Great stay in perfect location

Modern Converted Gothic style building, friendly atmosphere and clean.

Really nice, unique building with lots of unusual features. Customer service was excellent, particularly on reception and in the restaurant (Les Archives). The only disappointments in the room were the shower (handheld and had a tendency to rotate to face the wall) and the lack of sound-proofing. The people above (or maybe the cleaner) sounded like a herd of rhino trampling around. I wouldn't recommend breakfast. €20 is excessive considering the quality. Even at 9am, long before breakfast service ended, there was only ever enough scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages to serve four people - so once those four people had helped themselves, it was another 10-15 minutes for them to be replenished. This was despite there being upwards of 30 people dining. The crêpes were cold and kept under a cloche.

As a solo traveller, I found this hotel very convenient. It was very close to the historic sites in the old city and to many restaurants and cafes.
I also loved the charm of the hotel. The old chapel in which it is situated had been restored and converted with a great deal of thought and care creating a very unique hotel.
I also found the staff very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Food was fabulous, room was very nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly on all shifts and tried very hard to be accommodating. The only issue was the weather was extremely hot and I had limited ability to control the air conditioning in my room ( the property information states you can ask to have your room temperature adjusted-which I did-but it could only be adjusted by a couple of degrees).

Good central situation with car park nearby. Staff friendly. Rooms fairly basic but clean and comfortable.

The only problem with this hotel was that the room was extremely hot and the air conditioning would not go down below 26 too hot to sleep and we were extremely tired for our day trips.
3.0
Our room was in need of new carpeting. Carpet was either very stained or dirty. Room walls need to be painted. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was nothing special.

Very good stay, although the bed was very hard and the bedsheets of poor quality (sorry I always compare to Marriott and Hilton's quality). They also forgot my wake up call at 05.30am :-(

Superb staff, lovely building, quiet but in easy walking distance to the old town. If coming by rail take a taxi as it's a steep walk up.

The service was excellent and it was in a old monastery; really unique.

Very well located. close to shopping, restaurants and many historical sites. Unusual rooms, beautifully laid out. Comfortable bed, great shower and very good reception staff.Found the restaurant overpriced with surly, standoffish waitstaff.

Check in and out was super fast and friendly. Restaurant is wonderful. Room was extremely clean and recently remodeled/decorated. Everything worked perfectly. Super silent. Walking distance from train station and downtown. My (minor) regret was that the pillows and duvet were not made of dawn but of synthetic material which doesn’t breathe well.

We loved our room, the pool and the friendly staff. The restaurant is excellent

the living space design and layout are intriguing and nice.

Felt like a bait and switch. I booked the most expensive room they had off of the room photos with the beautiful vaulted ceilings and ended up in the handicapped room with fake ceilings, dirty chipped bathroom tiles. It was also a bit noisy all night - I think I could hear people moving ini the room upstairs. Also no one offered to help with luggage and they had lost my dinner reservation despite my email confirmation. The room feels old and worn and not regal like advertised. Super disappointed for the price.

Really Convenient hotel - clean / comfortable - good breakfast - near auto route

Super nice hotel in the heart of Poitiers. Beautiful setting with a great restaurant attached. Friendly staff, easy check-in check-out. Parking close enough so it's not a hassle. Nice rooms, good bedding and amenities, good AC...

Excellent hotel. Superb service from the team

I've stayed at this hotel several times now. The location is good with a public car park just minutes away.
The hotel is located within aneasy walk to the centre.
Hotel resturant is amazing, you must try. Rooms are ok, basic but of a good size and clean.

Beautiful character property centrally located and nice rooms

Spectacular space inside an old church. Odd angles, unusual two story room, beautiful vistas, and the best restaurant in town -- this was a very cool hotel.

This is a quirky hotel - not what you would expect from a chain. The room was a slice of the upper level of a 19th-century church nave. The duplex room was comfortable, and the a/c worked fine. Shower was unusual but actually quite good. The bar/restaurant at the property is one of the best in town, but priced too high. Lots to do within walking distance. Staff very friendly. Parking was down the street at a parking garage.

The staff was exceptionally helpful when we needed to drop off luggage in advance of arrival. Every level of room is exceptional.

Beautiful building, Wifi very poor.

the "de luxe" rooms do not exist. the photos of the room do not match, we had the impression of having had a lie

Nice hotel to stay with and with very reasonable price.

Fabulous architecture blending old with modern facilities! The staff were very helpful, I didn’t want to leave ! My room was split level in the chapel , Divine !

Central but quiet location; helpful and friendly staff

We really enjoyed our stay and visit to Poitier and surrounding countryside. The only comments we have regarding the hotel is that the cardboard cups and stirrers are rather down market and dont fit comfortably with your image and that proper milk would be much better to go with tea.

Excellent position, just around the corner from the centre and all the shops.Fabulous interior architecture. We were on the top floor with wonderful views but the walls were a bit thin!!Definitely would stay again.

The hotel is well situated in a fabulous city and is a clever conversion of a 19th Century building.
However, the clever conversion has left most rooms rather cramped and, to my mind, less than comfortable.
We had to do what we have only ever once done before, and request a different room. In fairness they did then upgrade us but our initial "superior" room was anything but.

Great hotel - large comfortable room with modern bathroom & shower; good AC; quiet. Staff was very helpful. Hotel is in an old converted church or monastery. Restaurant on site (Les Archives) is also convenient and a lovely layout with good food at decent prices - but no AC working there or in the hallways of the hotel, at least during my stay.

Staff at the reception desk extremely helpful with excellent spoken English.Room well equipped with an excellent mattress on the bed.The food in the restaurant was excellent and the ambience superb, what a wonderful room to have dinner in.Secure parking some way from the hotel, as advised, but well worth the short walk and the 5 Euro charge.Breakfast slightly disappointing, but the 16 Euros each may have had something to do with my disappointment.

Hotel has a lot of character with the expected comforts of a Mercure. The rooms are fairly small but adequate for a few nights stay. Poitiers is easy to find your way around and benefits from many pedestrianised streets. Head up to the main square for several restaurants and bistros. Overall, we enjoyed our stay - ideal for a 2-3 night stopover.
