I had a late checkin due to flight limitations. Aurora hotel had a fresh salad, sandwich and dessert waiting for me 😮. Facilities are exceptional and a mile to downtown Ivalo. Tasteful decor, grounds are well maintained and keeping with the beauty of the land all blend well.

stayed two summer nights, and it seems like the focus was winther guest - so the service was at a minimum in this fine summer. Its new fine hotel and I think it shines more in winther than summer - no TV - fridge ans nice coffemachine

The Aurora Village is 10/5 stars! While a smaller resort (about 28 cabins), there is nothing lacking all but instead adds to the experience. The staff easily remember who you are and treat you like friends versus some guest...whether reception, guides, or the restaurant. I'd like to give special praise to Elena & Annamarija who helped me book everything months in advance. Also two guides: Ruta & Niek - for snowmobiling, snow shoe hiking and cross country skiing. The owner took a group of us on a scheduled night snowmobile trip and he's terrific person from that experience. The cabins were cozy, clean, and warm. The restaurant food was terrific (I'm kind of a picky eater too). The Aurora Village was the best!!!

EVERYTHING was just absolutely beautiful! The property, the rooms, the food, the staff! Not a single complaint!! I only stayed for 3 days but could’ve stayed for a month in such a lovely place

We loved that the restaurant catered to our dietary requirements. Very friendly staff too.

Amazing two nights. Relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Used both of the saunas and they were great. The food was absolutely delicious. Did not see any northern lights due to cloud cover but other than that our stay was perfect. If I had to think of one tiny little negative thing it would be the breakfast. It was still in the top 10 of hotel breakfasts but I have had better. And the cabins need a rug in front of the door or something to clean the snow off your shoes because the area really gets wet.

We stayed in lodge 9, ”Issak”. Everything worked, but the layout and equipment in our lodge were clearly a Monday or practise samples compared to our friends’ lodge (nr. 28).
Our accommodation missed curtains to cover the windows and we didn’t have an active AC/heater. Also the bathroom didn’t have a proper mirror, which was a clear design flaw. All of the above had been corrected in our friends’ lodge on the other side of the reindeer enclosure.
Other than that, the staff were extremely nice. Activities were great. Food was exceptional. Breakfast and dinners left little to hope for. One of us is vegan and we simply could not have hoped for better attention to their diet.
Aurora Village is compact and beautiful. Everything inside the hotel’s premises is within walking distance. One can park the car right in front of the lodge.

As it happened, i reserved a stay for a few nights here by accident, thinking it would be in Inari when it was in Ivalo ツ
We stayed here during late summer, so the kitchen was closed during our first night and open the second as there was a surprise visit from a busload of visitors. I'll tell you that the dinner and breakfast were awesome.
It was a delightful stay. The huts are perfect for two, though you could easily fit in a third on the couch-bed. They're clean and comfortable and the giant sky view window is nice to gaze through (also, there are drapes to shut out the light if you too visit during the bright summer nights). The personnel is among the friendliest i've accounted in Finland.
During winter months, we really hope to return, both for the seriously nifty panorama sauna and the aurora borealis.

The entire property is unique; from its cabins with heated glass ceilings to view the Auroras to providing all the heavy outer wear you will need to stay warm.
Breakfast and dinner provided plus there are multiple excursions to choose from.
I highly recommend Wellu as your guide on your excursions. He’s friendly knowledgeable, patient and caring. You will get beautiful pics and experience all wrapped in one.

The resort was very nice. They provided free snowshoeing and cross country skiing equipment. You can also see reindeers on the frozen lake. It was also nice to just take a walk in the nearby forest. The buffet dinner and breakfast are both amazing, especially the beef and the salmon were prepared just right. We also enjoyed sitting by the fireplace at the cafeteria. ( They also served really nice pasta with reindeer meat).
They have 2 really nice saunas to choose from. They provided gloves and socks so you don't slip and hurt yourself when you run into the very cold pool on the river. However, the socks were shared so when we used the sauna at 9, we had to wear the wet socks that others had worn earlier that day. And there were only a pair so my husband and I had to take turns putting them on and taking them off to use the pool. For the price of the igloo, I think clean(or at least dry) socks are not too much to ask for.
The room was really beautiful and they had free drinks and snacks. The reception told us that we should take fast showers because the water tanks in the igloos are not very big. So we made sure to finish our showers within 15 minutes. The overall experience was nice. I would definitely love to visit the resort again for snow activities but probably won't stay there for the night.

