Property def not 4 star. Not even a 3 star. It’s very run down and needs a major renovation. The only positive thing is the location in the harbor and walking distance to old city

Lovely location - right on Trani harbour. Our room - 211- had a marina & cathedral view. The hotel is a bit tired. As per other reviews, the carpets should be replaced as they were badly stained in places. Appreciate the carpets might be “heritage” but they do need attention. The room itself was big. The windows are high (not floor to ceiling) so anyone of a small height may have problems looking out. The air con was very good - we needed it in the late August heat. It meant sleeping wasn’t an issue. There are some basic things the room could have benefited from such as tea & coffee facilities & a stocked mini bar. The fridge kept our personal drinks cool. The breakfast was good but not enough cooked items such as sausage & bacon - only scrambled eggs. The other choices were good & the cappuccino served by Alfonso was excellent - Alfonso deserves a mention. He spoke good English & gave us some useful tips. I’d also like to mention Carmen on reception. She was lovely & helped when we had a bit of a problem. Trani itself is lovely but probably only for a 2/3 day stay. There are not many English speaking people there & the tourist industry is prepped for Italian’s. On hindsight we should have done a “road trip” in Puglia, travelling south every 2/3 days & staying in different resorts.

A room right on the water overlooking the harbor? Sounds amazing! And it used to be a church? That sounds lovely? Well, the problem was that everything just smelled old, and mildewy, and just plain awful! It made it hard to sleep and even breathe in there. Otherwise, things were pretty nice but the smell utterly ruined the whole thing! It was very sad because we had such high hopes.

The view and location of the hotel were great. However, the building was under construction and there were no signs for the hotel. This, we wandered nearly an hour trying to find the hotel all the while making four or give calls (Note: hotels.com has wrong number) to the hotel reception, from where we did not get adequate help. And when we arrived around 8 pm, there were no free or any other parking near the hotel even though this is why we chose it for our stay. However, the room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is very conveniently situated right smack in the center of town and was great to stay at. The staff (Anna Maria) were just wonderful. The view on the bay and cathedral was spectacular. Parking in peak season is free and on the street, so it took some patience to find a spot. But its very much worth it. The old convent charm was an added plus.

Beautiful place-some rooms are completely renovated and gorgeous-others are in process. Meanwhile it would benefit the owners to clean carpets and upgrade beds in older rooms. Love the site and the view and the 24-hour hospitality! They worked hard to be accommodating and that was greatly appreciated! Def will return

Could not fault our stay here. Fantastic location. Friendly and v helpful staff.One side light wasn't working. We reported it and it was sorted by the time we returned to hotel. Best shower Ive ever had. Quite happy with courtyard view as quiet. Superb breakfast. Only a 10mn flat walk from station. Would highly recommend a stay here.

The location of this property is fantastic, right on the port with beautiful views and close to restaurants and a giant park. The rooms themselves are very sparse. We had a superior room with sea view and it had a bed, a small desk area a fridge and a tiny round table with one chair. I would not rate this as a 4 star hotel, more as a 3 star due to the sparseness of the rooms. The breakfast was average, lots of selection but they served leftovers the next day from what was not eaten the day before. The staff were all fantastic, especially the front desk.

Hotel location is excellent with parking available right in front of hotel. Wonderful view from sea view rooms. Check in is quick. Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom. We did not eat the buffet breakfast as we had an early flight in Naples and breakfast room was not open until 7 am. The hotel needs a facelift, particularly the carpets need to be replaced or cleaned,

This historic and grand hotel is very good and comfortable. It's in the best possible location and our room had unbelievable views of the Trani marina/harbor. Lovely to walk in this city as well with lots of excellent fine dining options if you like shellfish.

The hotel needs a renovation. The room was old and not well maintained with curtains with holes, old features and broken shower. I found the leftovers from the cleaner in the room too. The terrace was also not well maintained and dirty. It hasn’t been clean in a while. The staff was not welcoming or helpful. Even inexistent. On the check in nothing was explained, only when they realize I have booked for 2 people but it was only me, the comment was “but we don’t refund you any money ok?” - Neither I wanted the money or asked for it. It was pretty rude. No directions or local recommendations were given. Being 1st of May the following day, for a good service, If I was them, i would recommend places and help booking restaurants. Nothing was done. The internet was really bad too. Breakfast was also terrible. Cheap juices & yogurts and filter coffee. Only at the check out I was treated well when I was literally leaving, as I was request a good review. I believe the hotel is too much work for the owners and to have it in a good state, they will need to invest lots of money on a good renovation, new staff, ect. A pity as I was expecting something positive out of my stay.

Great location by the port with a view of the cathedral. The town is fairly small so everything is within walking distance. Free parking right by the hotel. Large room and bathroom. Shower was a bit small. Lovely breakfast in a very impressive room. Carpets in the hotel are wearing a bit thin. Stayed 1 night in February. Could have stayed for longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this hotel. It was clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. But most of all the location was perfect for walking and exploring the old port area. Ask for an ocean view room - it was a lovely view. Only improvement would be to renew the carpets in the rooms. Oh and the breakfast was the best we’ve had on our whole trip!
