Great restaurant at this hotel

Bed too strong

Stayed here numerous times and as always it was a great stay.

The hotel itself is very nice and has an XL parking area for guests which is great. The downside started when I walked in to talk to the front desk to check in - she passed me my keys and didn’t explain any of the amenities: hours of operation for the gym, the pool, the laundry, the restaurant… etc.
She said everything I needed would be on this little sheet that was attached to my room key package.
I chose this hotel because I wanted to feel safe and comfortable in a nicer hotel in the area, and it almost felt like the service at front desk was more like a 1 star motel.
The room itself was super comfortable, and I got room service since I was exhausted from a long drive. It arrived promptly within 25 minutes (you pay for this separately) and the meal was delicious.
Overall I enjoyed the actual hotel room, though didn’t even know there was a gym until later so I ended up spending 3 hours in the room watching TV.
I would probably try a different hotel next time. Just to see what other ones are like in the area.

It was such a great stay. Great good and amazing spa.

Parking was an issue; definitely not enough spaces for handicap parking.
Food in restaurant was delicious but expensive.
The public pictures do not portray the property accurately, it’s in a congested, high traffic area.
Room was clean and comfortable, towels, although clean, showed their age.

The room stank and the air quality was very bad.. we arrived late to the property and we were very tired.. on top of the air quality, the toilet was full of poop.. I don't recommend this property...

Full service. Restaurant, conference centre, spa erc.

Over priced for a hard mattress and no breakfast included. Expedia even showed a reduced price and once I booked the price wasn't the same. Due to time constraints I wasn't able to cancel. Hotel was average and didn't even provide to-go cups. Hotel restaurant staff were a bit arrogant so our party went elsewhere. I wouldn't stay there again.

Hotel was easy to find, and easy to get back en route the following day. Restaurant meal was very good, as was the buffet breakfast the next day. Parking was generous and convenient to the door nearest our elevator. There were a lot of charging stations for e-cars (our vehicle was gasoline-driven but we noticed about 8 charging stations for Teslas and another right or so for most other models).
5.0
Hotel was great but the restaurant was a complete disappointment.

They overcharge for dogs $35, even that our dog doesn’t shed!

We always enjoy the Universal as our halfway stop to and from Halifax. The restaurant is excellent with food quality and staff.

Sooo clean, mornern, amount lightning in the room was impressive, etc.

There should be tea bags in the pantry, drinking water and breakfast should be included..

Pool view room was a cool view but room smelled so strongly of chlorine our eyes were watering.

The hotel was chosen for its location, we were taking the ferry the following morning.
Our room was fine, great lighting and comfortable bed. You can see that the rooms had been renovated, but the ceilings are super low. Having said that, the room was fine and clean. We had a great dinner at the restaurant.
5.0
Room was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was excellent and had a bar with billiard table and darts!

We enjoyed this hotel. Easy access to tesla and other electric charging. My kids enjoyed the pool, although they were disappointed the slide wasn't open in the morning. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Nice clean and quiet rooms, easy check in. Nice pool but overcrowded on a Fri night, hard to relax and enjoy. Hot tub was cold but hot showers after were nice.

The hotel is next part of a convention centre complex and situated close to where two major autoroutes (20 & 85) intersect; so good location if you are planning to travel further into Gaspé or turn south to the Maritimes. But it also means that hotel location is not situated in particularly attractive part of Rivière-du-Loup.
The staff are friendly and courteous in both French and English; there is ample parking (including charging stations); and the room we stayed in was clean, tidy, and quiet. The AC was excellent and quiet.
There is room service and a restaurant on the premises; the hotel restaurant appeared to be popular with both hotel guests and locals; several large family and friend gatherings were taking place in the restaurant and in the hotel's private dining rooms just off from restaurant. The restaurant service was good; the food arrived quickly (in spite of the large numbers being served) and was in line with my expectations. Decent, but not especially memorable.
The restaurant, because it was so busy, was excessively noisy; we both wished that we had opted for room service instead.
Because of an unexpected change in vacation plans, we ended staying on a Saturday night -- instead of midweek as we had originally planned. That meant that the rate was almost twice as much as the rate we paid for a comparable hotel room in Québec City.
We still recommend the hotel because it was clean and quiet and conveniently located

I liked access for handicapped people and easy contact with staff.

Very ordinary for the high price they charged

All good.

Nice clean hotel.
1.5
Very convenient location. Very large, clean room. Unfortunately, the sound of the AC unit was so loud at night... It was really annoying. Not sure we'll stay there again.
4.0
Nice place and good location on our way through. The beds were very comfortable. At this price though, they should include breakfast.
3.0
Hotel was easy to check-in to, short walk from parking lot. Arcade in the basement was a nice find. Didn't try the restaurant, but there weren't many restaurants nearby and nothing around that's walkable.
Room was dated, and smelled of chlorine/chemicals. Lots of chipped tile, outdated/broken furnishing. Bed wasn't super comfortable. Pool was not bad, 4 ft deep. Water slide was a joke, rocked all over the place when kids went down. Hot tub was a 'cold tub' with jets?
Overall I'd say below average hotel compared to like a Best Western or other big name.
4.0
It is an affordable, clean place to stay while in transit between two destinations.
