Hotel Portici the next time Im in stunning, medieval Arezzo.

Upon arrival, Daniele greeted us with a big smile and made us feel welcomed. He answered all of our questions and personally escorted us , two couples, to our rooms. Arrezo is a beautiful Italian town in Tuscany. We arrived Friday night by car spent Saturday shopping at the antique market. We had so much fun looking at all the beautiful items that were for sale. So glad we went! On Sunday morning we drove to Cortona where Under a Tuscan Sun was filmed at least the Christmas and fountain scene.. To our surprise the beautiful Tuscan sunflowers were in full bloom on the drive between Arezzo and Cortona. A perfect weekend!

hotel portico was a very nice hotel in a great location in arezzo. the staff was very friendly. my only complaint is that because it is in such a great location the noise on the street was a little much for me. i wouldn't change the hotel based on this, i would just ask for an inside room. everything else was perfect!

Staff were all so kind (Seymones, Daniel, Julia and housekeepers), helped us with area information and made us feel very welcome. We had the room with balcony and it had a great bathroom! Hotel is very close to good restaurants and makes the city very easy for those without car. Great walking area is Corso Italia at the end of the block.

Good location on the edge of the old town. Hotel on 4th floor of a building, free parking across the road. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Good location, but its in an old building and hotel is very small with 8 rooms only. Staff were very pleasant and the size of the hotel reflects in a personal touch. The building is very old and the hotel is located on the 4th floor. Car parking is at a sister hotel - 15 mins walk but directions from staff to the sister hotel could be better.

Great location. 5 min walk from train station. Right off Corso Italia where many shops and restaurants are located. Friendly English speaking staff. We had a large room with a large bath and small balcony with a beautiful view of the cathedral. Nice breakfast. Would stay there again.

The hotel is 3 minutes walk from the station. It occupies the top two floors of a building - very steep stairs but there is a dedicated lift if you're tired and hot! We had a family room which was spacious. Children didn't have to share a bed - one had a single bed, the other a sofa bed. We were slightly late checking in but there was no problem. We had to go out for food but there are plenty of places nearby. We found a particularly good basement restaurant - with tables outside too - opposite the hotel. Breakfast was adequate. Delightful and helpful reception staff. Quite a quirky feel overall to the hotel - almost like staying in a private house.

For a non-luxury hotel, this hotel had all we were asking for. The rooms were comfortable and adequately sized for two people. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is perfectly located in the center of Arrezo.

Best breakfast ever! Cakes all home-made daily. Never short of anything & fresh coffee made for you. Room was great, bathroom terrific. We had a quadruple room and were expecting a double & 2 singles, but got an uncomfortable sofa bed. This was mentioned to the reception girls who are going to change the ad to read that, so you are not getting something you are not expecting. Overall, service was the best and a lovely clean hotel room - would definitely stay again!!!
