Stayed one night, room was clean and comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Great place in the center of town. Breakfast was additional, but good. Parking wasn't free, but we found free parking nearby.

Not their fault, but loud people out on street in front until 2:30 am. Finally someone told them to move along. I believe the problem people were drunk tourists & just not appreciating that other people need their sleep.

Excellent place to stay. Looked a bit run down on the outside but it had modern rooms that were spacious. Comfortable bed and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the room was very hot. There were two small windows and we kept the closed as their were no screens in them and we did not no if bugs were an issue in this area.

Took us half hour to figure where the hotel was. It is not easy to check in. Better instructions needed.
Just tell customers park their car on the street and walk to restaurant/bar to check in.
I had to ask the bar attendant who could help me to check in. Kind of being ignored since they awere serving their customers who were eating or drinking. It was strange to find checking in processing was in the hotel restaurant.

The first property had an issue so the staff booked another location for us. the new location was amazing and the apartment was fantastic. thank you for accommodating our stay

I waited for a long time for check in, because the staff also worked for the pub, so they were very busy

Little tricky to find but once we got settled, a perfect location. Staff was wonderful!

-The room was spacious and very clean.
-The bathroom was also very spacious and very clean.
-The location is great and a lot of restaurants and shopping around.
-There is a common kitchen. If you want to make a tea or coffee or cook something easy its possible and the kitchen is also clean and it had some utensils.

I loved my stay. Clean and easily accessible

Hotel located in the city center. It was a little difficult to find. You do not have parking on site. Not far to park, but notable. A little loud at night from the hostel down the street. But overall good stay.

Comfy beds. Great location in the heart of Akureyri. Is also a restaurant/bar where you check in with the host/bartender, has all info upon arrival.

Nice hotel on a pedestrian only street which made it hard for google to find. Otherwise perfect.

Nice people, nice room. Loved it.

Place was great!

Not a bad hotel. Clean and modern, but basic, not much more to it than the room. It is in the middle of downtown so it’s centrally located to a lot of shopping and walkable attractions like the botanical garden. Parking is a paid lot behind the hotel, except free on weekends. The road in front of the hotel is closed to traffic so you do have to roll your bags a short walk.

Good location, but small room

The property was on an extremely noisy street where drunk people were screaming all night long. Curtains were not wide enough to block the light at a time when the sun hardly sets, so it was hard to sleep. There was no parking, in fact the street was closed to vehicles. We had to park in a public parking lot and had to walk with a lot of luggage to get there. Entrance was through a bar! It was extremely weird for us with kids and suitcases walking through a bar full of people drinking and relaxing! Room was too small and with sofa bed pulled out there was no space to walk. Horrible and overpriced!

Clean, helpful staff, great breakfast. Bar was open late and
we were able to eat dinner.

We were in Iceland in June and had booked this hotel on a non refundable basis as we intended to travel the ring road.
We were travelling anti clockwise and had arrived in Hofn when the roads North were closed. There was an unseasonal storm across the North and the roads out of Hofn were all closed. The road South reopened first so we decided to head back west as the roads North were going to be closed a while. We had no way of getting to the hotel but they refused to refund us. Whilst I accept that this was their prerogative as I had not paid for flexibility, our cancellation was not our fault and we would have gone to the hotel had the roads been open and allowed it. I hoped that the hotel would have been a little more flexible given the unseasonal nature of the snow storms. They lacked empathy. A refund (full or partial) or a transfer of the booking to another city would have been lovely. I understand I paid for a non refundable room but when the roads are closed and you cant physically get there, a compromise would be welcome.
I tried not to rate the cleanliness etc but this review would not be published without me doing so. I have no idea how good the cleanliness and condition is.

Clean, spacious, well stocked kitchen with laundry facilities which helped tremendously. Highly recommend - central location to shopping and food.

Convenient location with city (paid) parking out front or out back. Solid dinner and snack menu. Breakfast was not great. Complimentary washer-dryer was great and they provided the detergent. Good for a night and then move on. Friendly staff make up for everything that wasn’t great.

Laundry room is great! Convenient location. Friendly staff. Kitchen has no cooktop. But it has plenty coffee and tea.

A good solution in a beautiful place. Right in the center, beautiful room. With these prices the breakfast could be included. But a good place to stay.

We stayed a couple of nights in Dec 2023. The hotel was nice, there was some noise from the bar downstairs during the night and off the street. You are located right downtown with easy access to restaurants and shopping. There’s not a whole lot of parking access right at the hotel and the parking there is you can pay for in the Parka app.
5.0
Easy to find. Parking just outside the hotel. Plenty of eateries and a shopping street itself.
Check in was a breeze. Very friendly staff from the Resturant which shared the entry with the hotel. Good room size. Good sound insulation as well. We like everything about this hotel.
We would definitely stay again if we visit akureyri.

There were many mosquitoes in the room.

It was easy to get there from the airport (cab). The restaurant was good, nice food&beer.
The bathroom furniture and shower appliance could need some renovation.

The good first. The Centrum Hotel Akureyri is a small hotel centrally located, with lots of restaurants in the area. Street parking was available (free from 4pm to 10am) and paid after that. The hotel was clean and in good condition, and everything worked. The not so good. Our room was tiny. There was about 2ft of floor space on either side of the bed, and 3 ft at the foot. Nowhere to put our suitcases except on the bed - had to close them up at night. One straight back wooden chair that was in the way. If we had been spending more time in the room, it would have been an issue.

Comfortable
Very clean
On site bar and food was good as well
