Perched atop a breathtaking hill, gazing over the Orchardleigh estate and Vallis Vale valley, this locale beckons as the ultimate retreat. Its stunning vantage point offers sprawling vistas, inviting serene walks along the river Frome, through fields and woodlands. Embrace days immersed in nature's charm and outdoor exploration. Within a leisurely 12-minute stroll lies the dynamic town of Frome, replete with creative vigor and essential amenities.
The barn itself is a haven of comfort and space, a serene cocoon to unwind within. As a delightful touch, a breakfast basket awaits to pamper your mornings.
Set amidst the scenic backdrop of Frome, this barn spans an impressive 800 square feet, providing a spacious contrast to the area's cozy cottages. The single-story layout, seamlessly connected, encompasses a kitchen area with a slight elevation (please note that this means it is technically not on one level for those with wheelchair requirements) , while bedrooms extend from the central living room. The master bedroom boasts an ensuite, ensuring added privacy, while the second bedroom is accompanied by a shower room and lavatory accessible from the main living space.
Within the confines of this abode, the kitchen/diner unveils itself as a generously proportioned haven, inviting moments of relaxation over steaming cups of coffee, solitary reads among the pages of a book, and culinary adventures guided by the pages of our esteemed resident cookbook authored by Deliciously Ella. Every facet of modern convenience is embodied in this space, as it proudly showcases an array of pristine, brand-new appliances, facilitating a seamless culinary experience.
Sleep comes with a touch of opulence in the Master Bedroom, where a king-size bed measuring 150cm wide, adorned with a plush mattress topper and down pillows, invites you to unwind and embrace the cozy charm of this countryside hideaway.
The second bedroom is versatile, accommodating either the young or young-at-heart. With two single beds, each measuring 90cm wide, complete with feather duvets and pillows, it’s a haven for both children and sharers alike. For those seeking a more expansive sleeping arrangement, these beds can be conveniently combined to form a super king bed spanning 180cm wide—a testament to the thoughtful design of Moss Barn.
The barn stands as a hub of entertainment, thoughtfully furnished with an array of amenities to delight guests. A Marshall Acton II Speaker promises to envelop the space in rich sound. An Amazon Firestick stands ready for cozy evenings, offering access to streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, NOW TV, and Disney+, ensuring a plethora of viewing options. For those inclined towards traditional recreation, an assortment of board games awaits, accompanied by a well-stocked whisky station, catering to refined tastes.
Notably, the barn caters to guests of all ages with a dedicated kid's area, ingeniously designed to captivate your little ones. Grapat & Grimms open-ended toys form the centerpiece of this space, accommodating a diverse range of ages and buying you that much needed time to yourself.
The outdoor realm beckons with a garden space, thoughtfully furnished with a table and chairs for al fresco dining, allowing guests to relish meals while soaking in scenic vistas. To facilitate moments of relaxation and contemplation, loungers and a fire pit provide a tranquil retreat. Adding to the culinary delights, a new gas BBQ and a Pizza Oven have been thoughtfully installed, enhancing the outdoor culinary experience.

Other things to note
Please note that the barn form part of a larger complex of buildings, including three neighbours and ourselves, the hosts, who are 50 yards away. The barn is not visible from the road when you enter, you have to come up the drive of the main house. Additionally, you can see and hear the road from the garden, its usually pretty quiet but 8am/5pm can be more noticeable.
The garden is now enclosed for doggies, with the lowest height about 3ft (with next door neighbor) and the back wall and fence (adjacent with the farmer's field) higher at about 4.5ft high. Please also note that Fern barn and Moss barn have gardens side by side, albeit with screening for privacy.

The cottage is very well equipped with everything you’d need to enjoy your stay. We came with our toddler who enjoyed the toy area and Jo and Gemma made sure a high chair was available. Although we’d said we didn’t need a cot (which also could’ve been made available) they told us where we could find additional cot bedding just in case we needed it. The cottage was extremely clean and very inviting. We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend there and our toddler loved running free in the (very safe and well contained) garden with some beautiful countryside views. Jo and Gemma were really prompt in responding to our questions and checked in with us whilst we were that cottage to make sure everything was running smoothly. We really got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. They’re clearly invested in making sure guests enjoy their stay and we definitely did. Thank you!
