Great proximity and access to beach. Very private. Furniture was old and some was dirty. Linens were barely acceptably. Kitchen was not very well organized and had most stuff, but could do better. Gave the communication with property owner a low score because I was getting weird text messages from different people and it was hard to know if the messages were fraudulent or not. I do not think the owners have a personal hand on what is going on at the house. It’s run by vacasa and there is no oversight and no personal attention from the owner. We were debating on whether or not to bring our dog and I could not find a number to call to ask the questions or change the reservation. This experience was a lesson to me that moving forward, when I rent from Vrbo, I will make sure the property has the owner information and contact.

Great alternative close to the beach but not on it. Easiest Plantation access to rest of the Island.

I will start this review by saying I have never left a bad review or complained about a vacation house ever in my life. But, I guess there is a first time for everything! When we arrived at the house it smelled absolutely awful. As it turned out the top floor AC was out. The whole top floor was unusable on the first night. It reeked of wet dog, mildew, mold, and old carpet. The property management company sent someone out the next afternoon to fix the AC so the smell got somewhat bette, but definitely not great. When you’re paying a couple thousand dollars for a few nights, you expect more. The carpet in the house (on the stairs) is super yucky and the couch is probably 20 years old and also gross. On our date of checkout my 8 year old daughter sliced the back of her heel off on a stair that was not properly maintained and had a chip out of it. When I expressed these concerns (and showed pictures) to Vacasa—they gave me the runaround for literally months. I was never able to speak to someone at the local agency! After months of me reaching out to no avail, they sent me an email stating that the local management company said my daughters heel “looked like she had a blister” and they didn’t find a problem with the stair. Mind you, I could have told them exactly where it occurred had they EVER called me. So, basically they called me a liar and we paid full price for a home we couldn’t utilize all of for our stay. I would never a Vacasa property again. They are trash.

We loved the home and the pool. AC was cold and the house had lots of room for our family to spread out (7adults + 5kids). The french door on the top floor was a little tough to close and because of that did not latch one night. Caused lots of little flying insects to come in and explore the top room. So just be sure to check that you slam that door if you go in/out of the top deck. Also, the couch bed on the main floor (with kitchen) was broken. A kid was able to still use it, but don't count on it for an adult. I think it would crash to the floor if an adult tried to use it. Couch was still great, so totally fine to sit on, just don't count it as a bed for an adult to use if you are pre-planning and allocating beds. All in all we were very happy with this property. It is priced on par with the homes value. Yes it is a bit older, but you can tell the home owner takes great care of it. And the pool was a hit with our kids. We loved it and are very thankful they allowed us to share their home for a weekend. It will be a Mothers day weekend memory we cherish for a long time. Elevator also came in CLUTCH. Big coolers stuffed with food and drinks are heavy to carry up multiple stairs and the elevator saved us. We also loved the mini-fridge on the second floor for drinks at night for those staying on that floor.

We’ve stayed in this property whilst under a different management company, the Towering Dunes has become incredibly outdated. It looked as though no one had been in the property for some time and it hadn’t been prepared for guests. Ups on arrival, our key code didn’t work. Beds were without linens, damp rid bags were full and bulging and we were greeted with a cockroach in the master bedroom. Heated pool?! Forget about it, the pool heater on this property hasn’t been functional in years, however, they advertise a ‘heated pool’ amenity. Living room furniture is outdated and broken down, mattresses are in dire need of replacement. Getting ‘local’ assistance was impossible, everything is dispatched to the ‘local team’. Would not recommend this property in current condition, with current management.

Our family of 8 adults and 4 children (ages 11 to 4) gathered here for a long weekend. The house was large enough to accommodate all of us pretty comfortably. I recommend it for large families. The pool was great for the children. The beach is a 2-block walk.

We enjoyed our stay at Towering Dunes. The house is well laid out for multiple guests and is in easy walking distance from the beach and the pickleball courts. It is also near the Plantation gate, making it easy to get to the center of SGI. The house needs a few repairs, although nothing we couldn`t work around. The main level exterior doors are difficult to open and close, and the exterior windows desperately need cleaning. We valued the gear (bikes, umbrella, and beach chairs) available through the VayKGear program. We would stay here again if we need a house this large. This review was submitted while the home was managed by a different property management company.
