L’accueil était super sympathique. Le studio très bien et l’emplacement idéal.

The location is good, right next to the lake; it was quite clean for this type of place and the guy who met us was very helpful and kind; the view was beautiful;
ah, where do I start: I know this is not an exception and it's still the case in many places in France, but the deal with the sheets that you have to put in yourself and use the blankets that a ton of people have used before you should be discontinued immediately, if you ask me - I just don't get it - how are you supposed to cover yourself with a free sheet and a separate blanket - it's disgusting;
- the beds and the pillows were highly uncomfortable
- it was barely possible to have the tv on and the tea kettle at the same time - very difficult situation with the electricity outlets
- the second thing I hate the most, after the single sheet situation is this end of the stay cleaning that you're supposed to do; I mean, you're supposed to be on vacation, aren't you? anyway, we paid the 30 euro final cleaning and still the apartment was not clean enough for some reason. Basically we ended up paying the 4 night, supercharged new-years rate + sheets and towels + final cleaning to stay for barely 2 nights and we were made to feel uncomfortable that we didn't clean enough. I mean, seriously.
- the place was small, but could have been more comfortable - we love the area, but we were so disappointed we left half way through our prepaid stay
- our room was on the third floor and there was no elevator - not a problem for us, but maybe should be mentioned in advance!
- we didn't touch much of the kitchen stuff, but it definitely needs updating

Clean new mattresses. Microwave, toaster, water boiler, coffee machine, pots, pans, diningware and utensils for 4 people. Balcony view. Officially only WiFi downstairs in lounge but good reception in this apartment. Sheets and towels are available to rent or bring your own. Owner/Manager Jean Philippe is there to fulfill your every need, a really friendly fantastic guy.
There is nothing really to criticise. The cable TV has only French channels, but many, for those who think that is important.

The location was nice and the reception area had a nice ping pong table and other small games. There were also a few books to read.
* The property had a partially full trash bin and the dishwasher was loaded partially with dirty dishes already.
* There was no handwash or a dishwasher tablet.
* When we left with a full bin and a full dishwasher, we were issued a cleaning fee after our departure although we were given a dirty apartment.
* The receptionist talked about a lot of unwanted stuff, but he never mentioned that we had to leave the property exactly how it was before.

Location is very good. The manager was super helpful. He spoke good English (although I did try my best in French!). Parking is on site and no charge. The cooking area was spotless.
The rooms need updating, not just redecorating but some serious investment. The shower was cracked which meant that although it was likely clean, it didn’t seem so. There’s no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only the public area. The cooking area is tiny and very basic.
From the listing in booking.com, the room rate seemed reasonable. I knew there’d be some add ons. But once we arrived, we realised the listing rather oversold the place. Given the condition and size of the room, it was very expensive for what it was. The add ons to the price base price included a charge for linen (optional, but who travels with towels and a full set of bedding?), a charge for our dog (expected but high), €30 for cleaning, plus local tourist tax. The cleaning can be waived if you clean the room yourself (to the manager’s standard), which we chose to do.
The reason I feel it wasn’t value is that we’d just stayed in two, far larger, apartments in Austria. One was less per night than Les Myrtilles and the other about £25 a night more. Both apartments had compact, yet full, modern kitchens; bedding and towels included; Wi-Fi in the apartments; clean and modern decoration; great bathrooms; outside space/large wrap around balcony; and free parking. Both were in popular areas, one at the bottom of the ski run in St Johann. Les Myrtilles therefore was a very big disappointment. We weren’t expecting luxury for the price but we were expecting something of a similar quality and size as we’d experienced in Austria. In the end, the only real thing to recommend Les Myrtilles was the manager, who was very accommodating and helpful, and the free onsite parking.

Basic amenities, no extra effort lost on comfort, I would recommend this apartment and the apartment hotel to outdoorsy types, who will spend all their days outside and only come here to rest. They will appreciate the ample space (the apartment sleeps six) for all their gear, and a fully equipped kitchen. I also have to say the apartment was squeaky clean.
