About this apartment rental
This beautifully unique space is the (completely private) upper floor of a very grand old building right in the vibrant heart of Eureka Springs. Originally opened in 1885 as Harp’s Grocery, the building has long been a fixture in the coolest, most distinctive historic town in the Ozarks. Now updated with modern amenities, you’ll find it to be an absolute haven where your crew can relax and have a blast together. World class dining, galleries, shopping and more are all within easy walking distance; it’s just a block or two to many of the very best attractions of Eureka Springs.
Bedroom one has a queen size bed, a large flatscreen TV with an expansive cable package, and a gorgeous private balcony overlooking Main Street, a truly magical spot to simply sit and chill in the evening when the twinkle lights come on.
Bedroom two has a full size bed with a large flatscreen TV with DVD player and a super rad Nintendo gaming system that plays the original Nintendo NES games as well as Super Nintendo games. We have an awesome selection of vintage games here where you can geek out and get your nostalgia fix. Original Nintendo games include: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 3, Paperboy 2, and Kirby’s Adventure. Super Nintendo games include: Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda. Each game has its own labeled spot on the shelf - please return them to their places when you check out!
The bathroom is a stunning space with a deep soaking tub/shower combo under a windowed cupola. There’s also a washer and dryer here for your convenience.
In the kitchen you’ll find a full complement of standard appliances and accessories, including a full size fridge, a coffee maker, a gas range/oven, a toaster oven, a microwave, plenty of plates/bowls/utensils/flatware, and a bar with two barstools. The dining area looks down over Leatherwood Creek, a tributary of the White River which now flows both openly and under Main Street in a long tunnel, a mysterious aspect of the mysterious Eureka Underground. The babbling of the creek below melts stress away and puts you directly in touch with nature.
In the living room you’ll find a flatscreen TV with DVD player and a widely varied collection of around 50 DVDs, plus a large selection of books, an acoustic guitar, board games, puzzles, etc. So much entertainment!
The porch off of the living room is where you enter the property - it’s a few steps above your designated parking spot on Jackson Street. You’ll know you’re at the right place when you see the lime green door!
From the porch you can look down into Leatherwood Creek - it’s absolutely stunning!!! If you’re bringing more than one vehicle, there are low cost, easily accessible paid parking lots less than a block away in each direction.

The place was clean and close to the main shopping area. However out of 3 tvs in it there was only one room that had regular channels and that was in the master bedroom. The other rooms were for games or DVD s. One main setback was that there was supposed to be a AC repair scheduled to be done that took half the day, the house was hot for two to three hours later. Didn’t know it was going to take that long.

My grown daughter and I went to Eureka for a few days of r&r. We had some confusion about entering the property but once that was straightened out, we had a great visit. The property suited our needs quite well. It was close to all the activities downtown and everything was within walking distance. A nice visit.

This property was amazing and historic! Very comfortable and spacious! We loved all of the books and games, the kitchen had all we needed and the beds were comfortable. It was neat to stay in the heart of Eureka and walk wherever we needed to go. Thanks!

This house was wonderful. Loved how it felt like an old historic place without being gross or dirty. Clean and perfect distance from downtown to walk to all shops. Would stay here again!
Host was super accommodating to get us an early check in

We stayed at Down on Main one Christmas and fell in love with the property and the town so decided to check it out without the snow. We wanted to stay in UP on Main this time and I love both levels of this building. Matt is a stellar host and the house is lovely. Located right in the heart of the town within walking distance of everything. The Trolleys are so convenient and you must take the Tram tour. There is so much to do here and it's beautiful in May. We are planning our next trip to this quirky, friendly and beautiful town and will want to again stay in one of Matt's properties. 10 out of 10!

If you like staying in historic and unique places, Up On Main will fit the bill. Right in the middle of historic downtown and within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants, we still enjoyed privacy on the porch/backside entry. We stayed for a month and fixed a lot of our meals at home, too, and there was sufficient kitchenwares for this. The owner was quick to respond to any messages although I think we only contacted him twice in the whole month. Highly recommend.

Great stay...very responsive owner. Lovely porches, great energy and perfect location to walk to everything yet quiet and peaceful!
Will be back!

We had a great time in Eureka Springs and Up on Main was within walking distance to so many shops and restaurants. The only time we had to drive was to get out and explore the trails. The house was exactly as described and we would absolutely stay again.

We simply adored our stay here in the heart of Eureka Springs. We loved the convenient access to the historic downtown district and the vintage feel of this property.

Very nice place. Clean. Right down town.

We enjoyed our stay here due to the ease of the check-in process and the proximity to the historic downtown. Our family has been coming to Eureka Springs forever, and this was once again certainly an enjoyable visit!
Our teens enjoyed the vintage gaming systems long, and board game collection. The rooms were clean and certainly large! A perfect for our family of four. The two porches were both used and a lovely touch!
The only downside was that the walls/floors are very thin between the properties, and that the heating can be a bit aggressive in the large front bedroom.
Otherwise this trip and property was fantastic, we would definitely recommend!

