Wouldn't let us utilize the rest of the house, or the grounds, rugs everywhere and not vacuumed, bed was hard as a rock, no TV in the room and slow internet.

The house and the room were both unique, comfortable and beautiful. A very nice experience. Check in was easy and quick - you were expected, your room was ready and you just walked in. well worth the cost, convenient for seeing the northern redwood forest parks.

Lovely home and very nice host.
Slept like a baby.
3.3
It was beautifully decorated, cozy, and peceful. The owner was very polite.
It was litsted as a cabin but was really an Air B-n-B which was a pleasant suprise.
Only down side was that there was no TV.

This is a Logcabin House. You are renting a room with an attached bath (shower) The rooms are nice and clean.
The Staff and Service, section I left blank, there was no staff that we interacted with nor any service.
You park, go in and find your name on the door and that is your room. there is a key to the door hanging in the room.
There are convenient notes around to give you directions. There is a list of restaurants, and the best gas station to use.
It was very quiet and the temperature was good with the windows open.

I thought I had pulled into the wrong location, left and came back after verifying the directions. It’s all self check-in which I wasn’t expecting…The directions are printed on the door… When you enter the log cabin the downstairs living room is blocked off off which forces you upstairs where there are three separate bedrooms your name will be on one of the doors.
Yes, as others have stated it is a bit musty smelling but the rooms are lovely, no TV but you do have a separate bathroom and a cozy cottage room for the evening.
If you happen to meet the owner, her English is broken, but she is a very sweet lady. The property is beautiful and nested in the redwoods and is a gem. they have a lovely garden and a chicken coop with geese and ducks and rosebushes surrounding the yard. I believe the owners live downstairs, but out of sight for the most part.
When I go back? Definitely! now that I know what to expect. Not sure why there are negative reviews. it is different, but it’s also a nice change. Remember to thank the owners (if you’re lucky enough to meet them) for sharing their home with you.

It’s a residence. If you don’t mind clutter and junk everywhere. It would be ok for like $60 a night.
3.3
Shabby. No breakfast.
3.3
Its like a cabin
3.3
No street sign.
Musty smell.
Shortly after arriving, someone entered the house, we yelled Who is there. No Answer(Mind you, the house is in the woods). We knew some one else would be arriving to take the other room. We would have felt safer if we could meet who was sharing the house.

Property was nice and quiet very relaxing facilities were clean was recently priced

I don’t know how this got a hotel listing, it’s just a room with little privacy. Hard to find and not allowed access except the upstairs of a house. I guess it’s a B&B but there are no amenities.
3.3
Great place to stay and spacious rooms. A little off from the main area of Crescent City but not far of a drive.
3.3
This is not your local Holiday Inn, but it does the task at hand. If you are looking for a safe place to lay your head, take a shower, and other facilities this is just the place. Initial check-in was brief and polite. Our room was freshly prepped for us and perfect for what we needed. Quick overnight stay to shower and use running facilities.
3.3
Very unique setting and facility was nice. Virtual no service though. No coffee in the morning. you are completely on your own. Only talked to owners twice and only to say hello. If you want seclusion and privacy, it was great.
3.3
The place is amazing! Happy I stayed there. Remember to use the phone that is posted everywhere if there are ANY problems. Super nice owner. Would definitely stay again.
3.3
Misleading. Walked in met by the owner, which me my wife and our baby were not aware would be there. Felt like we were in a scary movie. Told us not to get the bed wet. We walked out and got a regular hotel. Terrible experience. Plus it’s in the middle of nowhere. Giant potholes to the dirt road leading up. Nothing against this guy, could be a wonderful person but we’re not staying.
3.3
The place has incredible potential with minimal effort on the part of the owner/manager. Would recommend renting a cabin at Jedediah State Park instead (better price and a better experience).
3.3
We did not stay here because of the conditions. It was very remote. Not at all what was described! Our money was never refunded. I tried many times to cancel.
3.3
Quiet perfect little cabin in the woods.
3.3
beautiful home with the upstairs turned into 3 rooms with bathrooms for rent. The place lost a star due to bad water pressure, but it was a great place to sleep.
3.3
I drove all day and had expected to be received when I arrived in town. No one answered the phone when I called for assistance in checking in.
I had to find alternate lodging.
3.3
Incredibly rude owner and staff. The booking didn’t lost no dogs—when we showed up they refused to let us stay. The verbally said they would refund us for the mix up and then never did. They are money hungry and rude. Hotels.com was just as rude and money hungry.
3.3
Nice location in the middle of the forest, but inside was run down, had a musty smell, nobody was there, it was very unwelcoming. The sheets and towels did not feel clean, we didn’t want to touch anything and brought our own pillows. The place was cluttered with too much stuff, it felt very uncomfortable.

