Lovely setting overlooking castle.... however very tired room, hair in bathroom on arrival, white dog hair all over carpet. Very good staff .
4.3
Very nice older hotel, probably very high class and grand in its day, clean , friendly, not enough plug ins in room, but they lent us an extension cord at front desk. Restaurant was good, would stay again
4.3
The hotel is a stunning building and the ground floor is welcoming and pleasant. The bedroom was in poor condition and in urgent need of an upgrade.
4.3
Warm welcome on arrival. Asked if an upgrade was possible and was given one. Really appreciated this as we were there for 5 nights. Lovely spacious room and bathroom on 3rd floor. Very pleasant staff, and great service in what was a very busy restaurant. Ate in every night as the food was so good and very reasonably priced. Portions were large. Pool is lovely, an excellent facility. Hotel is in a good location, easy to access, and parking is plentyful. Caernarfon is a good location for branching out to most areas and road system is very good. Excellent Texaco petrol station nearby. Would certainly stay here again.

This was a great place to stay. So very central, friendly, helpful staff. Pool, sauna, steam room kept in immaculate condition. Rooms lovely & clean with a very comfortable bed. Brekky served all you could want. Highly recommed this hotel we loved it.
4.3
Super time enjoyed, lovely room and facilities, staff were kind and brilliant. Would be delighted to stay again in the future.
4.3
Friendly staff. Clean well located hotel.
The room was good size but the TV was too small for the room. You could hardly see it from the bed.
4.3
Wide and quiet room, good meals,it’s very comfortable hotel.
4.3
Excellent staff and accommodation. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room here amazing. The food was incredible and friendly waiters.
Also, they made us feel so welcome with our dog. Private dining area, which was beautiful, and a dog bed and treats for the dog on arrival.
Amazing.
Would definitely recommend it to friends and stay there again.
4.3
The hotel is a short walk from the castle and has free parking. Our room was adequate, but had quite a high step down into the bathroom which worried us, so we left the light on all night. Considering the cost of the room I would have expected some toiletries and water in the room. Although dinner was very good, breakfast was buffet style and was just okay, the sausages had no taste.
4.3
Very friendly staff. Large rooms.

In a town that has sadly gone down-hill, this hotel and its private client pricing structure leaves a lot to be desired. The Celtic Royal, like Caernarfon, has seen better days... and should price itself accordingly.
I booked a "better" room, and dinner, going by the dexscription and pictures... but I really should have held off the dinner booking.
Pulling into the car park and seeing a small fleet of coaches parked up the alrm bells started.
Horses for courses... and if you are offering a coach party type hotel (and budget) all is good... but not if you are asking other guests to pay over the odds.
It is very suitable for a budget tour hotel... but that's all.
And "dinner"... just sad.
Some investment and it could be lovely... or keep it as tour hotel... but they really should not charge private guests over the odds for shoddy service etc.
Why call it dreadful...because for the money I paid... it was!
From here I went to Llandudno... stayed in a hotel at excactly the same rate for 2 glorious days... Celtic Royal... AVOID... unless your on a coach of course

We enjoyed our stay. The room was nice. The pool and sauna were very clean and enjoyable and the food in the bistro was good.
4.3
Really enjoyed staying at this hotel even though it was just for 1 night. Staff and food was excellent and pool and gym were a bonus. Great location with easy walking distance to town and castle.
Would definitely use again.

It’s an OK hotel. Beds not comfy . Nice environment and love the pub and bar
4.3
Had a great stay, even if just for a one night stop over, but loved the hotel and town. Nice pool, good sized rooms and good comfort in a celtic/highland-inspired hotel.
4.3
The view from the window was, at best, boring. Only 1 easy chair in the room.
4.3
Thank you.

Lovely breakfast and room was nice and the spa is lovely.
Thank you

Great hotel conveniently situated. Recently refurbished in a quality manner. Brilliant staff and the food was excellent too. Can't really fault it. Acid test is would I stay again...... Most definitely.
4.3
Check in on arrival quick and easy and reception staff polite . The room was clean and tidy and i couldn't find anything at all to complain about. Meals were all good but unlike on previous visits, you now have to book a time for each meal at reception beforehand which for breakfast not ideal being a pensioner with no regular time frame.
Waiting staff were also polite and courteous.
Having a free carpark onsite was also a plus point.
Maybe some onsite EV car chargers would be useful as there are so few of them in town or bangor that work, a nightmare for owners.
4.3
Room was clean. Towels are soft and fluffy. Bed was comfy. Just one gripe, it was quite warm in the room. Breakfast and Check in were also excellent.
4.3
Good location and clean hotel. However, very noisy room. Lots of noisy kids outside, plus overlooked the bins so lots of seagulls.
4.3
Very poor service - we had to wait for 55mins from ordering our meal to receiving it!
4.3
All rooms need a major update, but all in all a good hotel, pool and gym area very clean and modern
4.3
Classic old hotel central to all. Only complaint is that windows would not open and with no AC, room and restaurant were warm and stuffy.
4.3
Clean room breakfast good swimming pool well kept staff friendly
4.3
Thoroughly enjoyed.

Really impressed with the lovely welcome we received on arrival. Our room was large, clean and comfortable.
The pool, sauna and steam are excellent.
The hotel is in a great location for exploring Carnaerfon.

We recently stayed at the Celtic Royal Hotel in Caernarfon for our daughter's 5th birthday, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The hotel's central location made it easy for us to explore the town, and the property itself was in excellent condition. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, adding a warm touch to our stay.
One of the highlights was the swimming pool—immaculately clean, with tidy changing rooms and a welcoming atmosphere. It was perfect for some family fun and relaxation.
The only minor issue we encountered was the comfort of the beds. We found them quite uncomfortable, particularly for side-sleepers, as they caused some discomfort to my ribs.
Despite this small inconvenience, our stay was wonderful, and we left with many happy memories. We would definitely consider returning, especially if the beds are updated!
4.3
Lovely rooms. Amazing pool. Fantastic location and the building is just glorious. Only negative for me is the bed which is a problem I find with almost every hotel where the mattress is just way too firm and I wake up sore and poorly rested.
If you like firm mattresses this is a perfect hotel. If you don’t like them but can tolerate i still would recommend.
4.3
Well maintained, clean and spacious rooms.
4.3
Lovely hotel, staff are great and nothing is too much trouble for them. We will certainly be going again
