Cheap, but not good value. Shabby, smelly, dirty. Not enough towels - asked for another and pleasant response but no action. Only 1 bedside table. Sink blocked, so filled rapidly then drained slowly. On the plus side large comfortable bed and decent linen. Breakfast good but ruined by nasty instant coffee with flasks of tepid water.

The shower wasn’t working.
So it wasn’t a good stay for us.
There was no one in reception to tell that the shower wasn’t working but this may have been at 7 am, but as a working trip we couldn’t stay to wait.

The manager in pub checked us in, had a fab explanation of everything. Even have room service of bar menu to your room.

Comfortable bed, clean rooms, good shower (check for towels BEFORE you get in to the shower) and tasty breakfast.

Exactly what you’ve expect from a budget hotel next to a pub. Rooms are basic but plenty big enough and clean; enough parking on site; and generally it’s a good option for a cheap one-night stay. No frills but nothing wrong with it.

Booked through hotels.com on the basis of price, location and ability to pay on arrival. The payment was taken two days before arrival, hotel said they have no control and the messages I send them through hotels.com are not received by them. Not sure of the truth in that but won’t use hotels.com again. Hotel was ok. Easy to find and check in. On arrival we only had one pillow each, asked for more and told they don’t have any. There was only one large and one hand towel in the room, didn’t bother wasting my time asking again. Room was very comfortable, another guest gave us pillows spare from their room. Room was dated and could do with some repairs but was clean and very good value for money. Had they not of taken the money from my card and let me pay on arrival as arranged, supplied the pillows and towels it would have been 5*

Good location and value for money a bit tired now and breakfast was very basic and average.

My stay at Kings Way was superb, a real pleasure to stay there.
I have to single out Gemma for praise.
With me having a disability, there help I received from Gemma was second to none.
She is a massive credit to Marstons and should be promoted.

Good clean room, good shower. No eggs available at breakfast

It was convenient for a stop over to break a long journey up and ok for one night. The food in the pub was lovely evening meal and breakfast. We only had one hand towel and one bath towel between two people, not sure how that was supposed to work. Also only one bedside cabinet which was abit weird.

Generally good value. Go elsewhere for cooked breakfast they were terrible.

Okay for a couple of nights business trip but nothing special.
Slow service in the bar and reception. Communal areas and rooms tired and not cleaned particularly well.

The shower tap was broken and you had to spend time fiddling about with it.

I loved how the main hotel was segregated from the pub and garden . Alot of peace 😁

Ideal for overnight stay after a wedding in the area

Very comfortable small hotel but I think the breakfast (full English) could have been better. The bacon had a strange tang & I couldn’t chew the hash brown (second day).

The dog barking continually all night keeping us awake. I did complain to staff but as they are not there a night they where not aware of the problem.

Good sized room, very clean, nice complimentary toiletries, plenty of towels, comfy bed and a tv.

Paid for the continental breakfast, but they did not offer everything they promised. No yoghurt, lack of fruit. Our key cards stopped working on the main door into the building so had to continuously get them replaced at the pub. No spare pillows for my step mother with sciatica. Most of the staff, but not all, were not very helpful.

Not great to be honest - check in and out involved going into the pub and a rather stretched receptionist/ barmaid. There was a really bad smell of either drains or illicit substances in the hallways on the way to our room and in the morning we were treated to the loud unloading of a lorry delivering to the pub from before 8am. Beds were clearly two singles together so if you ended up in the middle of the bed you were left if pain and from a personal preference the tea bag make was awful and two teabags feels a bit stingy.

The building and pub look a bit tired and especially the pub Marstons need to up their game. Lovely staff, very helpful

The trouble with tick boxes is that they constrain genuine comment.. The room was clean and pleasant, except that the trees almost touching the window meant that it felt like living in the jungle. There was no welcoming brochure. QR codes are not human beings. There had been no personal welcome. The staff were pleasant enough but didn't make us feel valued. The assumption was that the technology would do everything. Which it did provided you were familiar with it - from keys and door entry systems, from the aforementioned QR code, to the slot that you had to find to switch on the lights. No one told us that real coffee was available and an extra. The breakfast was fine but the explanation as to how to get it was perfunctiory. In short it was not a place where real human beings could feel that they were dealing with real human beings whose presence they valued. I suspect that the staff are undermanned and underpaid.

Functional hotel, looks a bit tired and dated, but was clean and comfortable

Room was lovely and spacious however the smell in the corridor was not what you want as a guest. It was a like a wet dirty smell and not pleasant. Some upholstery issues in the bathroom with wear and tear.

Check-in was fine. Room was ok - although he’d very soft. Check-out took >20mins because they couldn’t figure how to print the invoice, despite it being pay at property. They had also incorrectly charged the card on the reservation before check in without asking if that was correct (booking was pay at property).

Extremely clean throughout. Lovely large and comfortable bed.

Location was good for what I wanted, but I arrived with my bags at the hotel reception only to find that I had to go into the pub to book in. On entering the hotel it smelt stale in and looked very well worn. The room felt tired and grubby but the bedding was very clean and the bed comfortable.
