Far from the crowded flea bag hotels, this property is pristine and right in the heart of the Masai Mara. You will not find a place more suited to your dream safari than Ashnil. Get the game drive package, you will not regret it.

The hotel was very good , and staff were excellent , although food choice and quality was very average , for this level of hotel

Outstanding staff, clean property in a great location!

Ashnil has great facilities, delicious food, and VERY comfy accommodations. Their staff is very attentive and take great care of you. One of the aspects that I feel are especially important is the location of the camp. It is situated on the banks of the Mara River and right in the middle of the Masai Mara Reserve. Some of the other "camps" are located closer to the entrances and therefore a longer drive to be in the heart of game drive country is necessary. This is my second time to stay here. I highly recommend it.

Really nice luxury tent-accommodation. Amazing food, wide variety of vegetarian items, friendly and attentive staff and great location overlooking the river

This is an excellent base of operations for Masai Mara game drives. The camp is situated on the banks of the Mara River with a view of wildlife and hippos. The food, served buffet style is great, with vegetarian alternatives a la Indian. The staff is embarrassingly overly helpful. I felt I was being followed and watched for my entire stay as every staff seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to offer to help me at every step. The environment is further controlling as you have to mind the meal times and you may only sit at your own appointed table at every meal...no switching to sit with friends of just for variety. This may be due to the fact that there were over 100 guests, some with children, whose needs must all be met. Promises of internet access were false as the staff and management do not know how to simply reboot a router. This I did myself and was able to exchange email with home and work. The rooms are developed tents with plenty of space, deck overlooking the wilderness, and plenty of hot water and electricity at the appointed times. Showers were great. The managements first orientation talk and rules list should, however, warn that the water is not potable and you are given only one small bottle of drinking water per day.

Staff is good but setting, accomodation and food is average

Went for a 50th birthday as they had never been on a safari before. Could not fault anything. Seen many, many animals except a Leopard or Rhino. However there was a Rhino at the airstrip which finished the trip off nicely.

From the moment we checked in, until the moment we left, all the staff were first class. Outstanding service, location, cleanliness of the rooms and camp.

I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The staff were so friendly, accommodating and wonderful! Not only were we there on our honeymoon, but we also had a group of 10 in our party.
Ashnil Mara Tented Camp is one of the best places we were at during our trip to Kenya.
I cannot say enough good things about this place.
The staff are amazing, the food is wonderful, the rooms are fantastic, the wildlife is great, the location is stunning!
