we did not stay here, as we could not find the place. we called the manager and canceled our stay and he confirmed he would let hotels.com know to refund us. i also called hotels.com twice to get a refund and no return follow up.

We only stayed one night but wish we stayed longer. La Villa de Soledad is a beautiful mansion in the traditional Spanish style with an open courtyard. The room was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable.
John and Soledad were kind and accommodating hosts. We had an incredible dinner there cooked by Soledad - maybe the best during our trip to Honduras.
The short walk down to the river is really nice and it honestly beats having a pool.

This is one of the best hotel/B&B experiences I’ve ever had and one of my favorite lodgings to date. If you’re going to Pico Bonito National Park, this is hands down the best place to stay. The owners were so kind and helpful, and the property was gorgeous. I also really enjoyed the food and conversation. If I’m ever back in the area, this is the only place I’ll stay!

I little peace of heaven on planet earth. We will be back again. From the amazing warm welcome and the breathtaking views. And the food is out of this world. Felt like a home away from home. Thank you for everything Johnny and Jessica!

If you’re looking to truly relax in nature, this is the place! The property grounds are surrounded by lush gardens and the sounds of nature all around you is just a calming vibe! There’s a river just steps from the property that you can go for a swim and it’s super refreshing! The owners John and Soledad are very nice and they will help you if you need to book any tours you’re interested in. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this place for anyone looking to get in touch with nature!

This is a wonderful B&B operated by a friendly and helpful couple, located in a scenic valley overlooking the Cangrejal River. The rooms are clean and comfortable and quiet. A wonderful breakfast, cooked by Soledad, is included, and one can opt to eat supper there too, home-cooked by Soledad and delicious. John is a fount of knowledge about the area, the country , and Central America in general, and can help to set up side trips such as white water rafting, hot springs massages, and tours. A wonderful place to escape to and to renew!

La Villa de Soledad B&B does not disappoint! Everything said about John's knowledge and Soledad's cooking are absolutely true. They're both extremely welcoming, saying "our house is your house". They meant it and what a remarkable house it is. My girlfriend and I made sure to stay more than 1 night and were extremely glad we did.
I wasn't feeling great upon arrival. No problem, John graciously gave us a bottle of Pepto Bismol. We wanted a guide to take us through the jungle. No problem, John knows everyone in the area and had a private guide at the Villa the next morning. We wanted to go white water rafting another morning. Again, no problem! John made a call and got us all set up for the adventure.
We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Like everyone else, we strongly recommend La Villa de Soledad B&B!

An amazing place, beautiful, open home, with amazing views, lush, mountain surroundings, and incredibly friendly owners staff. This is so much better than staying in a hotel in La Ceiba. The national park is just a 5 minute walk away, with incredible hiking and many recreational options nearby. You and/or your family will love this place.

We drove 3 hours to the hotel and were turned away by the Honduran military in the mountains on the way to the hotel, about 3ish miles from the hotel. I immediately turned around and drove to the closest place that I could get cell service. I attempted to contact the hotel immediately, but there was no phone number listed on Hotels.com. I contacted Hotels.com and they advised me they could do nothing and to contact the hotel and gave me the phone number. I contacted the number via What's App, and several hours later, the hotel contacted me and said they could not refund me because they already charged me and my room was ready. I am a frequent traveler to Honduras and have never encountered this. The right thing to do would be to refund us because we were not able not reach the hotel, due to the military. We were forced to book another hotel because it was so late in the day and cold not drive three hours back due to curfew in the country.

I traveled with a friend here back in January 2020. The villa was beautiful, and it was a true escape. John and his wife Soledad were amicable and catered to our every need. They offered to go in town to get anything we needed and educated us on the area. One night it rained so hard, and the noise hitting the villas roof was peaceful. It was so relaxing to not have any distractions and be able to truly enjoy Mother Nature. The scenery was beautiful and the vicinity was well kept and clean. My favorite part was Soledads cooking!!! It was nice to smell the cooking through the open wooded cabin style feel blinds. The food was tasty and delicious. The resort was also extremely affordable!

We recently spent three nights at this beautiful Posada Rural- truly a special place to stay. The surroundings were quite stunning and like nothing we have experienced in the States.
The Inn is about 10 kilometers up a tropical mountain surrounded by amazing trees, foliage and flowers. We saw toucans, hummingbirds, stunning butterflies and the resident agouti.
The host, Soledad made sure our room was beautifully presented with a stunning show of flowers cut from her garden. Upon arrival we were offered a deliciously refreshing glass of fresh squeezed lemonade.
The food was delicious and made fresh daily. We loved the included breakfast of fresh fruit, coffee and eggs cooked to order. We opted to eat dinner there two nights and both meals were expertly cooked and reasonably priced.
The hosts, John and Soledad were available for us whatever we needed with recommendations and information about the area. John can arrange any tour that you would like, or you can opt to hang out and simply enjoy the beauty of the Inn and its gardens. The river is a short walk down the hill and we loved the morning we spent there. The views are stunning and the water cool and relaxing.
If you are in this area, I highly recommend that you visit this beautiful Inn on the mountain.

What is there not to like. This B&B is lush, hip, relaxing, beautiful, comfy, spacious and so much more. The proprietors could not be nicer. The food was outstanding. The rooms are well appointed. This place just feels like you are living in your own home. except it's in a lush jungle near a beautiful, picturesque river.

What a beautiful peaceful BB! Beautiful landscaping and wonderful hosts. This is up in the mountain next to the river. We were treated with a tasty drink. They don’t have a restaurant but guided us to where we could go which is a nice 20min walk up the road. You might get lucky and get Nina (the dog) as a guide. Breakfast was amazing. Good plate of fruit, tasty beans with eggs and toast. Fresh juice! We were always offered a ride up the road which was very generous. We wish we would’ve booked two nights. No Tv in the room and no AC. The room has beautiful doors and windows that let the night breeze cool you off. We slept great and the TV was not missed. Highly recommend this BB!

La Villa for soledad was an amazing place to stay. Soledad was an amazing host and her family is very welcoming and helpful. The food was fantastic, the rooms are large and the beds comfy. The property is gorgeous and perfectly situated in the jungle close by the river gangrel and Omega tours. My wife and I would love to stay there again in the future!

First off John the owner met me at the airport with a smile and warm reception. Probably 25 minutes to the beautiful place. The pictures don’t really do it justice. The house is immaculate and magnificent. Breakfast fit for a king. They even fixed me lunch one day after a hike in the park. John set me up with several tours and was very helpful navigating the week. I plan on coming back with friends in several months.

I have visited most hotels and bed and breakfast in this area. I usually make at least two trips to La Ceiba for ten years. La Villa de Soledad B&B is by far the best experience I have had. Everything from the awesome owners to their pet dogs are are exceptional in every way. My family stayed three days and wanted to stay longer . All the good reviews I have read about this paradise are on point and true. La Villa de Soledad will be my home away from home during my visits to La Ceiba. Travel can be challenging in Honduras for people that are not familiar with schedules of buses, air, and ferry service to the islands. Do not let this keep from visiting . John and his wife the owners are experts and are happy to help. If your into the eco travel there is no better place than this place. Near by are trails ,horse back riding, kayaking, swimming, ziplines, whitewater rafting, the area is safe and peaceful.
