Terrible stay

We book in 4pm in the evening and the room wasn't ready. On arrival i was told their restaurant and bar was out of service due to refurbishment. The remote had no battery and most of the time there is no one at reception. There was one cup in cupboard and the fridge could not close and kettle did not work.I was told security would be on site at 8pm but since i been there, there has been no security.i book in friday and i got one tissue, there was no room service and when i ask, i was told i was not there and there should be two set of key but they cant find one set so they were unable to enter because we was not there, mined you when i booked i was guaranteed private beach and was told because blu lagoon is shut down, we couldn't access the beach because the hiil is too steep and we had our baby so we had to visit outside beach and knowing they couldn't find one set of keys made me anxious and not safe.We were book for friday until monday but we book out sunday after world cup and again no one in the office so we left the keys with one of the worker. We are very disappointed with our stay but hope improvements are made for future guests.

The stay was overall pretty good. I think I would stay there again, but it would not neccessarly be my first choice. There was another couple that we were with that had a suite with a kitchen and the oven did not work. Also, the pool lights in the community pool did not work. The gas grill at the community pool was not operational either. There are small things that needed repair. This is a nice property. Air conditioners work, they keep the rooms clean and neat. The time for the office to be open was spotty. We pulled up at about 7:30 pm and barley got into our room. The security gaurd had to call someone to come to the property.
The Lagoon was nice, but seems as though they would have cleaned this portion of the property better than what it was.

om this property you have s piece of mind wake up to birds and a beautiful view of the hills

The road to and from the property leaves a whole lot to be mindful of. The destruction of the road by the government leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I wouldn’t be going back to that area anytime soon. The property is isolated and have steep terrains to walk. Average accommodation. The only bright spark is the local taxi driver named Phillip, very courteous, knowledgeable and a kindred spirit

Tropical Lagoon Resort has a very inviting atmosphere despite the obvious reconstruction efforts on property. I called en route to secure dinner (anticipated late arrival) and reception was very helpful with this. My check in process was very quick, and we got to our room within minutes of arrival. General information for the stay (Wi-Fi password, breakfast hours etc) was not thoroughly/openly disclosed. Arrived late afternoon and wanted to take a dip in the pool. Pool towels were not available (laundry attendants had already left and there seemed to be no access to provide me with one). In the late evening - lighting around the property (parking area, room garden etc) was sub-standard. Room was clean and appliances all worked. We had no hot water to shower (though advertised as an amenity) and was told that they forgot to put the switch on... If you're looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle - this resort is quiet and relaxing. View is amazing! I'm sure that after all has been done on site - I shall visit again. If you leave your door open for a split second, however, be prepared for flying bugs - quite noticeable during my time there!

The close proximity to the Lagoon was a definite plus. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The grounds were lush, well kept and “organic”.

Friendly and helpful general manager. Beautiful beach bar with friendly staff, a pretty lagoon view, and good music! Just keep in mind that it is very hilly so may not be best for someone with limited walking ability.

The staff was amazing. We celebrated my husbands birthday and was surprised in our villa with ice cream for everyone by our housekeeper Nicola. Everyone from the front desk staff was awesome. This was our second stay at the resort. We look forward to many more future stays.

It’s a beautiful place, staff was ok. Only issue is there wasn’t much utensils we had to buy our own stuff, the place is private and quiet the grounds is green and very clean.
Much recommended

This is a great spot for a quiet getaway. The views are spectacular! The room we had booked was not available upon check in, so they put us in one room for the first night then upgraded us to a beautiful suite for the rest of our stay! Yes, the walk down to the lagoon is a bit steep, but definitely worth the trek. The meals we ate were tasty and made to order. When we go back to Jamaica (whenever that may be) we would definitely stay here again!
2.0 / 10.0
The hotel did not really meet our expectations, when comparing to the other 3 hotels we stayed at during our Jamaica trip. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights.
Pros:
- Location is good, right next door to blue lagoon and has own beachfront with bar/grill, kayaks, etc.
- Also the property area is nice in a steep hill with beautiful views.
- Friendly and helpful staff
Cons:
- The first room (Room name: Banana) we were given had no hot water during the first 2 nights, after this they changed us to another room for the last night
- The Banana room was moldy, water even dripping from roof from apartment above
- The whole apartment was falling into the canyon below, cracks in floor and the floor was not level
- Overall condition not good of our room or the other buildings in the hotel, or pool areas
- Breakfast not that versatile
- Expensive compared to overall quality