This property has tremendous potential, and perhaps before the pandemic, this was a sweet bed and breakfast. Our stay was safe, but we left swiftly in the morning. There was no hot water, so we could not shower. Although the log home is stunning structurally, it is sadly peppered with an eclectic collection of dusty nick nacks and silk flower clumps. The property has piles of flee market finds and old toys scattered along the side of the home. The owners do not allow guests to be in any of the home’s common areas, although the rooms have patio areas to use outside.

Upon arrival at Redwood Log Cabin, the ambiance and design suggested a comfortable stay. Unfortunately, the entire area was facing a power outage. While this isn't inherently the hotel's fault and we truly understood the challenges of uncontrollable external factors, the sequence of events that followed left us quite astonished.
As night approached, our room, shrouded in darkness, became the playground for a colony of bats! The eerie experience of bats flying around made it impossible for us to stay. It felt like an unsolicited night with nature, and while some might appreciate a close encounter with wildlife, it's not what we signed up for in a hotel room.
To compound our dismay, despite the unique circumstances, the hotel management refused to provide a refund. An empathetic approach or some form of compensation would have been a more appropriate response, especially considering the unexpected "roommates" we encountered.
While the power outage wasn't the hotel's responsibility, the presence of bats certainly raises questions about their maintenance and safety protocols. Additionally, their unwillingness to address our concerns with a refund or compensation was disappointing.
I'd advise potential guests to think twice before booking, unless of course, you're keen on a batty adventure.

Unfriendly host. Creeper environment. Lots of chickens and ducks. Not what is pictured on site. Dirty. Feels like your gonna get murdered as soon as you close your eyes. Doors chained shut. Please do stay here if you dont like creepy places. Its out a single lane dirt road
3.3
It was dirty and smeled
3.3
It was a nice home feel in a cabin in the woods. Quiet, other than being able to hear other people throught the cabin. You can lock your room while your in there but if you leave you cant lock it behind you. Parking was a little tight but manageable. Comfortable bed and couch in the room. No tv due to the open sound throughout the cabin. Overall it was a nice stay.
3.3
Unique location and room! Hassle free check in and wifi! Thanks!
3.3
When we arrived it was dark, there weee no lights anywhere and the place was not kept. The grass and weeds were at least three feet tall. This led us to believe that they were not in business and we left to stay somewhere else. We apparently cannot get a refund of our $118.00. I would recommend Travelocity remove them from their offerings. Very, very disappointed!!

Back in the woods off a dirt road hides this gem.
It's cheap and gorgeous, just don't expect breakfast of any sort
3.3
This place is way above what we expected. Quiet safe place hidden in the woods only minutes from town the owners are marvelous. This is one of the funnest trips to the coast in a long time for us. AAAA* Will stay here many times. THANKS!
3.3
Inside of house is not clean. Light and ceiling fan didn't work. Front door to cabin left unlocked 24/7. Used loofas and toiletries in bathroom.
3.3
Magnificent cabin, but you don't get to enjoy the main living room.
3.3
Huge trees
Down a quiet country lane
Huge log cabin (1 of 3 bedrooms
Main area not in use or heated
Veranda

I reserved a room here, but did not end up staying. It is on a gravel road and no one greets you when you arrive. You go to the second floor and look for your name on the door.
It might have been a very nice place, but I chose not to stay.
3.3
Very homey place, definitely different than any hotel you'll get there as it's an actual home where the people let you stay.
3.3
Not a hotel.

Unfortunately this house looked nice from the photos but did not turn out to be the best option. The location was convenient getting to the trailheads but the house did not smell the best and the complimentary snacks were very stale and tasted like cardboard.
