Quiet property with rustic feel. It was away from night noise and traffic. Slept like a baby! Close to other good entertainment spots and easy to reach the beach!

I count find that hotel nowhere it doesn't even pop up on the gps I arrived HOURS late and the front entrance don't even look like a hotel they tried to keep telling me that the hotel is "right here" instead of being understanding , I wasn't trying to get charged late fee. The front entrance look like a garage nth like the picture. Their communication could be better. And checkout is not wat it says on the app they need to fix that it's wayyyyyy earlier and dogs be barking like crazy and they don't have parking really u just park in from of the tree like create ur own parking

Fabulous and beautiful. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Villas were amazing.
Lovely quiet area, but sometimes some noise nearby (music) and dogs barking in the night.
Great pool and bar/restaurant area. But note that it shuts at 7pm and there's not a lot else nearby.
Food and drinks were very good.

I'd like to write a great review but our last day there a home 2 doors down the street had music blasting from 10am untill 2 am nonstop. no escape from it and no help from staff or local police. I'm glad we didn't come with more people

This was our combined 4th trip to Negril. This property was recommended from a friend because we wanted to stay in on e spot for 2 weeks. This little gem is perfection. There are not enough words to describe how perfect this location and little boutique hotel turned out to be. We have just returned home yesterday and have booked for next March. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The staff was amazing. The pool was even enjoyable and we are not pool people. Nothing but excellent ratings for this place. You will not be disappointed!!!

Enjoyed my stay .
Negatives :
The neighbor was playin loud music Saturday 9 at night till ? The mosquitoes had a feast in my room until I asked them housekeeping staff to “kill any you see!” (They sprayed it).
Positives:
friendly staff including young lady at the desk at night, dining staff, housekeeping, staff, quiet location ( minus sat night) view , pool, ocean swimming off the rocks. Felt like we had the the whole place to ourselves . Price has been adjusted to fit the market.

Absolutely fantastic! The view is (of course) amazing but what sets it apart is the fun, engaged staff that know the perfect balance between attentiveness and giving you space to enjoy the solitude of the moment. Best chef and bartender in Negril!!

Amazing experience. Clean and comfy rooms with exceptional staff. Site's pet helped us not miss our own pets. Take care of little Foxy please.

I really enjoyed my stay at Idle Awhile cliffs. It is further west of Negril than I thought but we made it work. Be sure to arrange taxi service especially in the evening or at night as taxis didn't seem to pass by often.
- The grounds were kept clean
- The rooms can use a slight update. For instance, the patio door didn't have a mesh so we couldn't open them or we would be fighting mosquitos all night.
- The staff were kind and accommodating.
- The a la cart meals were pretty good. I was happy to get complementary breakfast. I would love it if the menu was expanded to include more authentic Jamaican food options.
- The pool was nice a clean.

We had a nice stay at this resort. It is a bit out-of-the-way - which suited us fine! - and some of the buildings need a little TLC. But wow, what a peaceful place! we had the place pretty much to ourselves, and the location, pool, views, staff, outdoor restaurant, and fresh tasty food, cooked to order, were absolutely wonderful. We tread water in the ocean, then swam off the brine in the pool, had cocktails with the family at sunset while they cooked up here shrimp salads and fish filets. For a change of pace, we walked ten minutes to Murphy’s for dinner once or twice. If they boosted the WiFi (quite weak in many areas; cellular service not much better), and water pressure upstairs in our villa, they could be charging a whole lot more money. Four stars.

Loved and appreciated the dedicated staff and the ease of communication. The hotel seemed very well managed. Nice, quiet, peaceful cliff location with elevated views of the ocean. The chef was very talented with creative, fresh and healthy Jamaican inspired cuisine. The units were tastefully designed and furnished in a relaxed and chic, island modern style. Shuttle to the beach property was a fantastic addition. IdleAwhile, I will be back! Thanks for making a single female traveler feel like a Queen! Bless!

Very great Villa, treated us like we were at home.

The pool area could have been way more prepped, clean and welcoming because it looked kinda a apokalypse with stuff hanging from the sun roof and so on.

When staying on the cliff side of Negril, we always look here first. It is quiet, clean, comfortable, calm. The food is excellent, the service is perfect, the ambience is naturalistic, the sea is deep, the pool is warm.

This is a small hotel quite a ways away from the beach. It has great views of the ocean and lots of trees for a secluded feel. Staff were all very friendly. Cons: Not really a restaurant, there is a grill with a few outdoor tables. No beach access to walk down into water. No glass in the windows, just screens and shutters. Dogs barking and roosters crowing. Bad WiFi.

idle awhile cliffs is an excellent escape from the hustle and an ideal place to truly get off the grid. This is not a place to sit on your phone and scroll Instagram. This is a place to read a book and get pampered by an amazing staff at a rustic modern Island getaway. Pretty darn good I would say if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Beautiful tranquility and relaxation. Small boutique style only 7 units. The complimentary breakfast cooked fresh everyday was amazing. Free shuttle to their Beach Property was great as well.
Mosquitoes were an issue though . There are no screens on windows or sliding glass doors.

