This property is absolutely gorgeous, with little partridges running around. Rooms are large and clean and the staff is awesome.

A little out dated but other than that everything was amazing.

It is absolutely beautiful with amazing charm. The rooms are so spacious and the living area has a fire place. The bathroom also had lots of charm and is huge with a walk in shower. The outdoor patio is large with a table and chairs and a beautiful view.
The views are gorgeous surrounding the entire property.
Great hospitality and friendly people! It’s a must to stay here!

Gorgeous, clean, quiet, spacious, and safe. Hotel suite included a patio. A little hard to find the hotel room at night in the dark if you're not familiar with the layout but very safe to walk around the premise at night. Checked in late at night and staff in the lobby was very friendly and helpful. In the daytime, it is beautiful (even from the parking lot). I would definitely stay here again.

Casita #1095 lovely patio, but A/C and phone didn’t work. Had to move in the dark, but #1019 was a suite with large hot tub on private patio. Rooms are very musty smelling.
Outside appearance is well maintained, but inside units are very worn out. The focus is on the golf amenities. Beautiful landscaping.
Front desk, Matthew, was very accommodating.

It was a very nice resort that was so close to the Superstition Mountains!

Parking and getting to your room was a challenge! Lots of steps . Needs updating! Beds were comfortable! Restaurant was nice and very friendly.

Very slow at lobby desk. One person working and another guest had a credit card problem. Took 15 minutes to pick up coffee and towels. Pool was too cold to swim. Food service was good. Beautiful setting.

Although a beautiful property near the Superstition Mountains some detail to care is needed if it’s to be concerned a 4 star resort. The room we stayed in a one king room with patio appeared that it hadn’t been used in a while, dusty on floors and counter tops. The pool and hot tub look beautiful but was disappointing as the pool was < 70 degrees and hot tub might have been at 80degrees! There isn’t many dinner places near Gold Canyon and ended up driving to Gilbert which has many nice restaurants and great atmosphere for nightly dinning. Service at golf course was very friendly and good and able to play a round in less than 4 hrs on a Saturday. We played ‘sidewinder ‘ which was nice and in fairy decent shape but hard to compare as the previous day we were at the Omni Tucson national where everything was top notched! It is a good place to stay if you are planning on hiking in the Superstition mtn. But need to care for the outdoor areas of the pool and hot tub

What a beautiful place! I wish we had had more time to take advantage of the whole resort. The Bar had some great food options. My one complaint is that the villas are old and the ac unit was so loud. Other than that, we'd stay again.

Average at best... bare bones not for anyone who has trouble getting around. Parking horrible.

Been visiting for several years. Very quiet.

Finding the casita was a bit of a challenge. There should be more signs around the property detailing where the casitas are with maps.

The room was "surface clean" but needed a deep cleaning. The baseboards were dirty and so was the bathtub mat. I needed a plug behind the bed stand, there was dirt and trash that had been there a long time. The ac/heating unit had a note aped to the thermostat to not lower it below 70 because it would freeze. It would kick on about every 30 mins and it sounded like a plane taking off over the bed. Kept waking me up. The staff was nice. The main bldg and golf course looked nice.

We had to move rooms twice because we needed two queen beds and they kept giving us a room with one king bed. The rooms are outdated and smell funky. The blanket at the end of our bed was visibly dirty. Yuck! We travel this way often and will never stay here again.

The girl at the front desk was very nice and helpful. She got us an early check in

We were really looking forward to this stay.
Parking was terrible. Had to make 3 trips up a long path, up and down hills in 109 degree weather to get our luggage, golf clubs, etc.
The split level room was different. The TV was very small and was up by the ceiling. It hurt our neck to look up from the lower level couch. From the bed area, we could not see or hear it because was at least 20 feet away.
You could see through the front door. The door was actually split in several places and the seal was awful. The AC unit was right behind the bed wall and very loud. It came on every 15 minutes the whole night keeping us awake. The heat just came right through the front door. There was no microwave. There was no Ice anywhere except in the restaurant. You had to take your Ice bucket and walk up and down the hilly terrain to get ice. But you had to make sure to get it before the restaurant closed at 9:00 PM. Then we had a cricket "chirping"at 11:00 pm. Found it 15 minutes later under the couch.
The Sidewinder golf course was average.
The driving range was small and only have mats to hit off of so no driver practice. No sand bottles, no rakes in the sand traps. They said if you land in a foot print or divot to just move your ball to a different spot in the trap. Really! They said it was because of COVID. Funny thing is that this was the only thing they were still doing from COVID. No masks, anywhere, no surface wipes, etc. Seems like they just didn't want to do the work.