We loved our time at this apartment. It is quite large and comfortable. You are able to walk everywhere downtown. We will definitely be back.

Cute little place that is walk-able to downtown. Not huge but big and open. The only constructive criticism would be base boards need to be dusted and the 2nd bedroom is not private...the first bedroom has to walk thru the 2nd to get to the bathroom. As someone who travels fairly frequently, the beds were very comfortable. This was a surprise because I typically don't like hotel/other beds. Otherwise the place was very clean. It had everything we needed. I would very much recommend this property!

We had a wonderful stay. The property was much larger than I had realized. We especially liked the kitchen and bathroom area which are wonderfully done and very spacious. Great view of Main Street so we could watch the motorcycles go by. “We stayed during the Bikes, Blues and Barbeque motorcycle rally”.

The two bedroom house is in a great location. Clean and comfortable furniture. A nice place to relax and enjoy Eureka Springs! Matt is an excellent host and very responsive. Highly recommended.

This property was perfect for us! We came for the weekend and loved how it was in walking distance to everything downtown and we didn’t have to pay for parking. The rental was so cute throughout with the bathroom being our favorite room!

Great location, clean and fun place to stay! Enjoyed the decor and all the activities at ABNB and Eureka Springs is my favorite place in Arkansas to be! So beautiful there!

This place had so much character! If you are into places that hold historical uniqueness then this is the place for you. We absolutely loved having coffee on the back porch while listening to the spring that ran beside the building and wine in the evening on the front porch and watching the activity of main street. It was an ideal location to park and walk to the center of Eureka Springs.
I highly recommend this location and host and would stay again.

Wonderful place to stay. Clean the apartment has a few odd things but that’s expected for a historic building. Coffee no coffee even cheaper hotels give coffee.

Location was perfect, charming property. Host was very responsive on any questions we had. Would definitely stay again.

We loved this apartment! It was easily situated to walk to things downtown, and then only minutes away from attractions around Eureka Springs. There is a creek that runs next to and under the building. I sat out there a lot and read when it wasn't too hot. Also, the host is very responsive and pleasant to work with. This will definitely be on our list should we ever go back to Eureka Springs.

The place was really beautiful, great location, and the host was really responsive. If the bottom floor is rented, you will hear the neighbors. If they are considerate, it won't be an issue. Our neighbors below were quite noisy. The host was responsive to our concerns the first night. The second night, the neighbors came in at 1 am and were pretty loud until 2 am and then yelled at us to stop walking around in the morning as we were getting ready to leave. I really loved the place and the host tried but it is the nature of the set up. I understand that the downstairs folks wanted to have a good time.

I am obsessed with this house! Perfect location, beautiful architecture, very clean and well stocked. We will definitely be back!

Great location! We had a nice stay. I would say an upgrade to the mattresses and pillows would be awesome. I did find a few thicker pillows but no pillow covers. The door in hallway was a little unexpected too. I pulled back the curtain and a man was standing in the door at top of stairs. I think a solid door without windows would be nice and feel safer. There were alot of nice things in this home. Overall it was a good spot for a weekend getaway. I would rent here again. It was clean with neat eclectic feel.

My husband and I loved this place. The location could not be better. We slept in the room that has the balcony and the bed was very comfortable. Everything about the inside has so much charm. I loved the natural light that comes into the bathroom from the ceiling. We definitely took advantage of the Nintendo games! We have rented places before that had great location but lacked quality—that is not the case here!

Great place to stay.
My girls had a GREAT TIME!!!
Will not hesitate to book again.

Right off the main strip. Parking right at the entrance of the house. (Around back) Welcoming and warm inside the house. The bedroom facing the street had lots of windows to let the light in, a TV with cable/satellite and a nice porch (slight slant forward) for morning hot tea. The street is below, so it can get loud in the morning. The middle room had a TV for video games, one large window and no door. The bathroom was big and the tub was huge. (Washer and dryer included along with bottle soap and shampoo) The kitchen had everything you need for cooking (we never found the toaster) along with a coffee maker, big fridge and microwave. A nice island for eating or setting up food, along with a small table for watching the birds. Plenty of books and movies for entertainment. The only window with a screen was in the hallway. Both the front and back door have screens, a few holes in the bedroom one, for listening to the sounds of nature. (Mosquitoes can get in) The mattresses were not the most comfortable, one pretty firm and one squishy, but there were plenty of pilows and blankets. Matt was so easy to correspond with and very helpful with everything. A nice quiet street to walk your dog on behind the house as well as plenty of floor space for their bed. Everything is in walking distance from restaurants to shopping. We have already talked about coming back and staying here.