Unfortunately, I just wrote a high-quality lengthy review that Hotels.com website botched and erased it all upon trying to submit it. When uploading my photos, this Hotels.com site said my connection was slow. I have 1 Gigabit upload speed. It is not slow. Shame on Hotels.com for ruining this review and my experience with Hotels.com. NOT Idle Awhile.
I liked the resort a lot. Staff was awesome, food was really good, the beds were amazingly comfortable. Phones only dialed other rooms so you couldn't call outside of the resort. Mosquitos were aplenty. A great escape and the daily beach shuttle was a big plus.

This is a perfectly perched small boutique hotel on the cliffs of the west end of Negril. The two story villas are modern and clean with dramatic views from tiled decks on both levels of the three ocean front units just above the cliffiside pool. The four motel units have only a garden view but are much less expensive. The villas have louvered windows and triple sliding glass doors that allow you to have have the house wide open for the breezes. The pool is immaculate and provides sun and shade. There is a covered cabana for yoga or reading and stoned paved walkways to a perch on the cliffs to jump into the ocean and a ladder to get up easily. The ocean is often rough but hearty swimmers will love the waves and snorkeling. The bar and small food service area are covered with sail awnings. Like everywhere in Jamaica, the delivery of the meal is a potenitally multihour event, but you can lounge by the pool or on your porch and they will summon you for the meal. The cooking and the service were excellent. Small, very private feel with only two other families present, we felt like we had the property to ourselves. There is a daily private shuttle to their beach property, for a taste of the more bustling scene of their villas on Seven Mile Beach. Great Place and great location to explore the other cliffside attractions.

Look aweful from the ourside. Terrible. But was so surprised when i open the soor. Room is clean and comfortable. Impressed. But outside look like a rundown village

Really nice staff who were unobtrusive and friendly. This place is a good hideout for relaxing, and is also very secure. You need a car though, as it is a little bit out of the way. Driving in Jamaica is easy, so don't be afraid of that prospect! Food was good, drinks were strong, pool was clean and refreshing, and the sunsets are WAY better than Rick's Café, not kidding. Go there and chill.

We decided to visit Jamaica at the last minute. We went with this hotel because they had a shuttle to their sister hotel at the beach which let us have both beach and cliff world. It worked out perfectly for us. There was snorkeling when the water was calm at the cliffs and the staff could not have been friendlier. the restaurant/food service was very personal and the chef was excellent. At the beach location we took advantage of hotel security and the staff's assistance in beach activities through the locals they knew and trusted. All in all I would return there without question. The guests we met were also neighborly and very helpful.

Nice off the beaten path location. Little inconvenient to get back to town…yet that is a benefit . Watch dogs were barking ( noticed it more at first then only a little bit ) in the night. It gave a feeling of security as no one was going to get Past those dogs. And they were super friendly to guests , plus you wouldnt know they were there in less you look for them.

This resort was wonderful. We went during down season, so there were only a handful of other couples there, but the chef and bartender were still fantastic and available all day, and it made our stay particularly peaceful. The cliffs resort is located on the far end of the Negril cliffs, but the hotel staff were super helpful about getting us a shuttle or cab every time we wanted to go into town, and they ran a daily free shuttle service over to their location on the beach. The resort grounds were beautiful and well maintained, the view of the ocean was gorgeous, and our room was spacious and well kept. I would recommend the location to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway.

Our stay was amazing! Our room was right by the ocean so we were greeted with a breathtaking view of a Negril sunset when we arrived. The staff members were fantastic. They helped my bf surprise me with a birthday dinner oceanside and really went above and beyond to create that special moment for us. Rakesha and Jenora were some of the staff members who assisted us during our stay. The only thing that we didnt like was that many ants quickly appear in the kitchen for the smallest crumb, grain of rice or drop of juice on the counter. We suggest to be careful not to leave food on the counter unattended for any length of time and clean up any crumbs/spills immediately. We loved it there and hope to return someday.

This hotel was a piece of heaven. If you're looking for peace and tranquility....romantic get away or a relaxing experience please choose Idle Awhile! Ms. Sandra is the property manager and was very accommodating for me. Fabien the bartender took care of me with my favorite drinks! Yes, try the rum punch! Chef Shavon was amazing. He prepared breakfast for me and gave me the option of when and where I would like my meals served. I felt very comfortable and safe as a female solo traveler. Ms. Sandra has a preferred car service and shuttle that she can recommend. I will return very soon!