Enjoyed the stay. Wished there was soap in the toilet room. No soap for the tub. No hot water just lukewarm. The iron couldn’t be used as it was sticking to my clothes.

The first room I received had no power. The A/C in the second room did not work.

The front desk guy Mathew was amazing and the whole point that me and my brother and sister had a reunion after 50 years from 23 and me finding my Brother and Sister after 50 years. We will never forget this wonderful place. We had the whole pool and hot tub pretty much to ourselves all day. And the staff everywhere was amazing!! We now want to every year for a reunion. Thank you so much for everything

My daughters and I loved our stay!! We will definitely be returning to this location and highly recommend to other travelers!!

The property is nice and peaceful but it is really outdated. The rooms aren’t very cozy. Very cold and outdated.

The view was beautiful. Sparse rooms. Rained while we were there, but if a golfer, you may enjoy it.

Rooms were very outdated. The beds were terrible! So Uncomfortable and creaked if you moved. I have always wanted to stay at this "resort" but I was so disappointed that I would not recommend it to any more family members or friends.

We stayed here on our last night of a 6 day trip for my BFF's Bachelorette trip! We stayed in a Beautiful VRBO in Scottsdale with the gals she grew up with. I am from the area, so I decided to stay another day to meet up with my own child hood friends and my BFF wanted to meet them! Excited, we booked a hotel nearest to my home town but we wanted options to golf and river raft or find hiking fun in case they weren't available. We took an Uber to GCGR and when we arrived the two young gals that checked us in had no idea what hours the restaurant was open or if they were open at all. They didn't know where to get a menu but offered to make a copy when we do find one. We were immediately unimpressed. We finished check in. Luckily a women walking through the lobby saw &asked if we needed help! She was amazing! She gave us a menu and was well informed. She said it was her 5th day! She must have really paid attention in training because she was amazing! mark came and picked us girls up in a cart with all of our luggage and we headed back to the café where my friends form child hood trickled in. OH MY GOODNESS did we have fun! The restaurant staff were so patient and supportive and we tipped everyone as often as possible for being so accommodating. We closed the café down and stayed through their "lull" and stayed through dinner and closed it down from the outside patio where we watched the sunset and bonded with two little lovely ladies in their 80"s! What an amazing experience!

Very nice golf course. Decent rooms. Visited in the summer and only had a snack bar to eat. If you wanted a dinner had to leave the resort.

staff was friendly. this place is rough around the edges to say the least, not worthy of being called a “resort” restaurants not open until 10 am? 45 minutes to get service by the pool… once we got in (lock was broken),patio at my room was dusty full of cob webs and bugs
again. staff was friendly…

Location was good for the nearby wedding we attended.

The grounds and environment of this hotel are what staying in Arizona is all about! The casitas are spacious with cute patio areas.
The pool area is very welcoming. They need more staff though. The decor of casita is not posh, but clean and comfortable. Views are gorgeous from many locations throughout grounds. We’ll stay here again!

Very outdated room.

We had a glitch as it was an expedia reservation but the front desk was friendly and assisted in getting us into a room. The room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the valley that was a little lower level than we were. Beautiful at night and great patio for morning. There is a trail right behind the hotel room. The room is clearly needing a refresh and update. The large tub in the room was outdated, there was not microwave, the bedding seemed out dated, the coffee pot was not working, there was a fireplace but no way to use it. However the hotel overall had great amenities. Although I didnt golf this time, the course is beautiful, there are 3 restaurants and a great spa. We had massages and our masseuses Christa and Jennifer were amazing. We will definitely go back.

Honestly the property is beautiful. The staff is friendly- excellent service. The downfall was the smell in the room. It was stale - not fresh.

Excellent setting in the mountains and cactus views with two golf courses wrapping around the resort

The area is very nice. But the property is dated, and it is beginning to show. The staff are polite but not suited to run this property as they are just part timers mostly and are not trained to handle a full scale resort property. They are looking for staff like everyone else, but sadly not for career staff, just cheap help wanted staff. At this property, you must have top notch people and the prices they are asking for ells me that they think they have a world class property here.

Was playing in a golf tournament 4 miles away. So liked the location to that venue

we enjoyed the beautiful landscape, scenery, pool, food, staff (was excellent) hiking trails and bar. wildlife (butterflies, deer, dragonflies, etc) were wonderful to observe as well. room was great/clean and staff was top notch in accommodating our needs in a swift manner (ice). we really enjoyed our stay.
