I'm not going to lie this accommodation is only suitable to those who are mobile, don't mind walking up steps or who have access to a car. This is clearly outlined by the property so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
The area is lovely and picturesque, much better than Amalfi, which is just around the corner.

Villa Rosa was nice but the hill to get to the main road is vertical. They have no way to help you get to the top especially when it is time to leave with your luggage. Luciano luckily helped us with some of our luggage, but you would think with a vertical hill they would have something. The small town below doesn’t offer many different options for food, but the views are spectacular. Overall it was fine, but it’s very remote and the location is inconvenient.

A great property to host a family. Our own patio area and access to the pool which was clean and had great views / sun.
The property is in a stunning valley between Ravello and Atrani. No need for a vehicle whilst there as Atrani (and Amalfi) are only a short walk away where you can get to the beach and the town centres with access to shops and lovely restaurants.

No one spoke English, the WiFi doesn’t work and the down deposit has to be in cash not on website

Great experience, very beautiful!

This is a very lovely, rural property built into the mountainside outside Atrani. The road ways within the property are very steep with lots of steps too. Probably best suited to those with cars to get around though there is a great bus service that stops just up the road on the route between Amalfi & Ravello. At the rear of the property is a walkway of about 200 steps down to Atrani & Amalfi is a short walk from there. The villa I stayed in was spotless, loads of room, fully equipped kitchen & rooftop sun terrace. However there is no air conditioning so it was always very warm. Lovely quiet pool area & self service laundry facility. A very tranquil atmosphere through the property. Probably best suited to families or those looking for a quiet break.

View was amazing. Beds not so great. Driveway very very challenging. If you rent a scooter I'd recommend just parking at the top. It will save you the 2 falls I had.

It wasn't actually in Ravello, it was in Atrani and so was a difficult journey to get to Ravello itself. The bus service was bad after waiting for over an hour one came past but didn't stop because it was full then we waited for another 35 minutes for the next one and had to stand up all the way.

The property and apartments were absolutely stunning, the views and gardens were incredible. The only issue we had was communicating with the property manager/owner, who doesn't speak a word of English. However, we were able to make do with Google translate and got along just fine.

The views from the property are amazing, we stayed in the residence with a sea view and so glad we did, wow. It is only a short walk down to Atrani with plenty of steps but we welcomed the walk back up after our evening meals out. The walk up to Ravello is a little harder going especially as we had a 4 year old but we tended to catch a bus up to there from Amalfi which was very easy to do and walk back down which only took 20 to 30 minutes. The only real criticism of Villa Rosa was that we had no WiFi for the full 10 day stay but this did not worry us too much as we spent most days exploring but may have been nice to be able to use the WiFi in the evenings. All in all I would highly recommend Villa Rosa but only if you are happy to a little walking up and down steps which we had no issue with.

Beautiful property with stunning views and was in reasonably easy access (if you don't mind alot of steps) to restaurants, beach and supermarket. Owner was very friendly even with the language barrier, but we managed to understand each other. Unfortunately the weather was too cold and wet for use of the pool, but we would definately recommend the property and hopefully come back ourselves.

It is on a mountain, fresh air, beautiful scenery, easily accessible to the nearest town on the Amalfi coast

Very dangerous and narrow entrance to the villa. Steep downhill road, very narrow, not mentioned anywhere on the villa's page or the pictures

Beautiful traditional apartment with great views and lovely pool. Perfect tranquil spot to relax whilst only a short walk to the village of Atrani and a bit further to Amalfi town itself.

The apartment with large balcony had the most amazing views!! We loved the unit and if was very clean. The entire property is gorgeous however it’s not super easy to find or get too. Lots of steep winding hills even once your inside the gates to get to your room. A few things to note; you can only have 1 car - or 10 E additional per day. On this 3 BR unit that is a bit unrealistic and there were many empty spaces so i thought it was excessive. There is a community washing machine but no dryers. The gentlsn that checks you in speaks no English so that was tough and prucess slow if he doesn’t have a translator. Our flight was delayed 4 hours so were were 45 minutes late getting there and since it was after 8 we got charged 50E additional. Kind of a bummer. I asked for more towels after 2 nights - it’s 6 people and was told i had to pay for another set- that this was an apartment not a hotel. So somethings were very annoying. Overall price was reasonable vs hotels but there is nothing around it. You would want to already have your groceries. You can walk down about 300 steps to the turn of Antrini for food. You come out right at the square and beach. Mistral Pizzetia was very yummy!

