Karawan Riad hospitality is wonderful! Breakfast was great. Rooms are tastefully designed. 3 new rooms are being added. No slippers and shower caps in the room. This riad is not for elderly or disabled guests.

The staff and the property were extremely nice above what we expected. Food in the hotel was delicious and the interior settings were beautiful . The staff was so nice and pleasant to interact with. They were always there for you 24 /7. We would recommend this Riad to anyone.

Stunning riad in the heart of Medina with beautiful , authentic suites with a lot of art work , wood crafts and unique details.
Spectacular view of the city from the rooftop , nicely furnished.
Very polite, attentive stuff!
Really amazing!

neighborhood is a bit sketchy at night. always locals trying to help you (for a fee) find your accommodations. otherwise, a great riad

Fantastic riad in the heart of the medina. Beautiful, and great service. Can't recommend enough.

We were at Karawan Riad to celebrate a 50th birthday. Got there after a hectic 3 days in Sahara Desert. The Riad was truly our oasis. Our daughters were both exhausted from 3 days of driving. The staff at the Riad gave them unparalleled attention and took incredibly good care of them - even making them a lentil soup and rice. From the morning breakfast to booking us a guide to making reservations for us and accommodating our million requests - they did all with a smile. They even drove my brother to the pharmacy to pick up medicines.
We took a cooking class at the Riad as well as the hamam and massages and it all made our trip special
They even baked a cake for my sisters 50th birthday and set up a nice dinner for us
The grounds are absolutely spectacular and the staff kind, considerate and caring. I have never stayed at a place and felt so royally treated. If we ever have a chance, we would go back to Karawan Riad

Beautiful property! Very friendly staff. The walls were thin but everyone seemed pretty considerate.

Wonderful Riad. Excellent service, food, rooms. Perfect location for exploring the medina

This is a beautiful Riad, with excellent service, delicious breakfast and restaurant. The rooms are big, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed and linens were of good quality. We had a great time and highly recommend this Riad.

5/5. Would highly recommend this Riad, the building is stunning and the rooms are finished to a very high standard, super comfy beds and our room had a private garden. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, even at 1am helping us with airport arrangements. Each morning we were given a brilliant local breakfast and had the choice of eating on the rooftop. The Riad is a short walk to the start of the medina but 15 minutes to the main part of the medina, this can be a little far at night but it was nice to not be in the centre of everything for the entire trip. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

This property is stunning! I can not say enough. Everything is top notch! Spa, breakfast, rooms, staff and the decor is gorgeous!!! Accustomed to luxury travel and this rated up there with luxury chains such as The Four Seasons!

This is one of the best riads I've ever stayed in. Thank you to the staff for their gracious hospitality.

Wonderful staff in a nice hotel. The room was large, clean and the hotel staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Hotel is in a good location close to everything Fes has to offer. Our only constructive feedback would be that it would be better to have a breakfast menu to avoid food waste as there was far too much for us to eat!

The place is old and run down. The wifi SUCKS and there's almost no light in the rooms. We had to use our iphone flashlights to make sure we had packed all of our belongings at check-out. The bathroom sink is so shallow we ended up splattering water everywhere every time we used it. Really dumb design. And there is NO SHOWER, only a bath with a tiny wand. And there are little steps all over the place for you to trip on. Most importantly, Karawan Riad was the only place in all of Morocco where we were made to feel unwelcome. There's just no heart in the place and no sense of hospitality or kindness. There are too many other wonderful places to stay. AVOID.

We had the most amazing stay at Karawan! The riad is stunning - with historical aspects intact, yet modern furnishings, and not to mention very clean! The staff was incredibly helpful to our every need, and the hotel is the perfect location - an oasis in the bustling Medina. Also, their restaurant is amazing with great food at every meal! We particularly enjoyed our driver, who transferred us back and forth to Marrakesh.

What a privilege to be a guest at Karawan Riad! A rare gem in the Medina Fes el Bali! Excellent service, dining, spa, design and architecture! The people at the Riad are beyond professional, courteous, kind and accommodating. I felt at home. Karawan Riad is truly a definition of a luxury small hotel and very special to my heart. An exquisite place! I cannot wait to go back! Thank you kindly for such a great hospitality!

This was the most stunning, quaint hotel to stay at in Fes!! We absolutely loved the aesthetics and cleanliness of our room, the incredible sunset view we had of the city during dinner on the rooftop, and the delicious breakfast full of various Moroccan specialties. The staff is so accommodating and warm — they treated us like family the moment we walked in. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, luxurious retreat that also offers a chance to soak in the best of the city’s food, beauty, and culture!

