Our room was on the second floor looking down on the street. There was a rave club across the street that played VERY loud music until 4 or 5 in the morning. It was impossible to get any sleep because of the noise. The staff’s reply: “you know you’re staying in a busy urban area”, as if that was a reason for not being able to sleep in a hotel.
The first thing the following morning we requested a new room, and per our conversation with desk staff, we repacked our bags so they could move them in the event they changed our room. The staff “made a note” in our file that we were seeking a room change.
When we returned that evening, nothing had been done to get us a new room. The desk agent looked for alternatives, but very clearly told us that a move would not be made to an “upgraded” room, instead offering us a downgrade to a room with 2 twin beds. He had a serious case of indifference…take it or leave it. We elected to make the move because the new room was far enough away from the street to be much quieter.
The facility itself was nice. Our schedule did not allow for us to use any amenities other than the rooms (although we did purchase some coffee and snacks from the food area).
Because of the unacceptable noise levels, and the indifference of the staff, I would advise others to find an alternative place to stay while in Reykjavik.

nice location

The staff at reception area were courteous and knowledgeable. The breakfast area is good and staff are friendly. But the main problem is the noise in the area. Cannot sleep even if you are so tired. Theirs is no parking lot in the hotel and you need to pay almost $30 for overnight parking structure across the street. Very inconvenient.

great little hotel but the noise did not let us sleep plus we had to close windows making the room quite warm

Despite asking for a quiet room, our room was directly across the street from a nightclub. It seems that the better rooms are given to clients who do not book through Expedia.

Staff was exceptional. The location is walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. The staff did a great of recommending things to go see.

This is a great location for being in the heart of downtown Reykjavík.
It is within walking distance to just about anything you might want to do.
The hotel itself is very modern and nice.
The staff was outstanding.
I will definitely stay here again.

We booked a king room and got two twins. Could not correct as hotel was fully booked. Great location and friendly staff

Great location just steps from main roads with options for dining and shopping. Also conveniently located in close proximity to a bus stop for easy transportation to and from the hotel (eg. from airport, excursions, etc,). Staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a great one.

The hotel was beautiful and in a perfect location. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. We had a wonderful vacation in Iceland.

Second time staying at the property and it’s fabulous. A great location, and I will definitely be back.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel design was visually exciting. For example the room and bathroom had a colorful, modern, yet natural feel (wood, stone metal) with color variation that was quite pleasing.
Breakfast was a very good buffet line. Nothing individually cooked, but numerous choices of the details of breakfast. We enjoyed it very much.

Could not get a normal check in, had to wait a lot.

Make sure you don't get a room facing the interior as the bar/restaurant is constantly moving trash or employees are talking, yelling laughing which is very loud in the room.

Everything was walking distance and the bar and restaurant staff and food were perfect

The hotel was super clean, and the staff was great. Convenient hotel restaurant had great food as well. The parking garage was directly across the street for easy access to the vehicle.

Great location and wonderful rooms. This was very walkable to everything we wanted to see. There is municipal parking (in a large across the street) that is so convenient. The hotel has many places to lounge as well.

Nice hotel, we will come back to choose!

Your software team did a great disservice to your staff by allowing their system to not function for several hours at a time. This made it very difficult for them to do the great job they had done at every other instance.

My whole family enjoyed our stay at Canopy. It’s a beautifully designed facility with a calm and intimate atmosphere. The rooms are very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fabulous! We are impressed with their attention to details and every corner we turned there was a cozy couch and some books to hang and chill with. The location also cannot be beat as it’s 5 minutes walk from bus stop #6 and walking distant to the church and shopping area. The whole town is walking distance really. Overall we really loved the hotel and will definitely go back if we visit Reykjavik again!

The hotel’s location was perfect. The room (331) however was disappointing due to the loud noises from both upstairs and downstairs.

We have visited this hotel on a number of occasions but each time our visits gets worse. This time we were not greeted in a friendly manner and were told that we would not get any upgrades, options or any member benefits as we booked with Expedia.
The staff were not interested or concerned. The so called bar is hardly open and the Hotel started renovating the floors part way through our stay. Expedia should have notified its customers that there was some refurbishment going on. We found the our room near, one of the bars which was noisy throughout our stay during the weekend.
It is a real shame that the Hotel Management & Staff have let this place go down hill as its a ideal location and a really nice hotel.
Really disappointed with Hilton Hotel Canopy & Expedia especially when the hotels are not offering or passing on any rewards or points to its customers.

Modern and clean hotel, great location close to shopping area and restaurants, great personnel and service.
The room was on the street side though, with very poor soundproofing. We could hear traffic (buses, drunk youngsters roaring their engines) and music from the club behind until late hours. Also the curtains barely covers the window from streetlights.
The room was too hot even with the radiator shut down.

Overall great hotel, close to many dining/shopping options as well as bus stop for tours/transfers.

In general excellent from location and service point of view.
We stayed in a junior suite - generally on the small side and first time I see no toiletries in a good hotel.

Never got there due to a family member being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after we booked. Absolutely no flexibility with getting a credit so all money was lost.
