Nice ancient residence, lots of antique furniture & ambience, quiet w/comfy bed. Bathroom needed attention so shower wand fits wall & doesnt crash into the bath tub if moved & need a tub plug. Would be nice to add small lotion with bath soap to make this a more kuxurious stay. And the ancient door was VERY difficuot to lock in and out. Not good fire risk but you could knock the doo down if nec. Must make reservation for fabulous lake side dinner. Stroll down Viale Nicola Colesanti to lake side restaurants Trattoria del Moro & Il Gabbiano!! And enjoy wanderjng the medieval lane. Perfect central location.

Our stay was incredible, a unique experience, beautiful place, close to the main tourist attractions, great food nearby, and the hotel's Enoreca has excellent wines. There is a supermarket just a few steps away. It couldn't have been better. We loved it so much that we extended our stay.

A great experience to stay in a Renaissance castle, a real museum during the day. The manager has excellent communication skills, was very helpful and kind. Parking is near, the hotel will sell you daily vouchers. Plenty of restaurants nearby. A nice walk to the Lake Bolsena.
The room was fairly comfortable, very clean. Large bathroom, very clean. Highly recommended.

This property is gorgeous, my husband and I loved walking around and looking at all the art. It’s 500 years old which is x3 the age of our origin country so it blew our minds. Breakfast was classically Italian and delicious.

Unfortunately breakfast only starts 8:30, which was to late for us (had to leave at 8:00 already).
Everything else was perfect for us for a night in transit.

We arrived prior to others in our group and were told we had to wait for them to check-in (two separate reservations). We were finally able to not wait and were told they didn't want to have to go up the stairs twice. The woman at check-in was very unpleasant. The common areas of the palace and the rooms were just as expected - extraordinary! The instructions in the room remind you of what is "FORBIDDEN" while touring the property. Review the check-in policies because I believe they are stricter than other places in order to not man a desk. We are wine collectors and wanted to enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening but the rooms didn't have glasses. We thought it was lucky that there were some in the wine tasting room downstairs to only be reprimanded for entering the area. We were told twice, "don't do it again" in text and we had set off an alarm. The area is also where they had stored our wine. We would have loved to put for a tour of the place (which they offer) but felt so uncomfortable with their hostility. Our experience was a shame for the grand property. We did not encounter any other guests on the property. Also worth noting our room was significantly different than our friends (same room type).

This prppeety was very old yet very updated. It was so clean you could eat off the floors. i highly recommend this as a place to stay while in Bolsena if you are not handicapped in any way onlt because of the stairs.

A beautiful old building maintained as a hotel is a treat idea.

We had a lovely experience staying in this majestic historical residence. The rooms were decorated beautifully - with painted ceilings and lovely artwork. The decorations were of the period - making the whole experience magical for us adults, and our 10 year old. We will be visiting again.

This hotel is in an incredible building. Its like sleeping in an old castle. Love the decor and the rooms were spacious and well equipped (except for no air condition and it was really hot when we went). The bathroom was modern and clean. The location is also great, right by a nice piazza so you can find food, coffee, bars easily close by. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the lakefront, which is also gorgeous.