BEST RIAD IN FES

Honestly, one of the best hotels I've ever been to. They are super understanding and their customer service is like staying at the Four Seasons in Casablanca, superior service. I couldn't make it to my initial booking and they allowed me to change the dates and gave me a complimentary Royal suite when I came back for the day after, which I can say is beyond gorgeous. Two full bathrooms that are completely modern with RAIN SHOWERS (which I love) and many balconies overlooking the Riad and city. No words to describe. Even the upstairs master bath has a view to the whole duplex suite since it has glass walls on the second floor. Coming here was truly amazing, no other place like it.

This was a beautiful riad. Everything was lovely. Just note that there are many stairs up if you are in the city view room....totally worth the steps for amazing room and views from the roof.

Outstanding in every respect. Only thing missing is a good city map.

Very clean gorgeous hotel, traditional Morocco and modern design cross over well done. Staffs are polite and friendly. One of my best hotel, highly highly recommended.

This Riad was so beautiful (an Oasis) and the staff was so amazing! The Riad was walking distance from all of the sites of interest. We made reservations to eat at the Riad during our stay and the meal was so delicious! Very attentive staff, helping you with whatever you needed.

I liked the hotel and its facilities as well as the services and cooperation of the staff.
However, the only thing which made me disappointed is that I got deceived by the hotel manager who sold us Argan oil for MAD 1600 (1 litre) then we discovered that this oil is not the one dedicated for the skin care and its mainly used for cooking (orange color oil). Furthermore, we found that the price for the original oil intended for skin care is not exceeding MAD 400!!!

We love the location and the amusing setting. Like the attention to details. Our room was very special. We especially like the little window in the upper floor bathroom with the view and the roof top overlooking the Medina

A really fabulous Riad with amazing attention to detail, wonderful furnishings and a great feel to the place. The location is ideal - very accessible, a short walk into the heart of the Medina - and has great views etc from the rooftop terrace. Great breakfast and attentive service too. Sometimes the concierges recommendations are overly cautious with a tendency to push you towards slightly touristy (and overpriced) restaurants. We would highly recommend Cafe Fes and the Ruined Garden neither of which they seemed to know anything about! Dont let this put you off though as it really is an excellent place to stay!

We spent two nights in Fes and this Riad was fantastic in everyway. The service was great. Since this Riad has no parking on the facility we thought that the logistics of getting luggage to our room and parking in some unknown area might be a problem but we were wrong. When we arrived in Fes we called the Karawan and they told us where to drive to and someone would be there in 5 minutes to pick up our luggage and another Karawan staff person would take us to the closest parking area and walk us to the Riad. It all worked seamlessly. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The rooms and common areas looked much better live than in the pictures. The rooftop deck was beautiful. We have traveled throughout the world and have stayed in some of the finest hotels and the Karawan was a unique and great experience for us.

This Riad is breathtaking in its beauty, especially at night with the lighting and the opening to the sky. The impression is that it has been lovingly restored and renovated. Magnificent columns rise into the air and are enhanced by the recessed lighting. The library room is a work of art in itself as well as each individual room. There is an attention to detail In the architecture. The music invoked a mood of Arabia whether in the past or present. The sky terrace has a magnificent view of Fes, especially at night. For those who are physically challenged, the steps to the room and terrace may be problematic. Rooms do not have telephones which make it difficult to obtain service. (We understand that there are plans to have telephones installed). And the service is what is most lacking and disappointing in this Riad. Other than a staff member named Oteman, we felt that the staff were poorly prepared and were not trained to be gracious to guests. On our last day, we had to wait for a tardy staff to come in to provide breakfast. Service was slow. If it were not for the service, we would have rated this Riad more highly.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The accommodations were well appointed and curated. Great attention to design and details. If I were to ask for anything it would be to have a small fridge in the room to keep water cold.

A stunning hotel with every detail beautifully thought out and presented. The staff, suite, and food were all first rate and this much needed oasis (after the hectic pace of Fez) was so wonderful I didn't want to leave. Highly recommended!

This is a classically beautiful Riad with a modern feel. The level of detail and design that has gone into creating this masterpiece is truly sensational and the owners deserve huge praise for the effort they have clearly put in. The staff are lovely and will go above and beyond to help you - always with a smile - one in particular was fantastic (and I apologise - I think the name sounded like Zebbi?) - his enthusiasm was appreciated and endearing. The room is modern and was just what we needed after a number of days on the road. This Riad is a relief to come back to after a busy day at the markets. Rooftop terrace has a great view and the library has a fabulous collection of books and other items. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone. We ate at the restaurant and also had lunch prepared. The lunch was absolutely sensational - top class cuisine here.