The surroundings are impressive and view breathtaking... really wonderful view of the sea and lush vegetation! The property is very well kept and painstakingly clean (including the two swimming pools)!
Access to a private beach not for the physically unfit, but well worth the journey down a steep hill)..
Meals are good and staff are pleasant and make an effort to address problems (would be nice if there weren't any!).
Internet access needs to be improved,

The property is quite beautiful with lovely views of the lagoon, and the surrounding mountains. The first night we were there, there were a few deficiencies with our room, which were rectified the following day. Over all, our room, and I suspect the others need a refit/reno, which I believe they are in the process of doing. The staff were fantastic: Cordaline in the restaurant went above and beyond the call of duty. Devina who cleaned our room was fantastic and a joy. Monique in the front desk, who was just one of two front desk staff that I spoke with was wonderful. The food in the restaurant was also quite good, though our experience was limited. We ate breakfast every day, and I had ackee and salt fish with boiled banana and boiled breadfruit. It was excellent. My wife was happy to have fried eggs with hard dough, and she was happy. Our first dinner there was okay. My wife was not pleased with her stewed chicken (shes Jamaican and knows how to cook stewed chicken). It was clear that it was a rush job. I had curried shrimp, and it was okay. I informed the chef of our somewhat disappointed experience with the dinner, and he asked me to give him another chance with a fish dish, and so I obliged, and he delivered. We ad dinner there the last night. A word of caution: the road to the lagoon is VERY steep. Elderly, people in not so great health and people wot bad knees or bad hips would be advised to access the lagoon from the other side.

Enjoyable stay at Tropical Lagoon. Banana Room was a convenient choice for us, a bit overpriced though. Considering the room fee, breakfast should have been more varied, not only toast+butter/marmalade, egg, coffee/tea, juice... Some fruits (local fresh banana or something...) & something for the toast perhaps? Little things, but make a difference. Also, one morning they had no bread at all at the restaurant, one evening no fresh fish... All in all, restaurant service leaves some room for improvement. More positive sides: Most of staff helpful & friendly, surroundings beautiful, location near perfect. Nice, safe and quiet place. (apart from "nature's sounds"...) Phillip H. & Kemar (D. Mckenzie) our drivers for airport transportation & some daily trips deserve some praise here, recommended! Also Attractions Link tours.
Route taxis work great when heading out to town or the other way from Tropical Lagoon... cheap & fun way to get familiar with locals and the area.

The property was beautiful. Access to the blue lagoon was a plus!

Nice resort overall ; staff was great
have 3 critiques
1. I know they inform you that the resort is on hill and that the path to the lagoon is steep ; however I think that with some slight capital improvement a railing system should be put in place on the walkway down as to make to walk not so dangerous . my wife had a slip going down on the first day and hurt her wrist .
2/ Wifi is not really available everywhere on the grounds . in our very villa there was no wifi and was told by the staff that it would work by the poolside and the restaurant . well that's fine . But is having wifi in the rooms for customer ease that much to ask for .
and finally we stayed in the black mango . there is a mold water spot that is very apparent on the bathroom ceiling ???
no one took care of it . and also the fridge needs updating ; the compressor is very noisy and can break to peace and serenity that could be present in the quiet nights in Port A .
nice place to visit but they should invest a little more in the issue I mentioned above to improve the overall experience .

Wonderful resort, great location, nice rooms, friendly and helpful staff, but the water pressure (defective pressure switch), wifi and restaurant/bar needs fixing.

The location is perfect on the hill top next to the Blue Lagoon, which is a famous place of interest near Port Antonio. The property has a small beach right to the lagoon. The service is nice. Finding my friend left our drivers license at the resort, they send me an email and offered to mail it to me. However, renovation is needed before they can make the stay more comfortable.

Nicole was awesome and all other staff were lovely as well. Be careful and don't let your children play inthe sand. Sands flies will bite them and swell their hands.

This is not the typical "All Inclusive" resort you would find in negril or Ocho Rios. If you are looking for a relaxing location to see the pure beauty of Jamaica then you will enjoy this location. No entertainment or butler service. Nice villas located just a 100 yard walk from the "Blue Lagoon". Not as crowded as other tourist locations.

This is a lovely hotel with very helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay very much. Beware: you need to be in a reasonably fit condition to walk up the slope to your hotel room, and down the slope to the Blue Lagoon.
