Awkward going to occupied room. Never notified about room change. However once reached by phone, folks were very helpful. Property was clean and well equipped. Unfortunately closeby park and river access under construction and not accessible which was disappointing

Needs updating but it is clean.

A cool place where people do seem to care about taking care of it. I would suggest they get an ice machine though.

Our family of 5 and our dog stayed here for 3 nights during the Borel Fire evacuation and felt right at home! They have the best location, right across from the Kern River and Riverside Park. There is an ice cream window a few doors down, a Shell gas station and gift shop right on the corner and it is right behind Cheryl's Diner and close to many other restaurants. The lodge was super homey feeling and comfortable. We had the upstairs suite, it was huge! Full size kitchen, 2 queen beds that were very comfy, a rollaway bed, futons and a couch in the living room, full size dining room table and counter seats as well, 2 bathrooms and the showers have amazing water pressure, huge porch on the front over looking the river, several beautiful antique furnture pieces, and so many other special touches! The manager and house keeper were friendly and welcoming but gave us our privacy and we didn't hear the guests downstairs at all. There is a cute courtyard in the back with tables and grills and even a beautiful apple tree and painted mural on the back cabin. Fast Wifi and lots of channels to watch also. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future and will recommend to all our friends and family :)

Overall a good experience.
When we walked in the front desk lady came out and said our room's 🚽 toilet is completely broken. So an hour later the gentleman came and installed a brand new one. The kitchen sink also has issues but fixed also. So many flies mosquitos and bugs, they actually had small a bug swaper on the frig. The beds sheets were very clean. Had a Full kitchen so we cooked our own dinner.
The outside of the building does not look at that but the inside was great.
Great location since the kern river is right across the street.

Nice location w/ good price. Across the street from the park/ river. Very clean. Décor is quaint; but, the cabinetry in the bedroom appears to be real wood (something rare in modern hotels). The proprietors, while not on site when I checked in after 5:00pm, seemed to be accessible when going through Expedia.

Wierd from the start, no front desk, has lit office sign but no one there when i knocked on door. Called the number on sign, woman answered with a different business name, i said I'm trying to check in to... she asked.my
name and then told me my room number and gives me code for lock, i got in and she says "have a good night" click... this place is run down and in disrepair. Fridge handle broken freezer handle missing with screws sticking out. Went to close curtains and the rod only had the center bracket holding it up left bracket missing and right bracket not screwed in. The flat screen didn't fit on stand so was leaning against curtain/ window and the wall, could have fallen easily. Small bathroom, tiny shower,(smaller than my 21' travel trailer shower) towel rack missing with old brackets still there. The towels were hanging on rack next to toilet where if you reached around from shower the toilet paper roll would get wet. Had a 3 dispenser unit in shower and was completely out of soap, had 1/4 shampoo and 3/4 conditioner. Easy to see soap was empty. Several dark hairs on wall next to bath window. I can't believe this place had a good rating and the reviews were mostly good. Did have a good location with view of river. Furnishings are 30/40 years old and the layout was difficult to get through room. Had to move bar stools to be able to walk from front door to bed and bath, wierd closet thing separating bed from tv couch bed area. Couch very uncomfortable, bed was ok.

Rooms were quaint in an old cabin style. Very clean.
We were on the bottom floor. The guests above us with a dog were very noisy late into the night. It sounded like the furniture was being moved and so forth. The first night without guest above us was peaceful.

Cute little cottage right across from the river! We truly enjoyed our stay. Cottage comfortably slept our family of 4, & had a great setup. Thank you to Shelby & Deborah! Great service & hospitality!

Location of this place couldn't be better. It's right on the river where you want to be. Walkable to all spots in town.

Great location, great view of the river. Stayed in cottage # 1 & 3. #1 is large, comfortable, & great view of the river. Staff were very accomodating.

Nice suite. The property was clean but the overall condition of the amenities and the rooms was only “fair.” The beds were not all that comfortable. That said, the place was extremely convenient to downtown Kernville and we were able to walk around to do almost everything.

The cabin was beautiful and clean, there were 5 people total only one was able to take a hot shower. Contacted someone there and they said they were sending someone, no one showed up and we were required to leave at 12. I

The hostess Shelby was extremely accommodating and friendly. We were able to get a late check out.
We had a wood fire in the fireplace in our room.
Everything was extremely clean.
Love that there was a kitchen. Small apartment feel.
We sat on the front porch enjoying the shade and cool breeze for hours.
Beautiful view of the river.
Outside tables and BBQ’s available for guests.
There’s a private parking lot for guests.

We stayed here overnight while our lake house is being refurbished. We loved it and will be back! It’s a huge space, with river views from most rooms and a long patio that also has a direct view of the river. There were connectivity issues with both bedroom TVs, so hopefully that will be repaired, but there was a family room TV with satellite as an emergency backup. Host was super nice and helpful. Can’t wait to return!

The Kern Riverfront Lodge is wonderfully located next to a beautiful river spot and within walking distance of all the communal activities one might take interest in: a coffee shop, antique shops, the brewery, and a well-stocked market. The Enchanted Cottage was an especially cozy and comfortable experience for me. I love having a kitchen available while I'm away. The staff was a delight to communicate with prior to the visit, during, and after. I felt welcomed and cared for, which is precious when you're somewhere new!

So cute with the river across the street. Outside had all sorts of bbq and hang out chairs!

I booked it and was not sure what to expect and boy what a surprise. Great location by the river and the heart of the town. It was a clean and well taken care of cottage. This will be on my favorites list for Hotels.com.

This place is so great. Reception was warm and communicative. The unit is huge (it made me wish we have the whole family with us). Great location too! The weather was incredibly hot so the ac unit had a hard time keeping up but will absolutely recommend to everyone and surely return with tubs for the river.

Easy check-in and check-out. Room was perfect for what we needed.

The room was very cozy. It was warm and comfortable. Beds were clean and comfortable. Super cute kitchen. It is right across the street from the river. At night if you open the windows you can hear the river and frogs. Can't wait to stay there again.

We had a great time. The location is in walking distance of everything. Super spacious, clean and comfortable. I felt right at home. Only a couple of things. there is no dressers in the bedrooms. However lots of closet and cabinet space for clothes if having an extended stay. Main bathroom also can use some TLC