I stayed here for one night solo. It was an amazing experience. I arrived right at check in so I had time to snowshoe the grounds before dinner. The next morning they have me a late check out so I did the sauna and snowshoed some more. Beautiful and tranquil place. Everyone was so friendly.

Thank you

Fantastic accommodation but slightly let down by quality of buffet food

Wonderful location, the huts were very private and there was little light pollution. The staff was very personable and there was a beautiful sauna and hot tub with a view on the property. The provided snowshoes were also great for trekking around the property. It was far better than other aurora huts we stayed in, in Saariselka.

The stay was amazing! The hotel was very new, the owner and the staffs were all extremely friendly. The food was great! The provide free pickup and drop off service from the airport. The other guests who stayed there were also extremely nice, so I made a few new friends!
My flight was at 6pm so they let me stayed as late as I wanted to until I took off to the airport. Highly recommend it and will definitely go back.

Food average.location good.front desk is ok but not too friendly.asked for 28euro for taxi to busstation but though they booked it we paid 15euro to driver directly

The individual cabins are luxurious in their comfort level - heated floors and windows, snow shoes provided for walking around the hotel outside, and even a small reindeer park where you can feed the animals by hand. Although you can very comfortably watch the northern lights from the bed, you have to get lucky with the weather (cloud cover prevented us from seeing it during our stay). The breakfast and dinner provided in the common area is also very good (alcohol charge extra).

Property was amazing, room was amazing, staff was great, excursions were great, food was good. Northern lights were amazing (saw them 1 out of 2 nights)

Wonderful small village. Great food. Great room & facilities. Couple of minor things for improvement Only 1 arm chair in the room ( understanding space is limited). Our late night arrival and key did not work upon getting to our cabin having to walk back to the reception 2nd time( not far just cold) receptiin were closed, thankfully a staff member in the restaurant assisted with her key. Young girl who checked us in didn’t advise closing time ( later sighted small sign at front door) great guide Vialu who gave some great information and photos of his.

A great resort in a winter wonderland

My wife and I went to Aurora Village for 3 nights. The village contains glass cabins to facilitate occupants to see northern lights inside the cabin. The cabin is cozy and well maintained. The separate sauna cabin is new and is supposed to let occupants see the sceneries and also may be the northern lights. However, for all cabins, even a very tiny light such as a router indicator can get reflections on the glasses and so view is distracted. The weather during my stay was quite cloudy and foggy, but we are fortunate to see northern lights once, outside our cabin though. The crew team is very friendly and helpful. The chef is exceptional making delicious dinner everyday. If one wants to explore local areas, probably it would be better to hire your own car.

I don't usually leave reviews but this place is stunning.
The cabins are very cosy and have everything you need in them.. coffee machine, clean towels, hairdryer, comfy beds etc and the views from the glass roof is just amazing. We were lucky enough to see the northern lights on our first night. We also pre booked husky safari and snow mobile safari. Both were such good fun and organised so well. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We had breakfast and dinner in the resturant which were both really nice, the resturant area is lovely and cosy, with gorgeous snowy views.
We decided to get taxi's to and from the airport, there were plenty of taxi's waiting at the airport and they only charged 30e each way rather than the 80e the hotel charge.
Overall this place is amazing, one of the prettiest places i have ever visited. I would definately recommend it.

They have the Aurora alert service which was wonderful. Managed to see the Aurora every night. The only issue is that the trees blocked out an otherwise perfect Aurora viewing experience.

We saw the best display of the northern lights on our first night! It went on for hours.
The staff are so helpful and polite.
We got to feed the reindeer too.
Such a magical place.
