This is a “dog friendly” hotel, and when we exited the elevator, walking to our room, it sounded like a kennel. We immediately went back to the front desk and said we need a different floor, which they were able to do. Looking back at the reviews, I don’t understand how we booked this hotel. We slipped up. We would never recommend this hotel to anyone. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were great, and the kitchenette was well stocked. The shower pressure was outstanding!

It would have been great if the guest laundry room have had all the 4 washer machines working instead of one. The bus shuttle was not available to provide the service.

Coffee pot and microwave did not work and could not get a replacement

The exhaust ventilation in the bathroom/toilet did not work, so the mirror was constantly fogged up and steam and odors were not removed. The frying pan was of very cheap quality and had burnt food residue that was impossible to remove. We waited two days for the frying pan to be replaced.

The lobby often doesn’t have anyone at the desk and it could use a remodeling. The lobby is also very small. However, the rooms were very clean. It was quiet considering the hotel was sold out for the weekend. We did not try the restaurant on site. There are several breweries nearby and downtown Richmond is less than 20min without traffic. There is a hotel mini mart which has a wide variety of snacks and drinks. The only real downside is the hotel only has 1 elevator which is not enough for the size of the hotel.

This is not the worst place I have stayed at, but I was very unimpressed. When I checked in to the room, there was food particles on the floor and the surfaces were not clean. The next day I told the front desk and asked that they clean the room and vacuum. When I came back from the event, the same food particles were on the rug, surfaces were still dirty, and they took the half roll of toilet paper away (why?). luckily there was an unopened new roll under the sink. They did however change the towels. I didn't make a fuss because my stay was already half over. That night, my wife and daughter visited me and wanted to see the room. We got out of the car and the air was full of pot smoke (we were close to the smoking area). then we walked in the door and there were two ladies rolling a blunt in the hallway. Or maybe they were just putting tobacco back in their cigar. Anyway, I told my 10 year old daughter to not pay attention to it and we went up to the room. So anyway... I dont think I would every stay there again. Hopefully my experience is the exception.

The beds were so amazing!!!! Very friendly staff! Will be going back!