Always take the bus up!!! haha, we thought we could walk up to the hotel, google maps only said 20mins, but it was stairs the whole way, lol. But! once we got there, a lovely man came and collected us from the front gate by cart, and got us checked in. Note that there is a 200 euro cash deposit at check in. BUT! once we got down to our room, WOW!!! absolutely stunning! the Suite was massive, charming, unique tiles, mountain rock side in the living room, stunning terrace and a gorgeous view of Amalfi. We even got a little bottle of limoncello to welcome us. However, note that this place did get very chilly and very damp at night. We were here in the middle of May, so it might be really nice in the hotter months. We could have used a third blanket. Note: hot water runs out quickly. This property also does have a pool and laundry facilities. The man who checked us in however, didnt speak any English, so that made asking questions a little difficult. This hotel is also one of the higher locations in Amalfi, so it takes about 10 minutes to walk down the stairs to the city, and of course keep in mind the walk back up again.

I really enjoyed staying at this property, but would say physical fitness was a necessity for this location . As with everything in this area, walking can be a workout due to the topography. It was about 560 stairs between our room & Atrani. This walk was not too difficult, and Atrani is a great town with an awesome public beach. Getting to and from the property by bus can be a bit difficult as the location is very hard to find. Additionally, the listing on VRBO does not clarify which unit you will be staying in, which can make a big difference in your experience. I would suggest booking directly through the website so you fully understand your what room views & accommodations you will be getting. (http://www.residencevillarosa.it/) Just for Reference you will pay 13E a day for A/C, if your unit even has this option, and your booking is non-refundable.

Although a nice villa complex, it was awkward to drive in and around the complex even though I had good driving skills Steep hills everywhere. Situated in a valley was very nice but, was woken up every morning around 6.30am by machinery and banging by local workman working in their work yards based in the valley. Local dogs barking most of the day and night was annoying.

200 € deposit not listed on confirmation details. Not actually located in the town of Ravello. I would recommend a car service to be arranged to pick up villa visitors to drive them to the residence as a part of standard check in service. The car service utilized once we found the residence was excellent. Difficult check in and check out.

It was a very pretty Little resort however you had to have a car and it was a very steep drive in and out you could walk down to the town of Atrauni but it was a long walk with nothing but steps down and even could hardly walk up we had to take the bus up to Revello and then take a cab back down to our Resort And the cab cost €20 it was very inconvenient if you Did not take your car everywhere The unit itself was very very difficult to find in the first place it only has a black wrought iron gate and unless you have a very good GPS you would have a very hard time finding it But it was a very pretty place and it had a great view

Its a beautiful site, but with the heat wave and all the steps reuired to get down into Atrani, it was not the most convenient. This is a self-catering residence, but some simple food stuffs could have been provided, at least until one gets orientated in the area. You can get some produce from the fruit & vegetable shop in Atrani and he will drive it up to Villa Rossa. Sundays the shops are closed, but there is a store in Amalfi.

We spent there 7 days (6 nights), our apartment (no. 5) had big terrace, where we had sun from about 11 am till 5pm. You could lie on the sunbed all day. The house was small but very cosy, clean. we did walks to Atrani (down) or Ravello (up). Overall - great place, we might go there once again in the future

Villa Rosa is made up of 9 self catering apartments built into the side of the mountain. We were in apartment 5 which had stunning views down to the small town of Atrani and the sea. The apartment was basic but spotlessly clean. We were met on arrival by the villa's agents (Paola) she was very friendly and very helpful as Mr Nicola the head gardener and the on site contact didn't speak a word of English.
If you struggle walking this is not the holiday venue for you. There are approximately 300 steps of all shapes and sizes from the apartment to Atrani, walking down takes about 10 minutes, however the walk back is much longer and more difficult. There are buses from Atrani which I'm told will stop outside Villa Rosa. Tickets must be bought from the Tobacconist in Atrani, you cannot pay on the bus. We choose to walk and by the end of the week our legs were accustomed to the walk.
If you are a light sleeper then I would advise ear plugs, the church bells ring on the hour and then every 15 minutes throughout the day and night. There are also a few local cockerels that start crowing about 4am and go on for a few hours.
