Came down for the Christmas parade & festivities. So glad we chose La Mer for our stay. The room was tastefully appointed, actually looked recently renovated and the hotel was very clean. The Pier House restaurant at the hotel is very pretty inside and we had a beautiful breakfast. Disappointed that we didn’t go there for dinner or to sit at the beautiful bar for a drink and some apps! The hotel is a very short drive to Washington Street shopping and the beach is literally across the street. We’ve stayed at B&B’s down in Cape May which are absolutely beautiful, but if you’re looking for a peaceful little retreat with stunning ocean views, La Mer is the place to be.

Clean, friendly, luxurious-- definitely one of the most enjoyable stays of my life -- which is a lot to say for a solo off-season vacation where I didn't know a soul. The room was thoughtfully constructed and beautifully furnished. The kitchenette was more kitchen-like than any room I have ever stayed in that was not an efficiency. Housekeeping was impecable. The Pier House Restaurant service and food was top notch. The concierge,Caskia, was a local who really knew the area well. The staff treated me like we had been lifetime friends. What more could I ask for?

We went in mid-October. They had closed the "heated" pool the day before which was disappointing. The ocean view room we had was very nice & spacious. I was put off by the photos of these rooms showing trays of food and trendy blue water bottles. They do not offer room service nor was the restaurant even open the duration of our stay. They opened for breakfast as we were leaving Friday. Too little too late. When we tried to get a couple of wine glasses to take back to our room the front desk was unable to accommodate even that. The Keurig coffee maker was difficult to get to work. The large walk in shower looked awesome and the idea is nice but the practicality of the giant overhead shower head leaves you with a wet head and no option for directionality. But it was still nice and encompassing. On a PLUS side, the maid service was timely and good even though there was a little hair noticeable on the bathroom floor daily as well as on arrival. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean and crisp. We left the doors open at night so we could hear the ocean but the dunes sufficiently block this and we could barely hear any waves. Still, the 3rd floor gives a very nice view. Plenty of sufficient parking. I would recommend, but will be trying other hotels in the future. The 4pm check in seems a little late compared to other hotels we have frequented in the past.

The room was directly under an HVAC fan unit that apparently served the entire floor or wing. It was extraordinarily and uncomfortably loud during the entire stay and could not be turned off. That was one reason (in addition to some other personal reasons) that we decided to check out early, even understanding that we would be charged for the second, unused night of our booking. But the early checkout also resulted in some additional and erroneous charges that we are still waiting to be resolved. All lighting in the room was extremely cold, bluish light that was unbearable - we only left a single warmer light in the small kitchen area on after dark. How can any property think that people find such lighting comfortable?

Other than the initial location of the room, this hotel was fabulous. We had requested a quiet room and they initially gave us a room opposite the elevator. They were willing to give us a different room, but there was a small up charge, Which we paid. The location is good, but it is not right near the Washington St., Mall in Cape May. It is right across the street from the beach and it’s location is quiet.

My stay at La Mer was outstanding. The location was beautiful and convenient to the beach, good access to the town, and most importantly great service. From the initial arrival, I received great recommendations from the check in staff - Allie and Helen - who gave me great tips on things to do and logistics for my stay. They went above and beyond to make my anniversary trip with my wife a pleasant stay! The staff on the beach were also incredibly friendly and efficient. Would come again!

I stayed here with my 3 teenage children and the accommodations were wonderful. Beautiful ocean view off the private balcony. The room was perfectly outfitted for our needs with a fridge, stove-top, and microwave. Everything was clean and modern. The staff were very hospitable and helpful. Highly recommend!

The staff was friendly and helpful and the condo was very clean and spacious. we were in the middle of it all which was great and parking was easy with the pass. The only complaint i have was that we had to pay extra money for chairs for the beach across the way . the only other option was to get in the car and go back to the main hotel beach area and get those and remain there. This was an inconvenience. the hotel should work with the local vendor to offer those staying at the 4 condo's and should be included in the price. I shared the feedback, but the answer was that she would share the feedback and if enough people would complain then they would consider changing it. For the price of the condo each night , that should have been taken off my bill.
